Share with you guys what it means to work with "Top 4" audit firms.

Technically, an auditor's job is to audit your accounts, not do your accounts.

However, most if not all topmost audit firms, they are so rigid in that they have an almost standard format of audited accounts that they want. Sampai some specifically want it to be in MS Word. You do in Excel, you do in your format, even though u comply with accounting standards, they don't want. They want you to do EXACTLY in their template.

Whereas for smaller or medium-sized firms, client do their own account, in their own format, janji comply with standards, they just audit, and sign off.

Top 4? Sampah. Rigid and bodoh.

Better keep away also next week from glove counter.

I bought some Harta after it announced a super excellent result . Harta shipped 51 % more than last qtr . Total shipment was 6.7 x 1.51 = 10.117 billions pcs . With a revenue of 3.9 billions , its ASP was 3.9/4.15/10.117 = US 92.9 per 1000 pcs which is 13 % higher than its previous qtr ASP of US 82.5 per 1000 pcs.

Its utilization was 88 % which is a surprise since June was in MCO which allow only 60 % workforce . Based on its 44 billion capacity per year or 11 billions per qtr , the shipment is 9.68 billions . THe balance 10.117-9.68 =0. 437 billions came from its previous qtr inventory which was held back in the warehouse due to shortage of container .
Since both Harta and Kossan seems not really affected by the June MCO , can we assume Supermx will perform the same ?

Assuming a utilization of 88 % , supermx shipment is expected to be
26 /4 x 0.88 = 5.72 billions . Based on last QR briefing , the " lock in " ASP for the end June qtr is between US 80 to 110 per 1000pcs . Take US 90 as Average ASP , the earning will be projected to be

5.72 x 90 x 4.15 x 0.57 = 1.218 billions

Let's hope the coming QR will be another record qtr .

Serba Dynamik says it has responded to issues raised by its former auditor KPMG.
PETALING JAYA: Claims of audit discrepancies involving RM4.54 billion in Serba Dinamik’s transactions are inaccurate, its CEO has said.

The figure has appeared in numerous reports about the oil and gas company’s ongoing legal dispute with its former external auditor KPMG, which the company claims had raised several trivial issues that have since been responded to.


In an interview with FMT, Mohd Abdul Karim Abdullah said he wanted to set the record straight on the company’s recent auditing issues.

“Everyone has read the information wrongly, the RM4.54 billion consists of items that shouldn’t be added together. You cannot add costs and revenue together, which is how the figure has been derived. This goes against financial literacy.

“Perhaps, people are intentionally trying to sabotage us by exaggerating the numbers. We are not ruling this out,” he said.


On April 12, Serba Dinamik’s board was unable to approve the company’s 2020 accounts after KPMG refused to complete its independent audit until issues it raised were addressed.

However, Karim said that even after management had answered KPMG’s queries, the firm declined to continue its audit.

“Among the issues raised to the board were ‘trivial’ audit issues which our management responded to,” he said.


These issues included the inability to verify documents because auditors went to the wrong address and a receptionist’s failure to confirm a staff member’s existence.

Karim said large companies had thousands of staff and receptionists may not know everyone in the organisation. Subsequent checks by Serba Dinamik confirmed the details of the staff member.

“In other instances, the auditors used the social media app truecaller to verify client contact, and made an issue out of the misuse of abbreviations like LLC versus L.L.C.”

Despite responding to these concerns, Karim said Serba Dinamik was still reported to the Securities Commission, which led to the suspension of its shares’ trading and a loss of RM3 billion in market capitalisation.

“This put the company, its institutional investors, normal shareholders and 7,000 staff members at risk,” he said.

Serba Dinamik’s dispute with KPMG has since gone to court. The company filed a lawsuit against KPMG on June 22, claiming that the auditor “negligently red-flagged some issues”.

On June 24, Serba Dinamik announced that KPMG had resigned as its auditor. Ernst & Young Consulting Sdn Bhd (EY) has since been appointed as its special independent reviewer.

In an interview with news portal Free Malaysia Today (FMT), the Serba Dinamik group managing director/CEO said the company is “well and back on track” with its suit against KPMG running parallel with efforts to restore the confidence of its stakeholders.

He further attributed the quick action to bring three new independent non-executive directors (INEDs) on board to review the audit issues in mid-June as key in addressing the matter (however, one of the INEDs, Masleena Zaid, had resigned on June 24 alongside four other INEDs who cited differences in opinion with the board’s decisions as the reason for their departure).

“We reviewed their findings and we agreed that KPMG’s actions were unjustified, hence the lawsuit. As you know, some did not agree with the move and resigned,” Abdul Karim told FMT. “But we stand by our decision to take KPMG to court.”

Abdul Karim further noted that Serba Dinamik has also appointed Ernst & Young Consulting Sdn Bhd (EY), one of the Big-Four auditing firms, to perform a special independent review of the issues raised by KPMG.

He also disputed claims that Bursa Malaysia had forced his company to appoint EY, saying the company had always wanted to appoint EY. “Initially, EY declined because KPMG refused to give them access to their audit findings, but we managed to get Bursa’s assistance to resolve the matter,” he clarified.

With regard to Serba Dinamik’s recent appointment of Nexia SSY PLT as KPMG’s replacement, Abdul Karim told FMT:

“We don’t have anything to hide, that’s why we’ve been so quick to bring in another auditor to look over our accounts. We just want to move past this and get back to business.

“We are in close contact with our clients and banks, updating them on what we’re doing and reassuring them that all is okay. The ship is steady and we are moving forward.”

At 10.27am, Serba Dinamik was up 0.5 sen or 1.23% with 30.12 million shares traded, thus valuing the company at RM1.53 bil. – Aug 4, 2021

if the contracts are fake, dun think the management engage these firms to do the review, logically thinking
