Why does GENTING continues to acquire the Empire Resort stakes of Kien Huat Realty Sdn Bhd (KHR) from its owner Tan Sri Lim Kok Thay ?
What is the benefit for GENTING shareholders !
If you don't know, Empire Resort is expected to remain loss-making for the next five years, according to CGS-CIMB Research.

I was lucky enough to sell out of GENTING stock at a price of rm7.02 in year 2019 before the Empire Resort acquisition.
I'm not sure or don't know if the time has come for me to collect back at least 1/3 of my disposed GENTING stock, previously.

I'll respond to a comment made about HEIM stock.
Q3 EPS FY'23 28.91 & Q3 EPS FY'22 35.99
My amateur math is plain and simple (use calculator and not my small brain cells) ;-
((35.99 - 28.91) / 35.99) * 100% = 19.67% reduction so am expecting HEIM stock price to capitulate from selling pressure accordingly.

A staff from a convenience outlet in KLCC shared with me that "Vuse sells like hot cakes" a few days ago.

I don't want to disappoint you but I did nudge up the price a little bit by rm0.06 with my FOMO purchases from rm8.99 to rm9.05 and I'm happy to report that rm9.00 was not a stronk resistance level.

Of course, it’s so painful for your overall financial wealth to say the least if you’d bought BAT shares at a price higher than rm50 then DCA and still holding on with diamond hands until now.
Such investment or trading methodology/strategy mustn’t be applied to businesses that have been underperforming annually. Nonetheless, opportunity will appear when least expected so always be vigilant and on the lookout for any signs of revival or turnaround, quarterly.

I hope nobody bought BAT shares at a price higher than rm50 and still holding with their diamond hands.

After the disposal of all my GENTING shares in year 2019, I’m so lucky to have got out before its stock price collapse because of Empire acquisition.
Empire is still a loss making casino, unfortunately and will continue to have negative impact for a long time.

I’d conducted BAT selloff entirely, twice.
First instance,
Tesla (TSLA) stock price fell from grace or had a complete meltdown and the opportunity to buy its shares from late Dec, 2022 until Jan 3, 2023 at a price range between usd126 and usd105.10. Sold some of its shares in Sept, 2023 at a price range between usd278.40 and usd273.40.
Second instance,
NVidia (NVDA) stock price had a bad time last month and I didn’t hesitate to grab some shares at a price range between usd428 and usd408. Sold majority of its shares a few days ago at usd499.25.

My take on Heineken Malaysia (HEIM) and Carlsberg Brewery Malaysia (CARLSBG) related to a few earlier comments here.
Short story -> HEIM (Underweight means don't buy) and CARLSBG (Overweight means buy)
Slightly longer story ->
Both of these stocks love to rendezvous at the rm20 price range multiple times already when its price starts to nosedive due to various reasons in the last 5-year timeframe. If you are lucky enough to buy both stocks near rm20, congratz ! You're a winner, for sure.

BAT can be evaluated at a higher PE >16, alongside HEIM & CARLSBG (17 and 19, respectively) when its revenue has bottomed and starts to grow its EPS and DPS.
HEIM & CARLSBG stocks definitely have much better narratives than BAT but unfortunately, I have never invested in either stocks before.

Yes, I’m just talking without facts to back me up but I predict as follows:-
2023 Q1/Q2/Q3/Q4 = 13 / 16 / 19 / 22
Dividend increment of rm0.03 per quarter for financial year 2023 seems doable.

^My gut instinct has convinced me that ?? will most likely beat rm0.21 hence eps & dps for financial year of 2024 can probably outperform a disastrous current year 2023 and then, BAT stock would stage a comeback or reversal from declining revenue.

BAT stock is already oversold and its RSI has dipped below 30.

Checking in with 15,000 BAT shares at rm9.04.

My gut instinct (not my value investing fundamentals or technical analysis) is telling me that BAT Q4 revenue will be reasonably larger than any of its financial 2023 year quarters, so l’m eager to collect some shares of BAT stock when the “buy signal” appears for trading speculation.

As long as revenue for BAT has not bottomed yet, its stock price will keep on dropping lower.

Two negative factors became apparent.
Dividend payout has reduced to 90.91% is a disappointment to say the least while revenue has decreased by 10.52% (QoQ) is plain and simple “underperformed”.

NVDA stock price has an almost impregnable support between usd409.80 and usd401.
It has been traded over a wide price range of about usd101 in the past 4.5 months.
Its H100 chip is in the cusp of an AI revolution that will usher in the Age of Abundance for mankind within a few years from now.
It’s interesting that “in BAT I trust” can find its way out of the doldrum situations eventually.

Unfortunately, a couple of BAT’s Vuse products have been banned in USA.

I’ll return to speculate in BAT stock after I’ve dispose some of my NVidia Corp stock shares that has surged quite substantially yesterday and is expected to rally higher for a few days.

Since there is an opportunity to snap up NVidia Corp stock at a bargain price, I've decided to liquidate all my BAT shares for a small profit.

The pile of shares at rm9.55 were gobbled up. BAT stock price is no longer so cheap, anymore.

…seems like there is a big timer wallop some shares at around rm9.50 while I was still thinking about increasing my position in BAT. Guess I may have to pay more money at a higher stock price to hold about 100,000 shares eventually.

Sorry, I’ve to pick up an additional 20,000 shares at various prices above rm9.35 and caused a small spike up because of just a few sellers.

It’s widely known that ~85% of Berkshire Hathaway total investible funds are concentrated in 11 stocks and AAPL constitutes ~46%.
I’m just holding 2 US Nasdaq stocks for long term investments and 1 Bursa stock for trading speculation however will expand my stock portfolios to 7 when the opportunity arise.

While I’ve to admit I don't follow all the tenets of Value Investing because I do engaged in a little bit of extremely risky trading speculation up to 5% of my stock portfolio total funds just because I’m also an ardent advocator of technical analysis on stock price charts and patterns.

My dad had bought “The Intelligent Investor” hardcover book by Benjamin Graham for rm118.38 in year 2005 and I’ve inherited it from him after he’d passed away a couple years ago.
The original 1949 edition is “By far the best book on investing ever written.” as quoted by Warren E. Buffett and has acclaimed to be the classic text on value investing.

Most probably, the introduction of vape tax will be imposed.

This is not a stock to employ DCA strategy for sure.
Of course, I’ve never doubted your stance on BAT long term downtrend bias and -ve outlook overall or in general.

When BAT stock price fell below rm9.26, the decision to sell 13,000 shares of MBB + 1,000 shares of UTDPLT was easy to make.
Then, picked up 14,000 shares of BAT at rm9.24, yesterday and today.

Based on technical analysis of BAT stock price demise yesterday, rm8.63 has appeared as stronk support.
I’m surprised that there was virtually no bounce from rm9.26 touted by me as a stronk support previously.

Its stock price has crushed the death cross mark as indicated by Moving Average (200 & 50) since May 2023 and RSI remains deep rooted in oversold territory means that the BAT bears have massive balls to assert control over the lack of bulls, in this case.

Why did I just buy 3,000 shares of BAT at rm9.34 ?! It’s insanity!

Bought a few thousand shares of BAT at rm9.57.
Simply outrageous as common sense did not prevail in this instance.

When I’ve funds available to invest in Bursa’s stocks, 80% goes to MBB and 20% uneven split with a hot stock (UTDPLT) + a sexy speculative stock (BAT).
Just sold 50 shares of TSLA at usd278.40 and eager to burn some of it up in smoke with BAT.
An additional 60 shares of TSLA at usd283.40 is still outstanding in the sell queue.
Trying to load up on some dry powder for at least 3 “rainy” seasons.

You see the glass half full while there are others see it half empty while I don’t bother to see the glass at all so that I remain skeptical and also, objective about the final outcome.

Vuse popularity worldwide is in excess of 35%. BAT must be diligent and rise to the challenging occasion to get this product known or well received in Malaysia.

Why TSLA stock you might ask or wonder ?!
I know that TSLA didn’t fulfil the entire tenets of value investing however if Charlie Munger as the Vice Chairman of Berkshire Hathaway can “gung ho” into BYD stocks, so I believe that TSLA can be a viable choice because I’m convinced that it envisages to become an AI-powered autonomous robotics company.

A majority of my stock holdings are in AAPL (since 2016 when Warren Buffett made his initial foray into the tech sector) and TSLA stocks (just recently, Jan 2023 after Elon Musk has promised to defer selling his shares for about 2 years).
Sold 100 shares at usd273.40 of TSLA and bought 13,000 shares at rm9.12 of MBB one day before ex-date.
The above 3 stock holdings are my low to minimum risk category long term investment.

I shall be embroiled in trading speculation with UTDPLT & BAT stocks to mitigate unwarranted risks.
I won’t sell BAT 1,000 shares bought at rm9.68 (tiny unrealised loss) because my overall position is being mitigated or balanced by UTDPLT 1,000 shares bought at rm16.24 (tiny unrealised gain).
