Don't buy O&G now, you better wait a long time before coming in.
Agree that CIMB will not go down much after this, upside potential very good. Economy is a question, but after oil price slide, and petrol price down in malaysia, have some hope for economy to grow good. Only wait for TNB, will they ever reduce their tariff??
I think they will merge the shares into one counter, could be CIMB counter or RHB counter, we don't know yet. Once merged, i think lots of people will buy the shares, many people are avoiding the counters due to the merger.

Of course the Oil price. However the impact of ringgit could be quite immediate to Airasia, no delay-delay

For now, because of the same family name, aax is being hit as well by the downdraft..

In 2007, Jan 2, a plane from Surabaya, flew to ?Mandano? and encountered severe weather, and the plane was lost, exactly like airasia plane. Same airport, timing is about the same too.
The airline was adamair, a low cost airline. The gov of indon asked the airline to pay for search costs. luckily america managed to find the plane and the black box.
Also during the bad weather, a seaship sank in the same area as the plane, and was rescued. News broke out that the airplane passengers survived. But when gov investigator sampai, not people from the plane. Strange story but family members sure pitam twice. Took them 9 months to find the plane, and the NTSB and a us company found it.

From WSJ:
Airasia was allowed to fly daily by Indonesia, from Surabaya to Singapore. However in oct 26, they decided to limit the daily flights, because airasia has carried so many passengers for the year, they will burst their "quota".
Maybe to give some breathing space for other airlines? What kind of decision is this?
Airasia already sold tickets forward, and simply limiting flights like that is not proper. It must be done in a proper way, allowing ample times etc. Further, it was the busiest time of the year and the most booked. It will cost money for airasia. I don't understand this indon decision. And as far as Singapore is concern, they can fly in as planned.

I am also surprised why all the bodies are found by other countries navies, Malaysia sent 3 ships, and each of them found bodies, but indon ships? Where are they?

musashi69, i think our taxis are in worst shape than airasia planes, so don't worry much about it. Somehow news like this are given too much priority. A failed generator is only ground issue, when the plane is flying, a failed generator is not an issue because the engine can supply all required power. Even engines got two, not one.
I agree with DickyMe....some element of sabo cannot be ruled out, that's why must be very watchful

Turbulent flights next few days for us shareholders...
2015-01-05 12:12 | Report Abuse
This is what i have been predicting, that is why i sold off completely and resist from buying. The right time will come up, but it is not now in my opinion.
I absolutely do not think that Airasia with a flawless record on safety will purposely trying to skip maintenance just to save a few bucks. This is not logical, i don't think it is happening. Therefore we all need to be careful with the news. Spinmasters are everywhere. There are a kind of people out there, they are happy only when others are suffering...

Yes it is happening. Volume is lower due to holidays i guess. I will wait a little bit longer before jumping in. We need to know what happen to the plane, and then we also need to assess the reputation of airasia by air travelers..so far looking good. Then what will Indon authorities do, this is quite important and may impact airasia...but since it is mostly indonesian internal issues, i think airasia will also survives intact. So now, just wait for a suitable entry point

Looks like the events turn out better than expected. This is very good news for Airasia. Now the stocks will be going up i guess. However people like me who have sold will have to wait and see for the next pull down for the best entry point. Congrats to those who predicted the outcome well. We all have all of you to thanks for your good conviction.

Looks like Mr TF and staff handled things very well. This is good news for all of us the shareholders. Now we wait for AAX to make the money and give us a good ride as shareholders.

DeHouse, care to share your experience on earning and making money here?

Some people are smart in other things, but not in language. So this is just fine. We help each other.
Let's get back to the topic at hand, which is Airasia. I am not a shareholder at the moment, because i think it will drop some more. I will wait until then.
2014-12-29 13:26 | Report Abuse
Since you asked me, i think the shares will go down some more. I will wait for it.

We all need to predict the price in the future and what the co is doing. This is the reason we own the stock. For you i guess, you just buta-buta buy lah..coz for you nobody including your own poor self, can predict the price. The problem is, you are wrong. We can predict what is the price, but we cannot know what the price will actually be.
You are like someone who is angry at the weather forecast for being wrong, but the name itself imply, it is only a forecast.
Re boasting, we all share our experience in investing, this is what this forum is for. If i don't share, and i guess you will not, then what is the point of talking here? BTW why are you here in the first place? To share or not?
Now please give us some valuable info for our 'predicting' business.
Thanks

Bursa should made a thorough effort to avoid GST by pressing gov. I hope stamp duty will be removed to be fair, otherwise tax upon tax?
2014-12-29 11:20 | Report Abuse
fayeTan, i think applicable to all. I got letter from Bursa mentioning about the GST. So late to remind me, otherwise we should ban together and fight with gov. We already kena stamp duty etc, gov already collect taxes on it, unless they remove stamp duty etc lahh

Last two weeks i have been paring my stakes in Airasia. Lucky i did that. Now i have left only two large tranches, and just now i decided to sell all of it. Reason being, there are big buyers buying the shares, it is good to exit now until the plane is found and the dust settle. I made money on all the tranches, average about 15% profit. My advise to others is, if you are making profit, it is time to let it go for now.
However i still own AAX, so i will wait and see, if price is good, i will buy more of AAX. Overall this action reduces my exposure to a more manageable level, and of course, we need to make profits!

GST on share trading but no GST on gold trading. So unfair. Those gold people managed to get exemption by pressing the gov..
2014-12-29 08:32 | Report Abuse
Guys, all our thesis here will be based only on one thing, and one thing only. If the reputation of Airasia survives intact, then sweep in when the price is low is the best thing to do. This also shows your support to the company by buying its shares. But if the reputation is gone, then lots of sales to be lost by AA, will take a long time to recover.
2014-12-29 08:28 | Report Abuse
This is our worst nightmare too...
Now, the only way to show our support is by buying the shares when it gets very low.
Judge the reputation of the company as much as we can. If the reputation went south by a whole lot, it will reflect in the Q reports, then we will be in for a long long ride ....
2014-12-18 14:27 | Report Abuse
jeht, thanks. BTW how come that gold buying people need not pay any GST and they got total exemption?

Guys, oil will never go up anymore, for a long long time...that is my opinion...it could be 3 to 5 yrs ahead...and by that time, the renewables will be cheaper than oil...so it may never be able to go up

The EPF will not stop the merger. In case merger falls through, cimb shares may go up a bit only. If falls through due to very negative things, shares may go down, not up.
Post merger, share will go up, but must give up to 1 yr post merger...only then can see good result from integration

Today looks like flying on full throttle...this could be the last chance for those who are looking to buy around 66 sen..after this..i don't think this stock is going lower anymore..
Also the powerful seller is targeting around 70 sen..so it will not go higher than around that...until warrants expire...so those who wait to buy at 50s or 40s...probably will miss the boat for good, unless they jump in now..
I am still holding to my tranche, bought at 66 sen..
I will let go above 70sen...when powerful seller pushes down..i will buy again...and when someone buys and it goes up..i will sell again..wahh..as long at this level..can make lots of money
This is the play for the next two months

Now that AAX is turning around, i think everyone who bought it at the lowest point the other day must have turned a big profit already. Congrats for your conviction.
Some news today:
- Lufthansa decided to copy AAX and create a long haul low cost airline, announced in bloomber by its ceo. In fact it is longer haul than AAX, i think more than 12 hrs even.
- AA/AAX announced that will allow single booking across all its network..so can buy ticket from KL to somewhere and then direct to somewhere else. This is important link and simplify booking.
But where is the wifi...pls launch asap..

Amin, since 43% is hedged, most of the fuel is still unhedged and they can still profit from it. So loss and profit on the hedge will contra out, so maybe leave little bit of profit, that's about it. As i said, the person who go for extensive hedge in AAX should be fired. I never like hedging anyway, and who will do extensive hedging at high oil prices??
