PUTRAJAYA, Dec 2 — Malaysia will closely monitor the deployment of the Covid-19 vaccine in the United Kingdom, following reports of Pfizer-BioNTech’s approval for its vaccine to be used among the public and healthcare workers there by next week.
Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said the ministry intends to monitor the developing situation there, to determine the vaccine's effectiveness and the emergency of any potential side-effects.
"We will have plenty of time to see how things work out there. If within the first three months its usage in the UK is stimulating with less documented side-effects, it may encourage our confidence in using it as well," he said during his press conference.

Kanger International Bhd (0170)
• KANGER dropped 2.7% or 0.5 sen to RM0.18 yesterday.
• Chart-wise, share price has been in consolidation mode for some time with trading volume
improving of late showing signs of stealth buying pattern. News of the company signing
collaboration agreement Sinopharm to distribute Covid-19 vaccine and has received support from
Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation is likely to spur buying interest as one of the potential
vaccine-play stocks.
• From here, resistance levels are expected at RM0.195 (R1) and RM0.230 (R2) level.
• On the downside, support levels are set at RM0.160 (S1) and RM0.120 (S2).

Sinopharm had indicated earlier that they will only release its clinical trial data only after approval from Chinese Health authorities. If Noor Hisham's news is used as basis, that means approval of Sinopharm is imminent next week. I hope I am right.

I believe it will be from Sinopharm as they had already submitted for registration with China Health regulators.
It cannot be Pfizer as their meeting with FDA is on 10/12 and details cannot be revealed until then. Astrazeneca is going trough retrial. Cansino is due only in 2022. Sinovac a bit quiet on their registration.

KUALA LUMPUR: The Health Ministry is expected to receive data on phase three of the Covid-19 vaccine clinical trial from one of 10 companies it is negotiating with.
Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said the report "will most likely" be ready next week, but stressed that the vaccine will only get a green light if the company is able to acquire a licence.
"After receiving (the report), we will study it. (Later), the vaccine will be brought to the National Pharmaceutical Regulatory Agency (NPRA) and the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for their approvals.
"If the vaccine is neither approved nor licensed, it means it can't be sold like other medicines in the country.

Frankly, I see no problems in the qr. I have seen worse ones. Most importantly in any recession or in this case pandemic, there must be an ongoing business and with low overheads and strong cash flow to pull through. In fact, I am going to load more if the price falls below my average price.

@jasonred, what you are saying now about warning is totally not what you posted earlier. No relevance.
"When Sinopharm gets approval, most of the marketting and distribution rights for Malaysia will go to GI Healthcare. Kanger only signed with Sinopharm Medical Hunan Changde.

Anyway, TQ for your concern and warning.

@jasonred, tq for being up front. Just to let you know I did not go to the extent of asking my lawyers but I have a copy of SSM search on GI Resources. So no need to go into details. Of course I would not invest without knowing a little bit about the company.
Maybe you did not know, Kanger China is actually a 70:30 Private Public JV with local Government in Jingzhou Hunan, so not surprising they can sign an agreement with Sinopharm Hunan as well. In corporate world especially in a state owned company involving such high profile vaccine, it is impossible to ignore whatever agreements especially when it involve its subsidiaries. It may not be in the know then but once it is made known, agreements must be honored. That's how business operate.
Enjoy the process of investment. If it gives you discomfort or stress, then it is better not to get involved. many good counters out there for you to pick. I would be happy to hear more contributions from you in future but please be prepared to substantiate your arguments. Good luck.
To my fellow Kanger investors, pls excuse this noobie ranting. Hahahaha...

On 2nd thoughts, No one will do any business with a shell company. You need setup, operations, experience, credibility and distribution network. We are talking about medical care with no time to spare. Having lots money and powerful people is just not good enough.
2020-11-30 14:31 | Report Abuse
@jasonred, My thoughts would be Kanger investors are more into the on going business of the company ie world largest processor of bamboo products for floor and furniture, sand export from Malaysia and antibacterial castings.
Vaccine would be a short term contract, more like a bonus business opportunity. The first vaccine to be approved would make most money, the last one to be approved would be left holding the crying baby. It applies to every vaccine counter from Bintai to HWGB, etc.
Long term investors would talk about ongoing business, short term investors would be looking only at vaccine. My 2 sen worth. I believe you are a short term investor. Nothing wrong with that, it is absolutely alright to look for quick profits in share market.
