Rebar historical price was highest in June 2008, where it hit RM3900/t in Malaysia. Back then China was still higher than Malaysia, at approx RM4100/t. If you examine this year's price trend, we started off the year, we started around RM2200/T in Jan, it dipped below RM2000/T middle of this year. Then went up drastically from Jul to Sep, and hit above RM2700/T (these 3 months are the Q3 period). After Sep, price has since gradually dropped. RM2600 in October and at about RM2400/T (end user price up to 7/11/17). Market demand has been a little weakened but shows slight improvement. My personal take is that, unless the demand/order has increased drastically during this 4th Quarter, comparing Oct-Dec rebar price vs Jul-Sep rebar price, otherwise this QR results is likely to drop.
Analyse Q1 and Q2, you will realise that Q2 revenue dropped compared to Q1, coincidentally, rebar price dropped below RM2000/T in Q2.
The demand vs supply is one of the key determinants of the company's business.

in that case you should go counters like Inari, Uchitec and Penta, and not wasting your time here haha... just delete JHM from your watchlist. When JHM hits RM5, you can revisit.

@apolloang you buy JHM for trading ke or dividen? i think people buy JHM as a growth stock as of now. Not for dividen.

you need PDP experience to deliver this HSR project. cannot malukan malaysia infront of singapore. so far, only Gamuda delivered MRT line 1 successfully and on time. MRCB has yet to prove their delivery ability yet though they are one of the JV partners for the current LRT3 PDP. So you can say in Malaysia most likely, this Gamuda-MRCB JV stand a high chance to win the Tender.
2017-11-28 17:33 | Report Abuse
@YouBuyIBuy, based on track record n experience in PDP, Gamuda prob boasts greater strength in delivering HSR PDP than MRCB. Perhaps i will say this MRCB needs Gamuda to submit a competent tender for HSR PDP.

KUALA LUMPUR (Nov 22): AllianceDBS Research said Nova MSC Bhd (NovaMSC) had on Nov 21 traded higher to 11 sen before closing at 10.5 sen (up 0.5 sen or 5.0%).
In its evening edition yesterday, the research house said NovaMsc continued to trade above the 20-day (blue) and 50-day (red) moving average lines.
“Given the recent share price behaviour, the stock is likely to move between 9.5 sen and 12 sen in the coming few days.
“A fall below 9.5 sen should see further price decline to the subsequent support zone, 8.5 sen – 9 sen.
“However, a rise above 12 sen would lift the stock to the next resistance zone, 12.5 sen – 14 sen,” it said.
AllianceDBS Research said stock volume traded on Nov 21 was 12.6 million shares compared to the 3-month average volume of 4.85 million shares.
The research house said that indicators wise, the MACD was below the 9-day moving average line with the sell signal remains intact.
It said the relative strength index indicated that the stock was currently in a neutral zone.

@csl1991 you are right. i think the determinant is that most contra players or intra players do not have funds to hold. or spare cash. Real investors don't look at 3-4 short days.
2017-11-15 10:08 | Report Abuse
just dont understand why people are moved by one player. EPF bought into many companies, and EPF often comes in and out, i dont see those companies being shaken. shallow investors everywhere. or perhaps, many are not investors, pure goreng kakis. WTS cannot determine the QR results, the results came from the company. if the company is doing well and has good prospects, why worry about who the investors are, or whether an investor is having lunch now or going to the toilet? The owners of the company will strive to do well, unless the company is founded for nothing.

I wondered where the 1 billion new shares for the acquisition come from. Will it be fundraising from the public? The 1 billion new shares cannot be created from nothing. So, once the fund raising starts, I foresee the price will drop. Can anyone advise?

We refer to an article appearing in The Edge Malaysia entitled "Top Glove said to buy Adventa's surgical glove operations" dated 24 October 2017.
The Board of Directors of Adventa wishes to clarify that the Company is no longer involved in the surgical glove manufacturing operations.
Adventa had undertaken a restructuring exercise in 2012 whereby the Company had on 25 July 2012, accepted the offer letter from Aspion Sdn. Bhd. to dispose of all of the surgical glove businesses and undertakings, including the liabilities and assets of Adventa other than the excluded business. The excluded business means all the shares in the capital of Sun Healthcare (M) Sdn. Bhd. and Electron Beam Sdn. Bhd. The disposal was approved by the shareholders on 1 November 2012 and was completed on 30 November 2012.
The Company had made all necessary announcements in respect of the said restructuring exercise to Bursa Malaysia Securities Berhad in compliance with the disclosure requirements in accordance with the Main Market Listing Requirements of Bursa Malaysia Securities Berhad.
This announcement is dated 24 October 2017.

@investoroem - yes, provided it does climb back up in December. But most importantly is the demand / order. The average for 3 months for Jul-Sep (Amsteel/Anjoo/Southern/Masteel) for Klang Valley is about RM2330 (T16-T32) and RM2470 (T40). If in Dec, it can climb back up to 2600 from current ~ 2400 (which is quite unlikely for such sudden jump as tomorrow itself is 1/12), in such ideal case you will get Q4 average around RM2400 (T16-T32) and RM2500 (T40) still... around the average for Q3. So, unless the demand / order book increase, otherwise i foresee the net profits wont be too far off from current Q3, and could potentially drop. Of course there are many other factors we need to consider. So having said that, despite we do have ongoing mega projects such as MRT2, LRT3 etc right now, I am a little doubtful that the demand will surge drastically in short term. ECRL and especially HSR wont trigger the effect so soon (HSR has just started calling tender for PDP role.. expected award by early or mid next year, then only comes with design and tendering out to appoint contractors...), plus with property sector slowing down, looking at current Masteel share price which is considered at high, the call is yours.
