Everything fake.... for those in doubt, show me their software screen shot. A software company that doens't show a screen shot of their software, no demo to download, no trial.... website full of fancy photos. Like Serba IT... makes so much money, but no screen shot, no demo, no download, no trial... end up, toilet company do IT business with Serba IT.
Imagine going to Microsoft website and they have fancy photos only, cannot download trial also. Think about it.

wtf, you bought at 3? is it because of Choivo's article? There was a period... i think OTB 'read' Choivo's article and told his supporters to invest, say got bright future. Choivo predict it to read Rm6 if I am not mistaken.
I know they've delisted before. Just like Maxis. Never trust such management.

They have no EV to offer for the future, and their current line up are too expensive. Affordable Chinese EV are priced below their Mazda models, Chinese EV are eating their lunch. My neighbour just bought a BYD. I think the design is ugly.
If EV is the future, where is BAuto's future? If Model 3 is priced at RM150K, how many will choose Model 3 over Mazda 3 or CX30 and above? Just pay few thousand more and you get an EV that doesn't require oil change and major maintenance. If BYD Dolphine is below RM100K, who is going to buy Mazda 2?
Will EV be the future? For now, I dont know. But if it is the future, why is BAuto not doing anything? The Japanese may not be interested in EV and are now behind, but for the past few years, BAuto should have secured franchise for other Chinese EV makers, did they? Maybe they did and failed. Maybe they didn't. Whatever it is, they have no EV that the market wants.

Anyone that drives back to Ipoh or Penang from KL will know you 12 hours is pure BS. I dare to say you are wrong because I've been driving up North for 20 years during every festival season, and reader of my comment will know I am right.
Why KIA with BAuto? Maybe you should ask why Naza 'passed' the Peugeot and KIA franchise to BAuto? Seems like Naza and BCorp are shuffling their business or slowly merging or whatever.... I think Vincent Tan still owns BAuto indirectly via his SPV Dynamic Milestone Sdn Bhd.
You think it is S*upid for any gov to allow other car companies to sell cars in their country and take back the profit? I think you must have listen too much to Mahathir. Other than Malaysia, which tiny country has their own national car? Only big countries has automotive industry, not small, reason is scale. I guess Vietnam, Indonesia, Australia, Canada, New Zealand, Taiwan etc are all run by S*upid people because they dont have their national car?

KIA Niro EV / RM 256,000 / 460KM
KIA EV6 / RM319,000 / 506KM
Mazda MX-30 / RM199,000 / 199KM
Peugeot No EV
Model Y / RM199,000 / 430KM
Model Y / RM246,000 / 533KM
Model 3 / ? / ?
Might as well not sell any EV, BAuto not serious in selling EV, maybe margin is low? maybe they can't make money from servicing it since EV doesn't need much servicing? Not aggressive in promoting it, must be a reason. At that price, nobody with a brain will buy a Mazda or KIA EV. Now wait for Model 3 pricing, you guys better pray it is not RM150K.

Bauto own Tesla AP? What are you talking? Tesla business model is direct sales, no collaboration with 3rd party. If 3rd party required, they will not enter the country. Even Mercedes took back some control of their business from hapseng and etc.
Plus highway jam 14 to 15 hours? I am sure you are city boy or dont drive. Every chinese new year and sometimes raya i travel up north, worse come to worse, the time travel will only double, means max is 3 hours more. With the new WCE highway opening fully soon, there will be less jam and smoother travelling.

BYD will take the lower end market, Tesla is like Mercedes or BMW, people buy because of the 'cool' factor, like the first few iPhones.

@gohkimhock
Mazda is for the mid-range priced market, Proton goes for the low-mid range market, more towards the affordable segment. Honda and Toyota somewhat there too, granted that Toyota has more offerings, some higher end like their premium SUV and MPV.
Look at Kia NiroEV at RM256K at 460km range, who is going to buy this? KIA EV6 RM320K.
This is like the birth and launch of iPhone by Steve Jobs. Only iPhone has the best smartphone in the world then and all the other phone makers scrambled to find an answer, many died along the way like Nokia, Alcatel, Motorola, Ericcson, Panasonic, Sony, Siemens, LG.... only Samsung survived, and new players emerged, mostly Chinese smartphone makers and they dominates the market.
Tesla is like Apple, BYD and Chinese EV makers are the new players like XiaoMi, Huawei, Vivo.... question is, who is the Samsung that will survive this onslaughter? I am betting Toyota will be Samsung. BMW, Mercedes, all those eurpean marquee will still survive as they have their brand to rely on. Most small players will die a slow and painful death.
Tell me, what EV does BAuto has to counter Tesla? Now we wait for model 3 price, if it is priced very close to Mazda mid range model, then I tell you Mazda Malaysia is finish.
2023-07-19 00:31 | Report Abuse
Model Y 10,000 bookings. The future is EV old man. Model 3 not yet launch, if priced at RM150K, Mazda confirm GG already. Toyota Honda still can survive as they offer City and Vios. Mazda all so expensive. BAuto got no good EV to offer. Finish.

Johari was able to turn around companies he bought into. But this mynews appears to be a different beast all together. KFC was a very strong brand by itself, the other like CI Holdings and KUB can get projects from the gov, but mynews is more towards retail, something the gov cannot influence. Unless gov buy stuff from mynews, then again, why buy from mynews when the gov can go straight to the distributor?
I wonder how is Johari going to turn mynews around, this is a retail business depends on walk in customers. Somemore involved food. This will be interesting.

am driving a 15 years old Honda car, thinking of changing soon as it is giving me lots of problem now. Been researching on EV, and Mazda CX-30 is the worst EV in the market, even Volvo makes more sense. CX-30 with that small back door for RM198K with 200km range is some kind of joke. Tesla Model Y RM199 with 400km+ range, and they've yet to release the price for Model 3, which will be around RM160-170K with 350km+ range. MX-30 is a toy.
MX-30 uses Lithium-Ion battery, whereas Tesla uses LFP battery from CATL, LFP has less density compares to Li-io but other than that, it is safer, higher cycle rate, doesn't suddenly burst into flame, last longer than Li-io.
BAuto has close to no EV, people rather buy BYD than Mazda EV. That is the problem with Japan, they ignored EV while China pumped in billions into EV/Batteries 10 years ago. USA got Tesla, Germans' BMW is so so as the heart of the EV is with the battery and currently China has the best battery tech for EV, by CATL and BYD, both control 98% of LFP batteries, ford will be licensing this tech from them and build a factory in USA. Volvo got help from Geely.
If BAuto cannot secure a dealership with a chinese company selling EV, they are gone in 10 years time. Pegueot and KIA got nothing much to show also.

BAuto got no EV to offer. Mazda's design is getting dated. Peugeot is so unreliable. Mazda not as affordable as Toyota or Honda, and not cheap like Chinese Geely or Proton... not here not there. No future.
When Tesla Model 3 price is announced, if RM160K, who want to buy Mazda?

I much prefer they focus on supplying milk to starbucks or others, than to compete with them. Now that they are a competitor in the drink section, no way starbucks or tealive or zeus or any drink company will want to buy from them. never feed your competitor.

Last quarter they did make RM40m profit, the losses they registered is due to impairment because they closed down one of their most inefficient factory, just paper loss for accounting reasons. Doubt they will shut down any more factories, thus, if everything is ok, next quarter they will still register a profit, only how much.

if say harta profit maintain at rm40m per quarter and have an average PE of 15 only, it will go to RM1 and hover there for many years. prior to covid, it was at PE30++. TG has an even higher PE. PE is not everything but it just a gauge on investor's sentiment and confidence on the company's future.

Let the free market decides. If you disagree with bosses hiring foreigners, then use your money to vote by visiting FamilyMart. Do not dine at places that hires foreigners. Buy a very very old house and renovate it yourself as newer houses are all build by foreigners, and when renovating, hire 100% locals, walk the talk.

Consumer wants cheap and affordable stuff, local cost more to hire, I can also say because consumer demand low prices, therefore bosses have no choice but to hire cheap foreign workers so that they can sell at lower profit margin. right? unless you are the type that likes to pay more and happy everytime good goes up in price.

1. I've worked in the service industry before, a restaurant to be specific. Why foreigners are better than workers when it comes to working behind the kitchen? They work hard, complain less, can OT anytime, put in 101%. Locals.... they are the opposite. And most important of all, locals will work for 3 or 6 months, sometimes 1 year and then leave, foreigners will work for 2 or 3 years. If turn over is high, very hard to run a business. But for business than needs to communicate with customers, local is better.
2. Why Telco companies hire locals? There are laws, not every industry can employ foreigners, like banking, medical etc. If the laws allows it, bosses will hire.

1. Did they stop selling newspaper and magazine because they choose to do so or they are forced to do so? After lockdown, Bluinc, one of the biggest magazine publisher declared bankrupt, and due to lockdown, many people are dragged to the digital age.
2. Revenue went up because of inflation or sales? You can have RM100 Billion in revenue but if it is due to inflation eating up the profit margin, then RM1 Trillion revenue also useless if it cannot be translated into profit.
3. Do you know why mynews was against the new anti-smoking law?
4. the mynews brand is bad, they should bury it and start a new convenient store by the name of maru, with cute characters (hopefully a cat) and new theme. Sell ready to eat small nasi lemak, teh tarik, bubble tea, kuih all on the go. Maybe it will flop, who knows, better try than to fail using the same strategy expecting a different results.
