Stony make a mistake of thinking disposal of capA' aviation to AAX will allowed capA to exist PN17.

The move had resulted in advisors/valuer to properly value capitalA' aviation net worth.
That is valution based on future net profit minus the net liabilities that going to be transfered to AAX.
So what will be the net worth of capA' aviation?

Kenanga Research said based on its financial year 2024 net profit of RM250mil for Capital A’s airlines business and applying low-cost carriers’ peer one-year forward price earnings ratio of between seven times and 14 times, the indicative valuation works out to between RM1.8bil and RM3.5bil.

Following several years of significant investment in production capacity in China, a perfect storm is hitting the chemicals market, as increased global capacity meets weakening demand. The global oversupply of petrochemicals is expected to hit a record 218m tonnes in 20231 and China is continuing to add capacity, with almost 140m tonnes expected to come onstream in 2023, well in excess of previous years.

Against the backdrop of a worsening macroeconomic outlook and a strong US dollar, chemical market participants are having to contend with an unprecedented level of uncertainty within the industry.

BARCELONA (ICIS)–As waves of new capacity come onstream in China and the Middle East, stagnant demand growth and falling margins are increasing pressure on chemical companies to permanently close older facilities.

Wave of oil-to-chemicals projects will flood market
Global operating rates forecast at 80% to 2030, from 88% long term average
Huge pressure on non-integrated/high-cost facilities to close
More plant closures could be driven by high costs, low demand, decarbonization
High closure costs include environmental cleanup, redundancy payments
Upstream integration to refineries prevents closures
Chemical industry could reinvent itself as service provider
Q3 Europe margins low or negative
Q4 margins improve as oil prices fall
No sign of improvement in downstream demand

Know who are the lenders and borrowers of shares for RSS?

To boost retail participation in the domestic market, Bursa Malaysia and Affin Hwang Investment Bank Bhd teamed up in January to launch the first SBL facility for retail investors. Through this facility, retail investors are able to lend securities that they own but do not intend to sell immediately to Affin Hwang, which serves as the borrower.

Borrowers are typically large financial institutions such as prime brokers and hedge funds while lenders are generally large institutional investors such as pension and sovereign wealth funds.

The short sellers must buy back and return the shares they borrowed within three market days, or face penalties from the exchange. The number of shares they must buy back depends on the market conditions and their risk appetite.

Fact check.
Mabel release/should be cut lose all at 79 and collected back at 74 sen.

The short sellers must buy back and return the shares they borrowed within three market days.
False.
The SBL mechanism allows, say, a borrower who expects the price of a stock to fall to hold a short position for a prescribed duration. The borrower immediately sells the securities in the hope of profiting from the sale and buys them back later when price falls.

During this period, ownership of the securities is provisionally transferred to the borrower, who pays all dividends due to the lender. The lender also receives an agreed-upon fee — which is usually an annualised percentage of the value of the loaned securities — from the borrower. The securities are returned to the lender at the end of the deal.

The Edge Financial Daily quoted Affin Hwang’s SBL equity finance senior associate director Karu Ramesh Kumar as saying that retail investors could earn interest income of 0.5% to 12% per year, depending on the supply of and demand for the stocks they own.

I make my comments here to remind all i3bloggers to take resposibility on what they wrote when promoting stocks in i3.

Veteran like stockraider can even daydreaming about his netx: "I dreamed i saw a big screen showing Netx is price Rm 1.00
then i checkTo my cds there is 2.62m of netx
and the warrant cds there was 1.31m at 90 sen
i key & filled my netx sell orders they matched at 2.62m share at rm 1.04
i key & filled my netx-w 1.31m & that was matched at 95 sen
And 3 days later & go to the bank there is rm 3.96m showing in my bank account"

That can only mean either calvintaneng writting on Netx is very convincing or stockraider is too naive.

Remember always take any stock recommendation by i3blogger with a pinch of salt.

The BOD is in a very difficult position as they know the reasons given for not giving a better dividend are weak and unresonable. But they cannot do anything as the decision is from controlling shareholder Dato' Sri Thong.

As of why the controlling shareholder Dato Sri Thong with PAC (his brother and family members) holding 32.96% Insas like to keep the dividend low and thus share price of Insas low is a mystery to me.

Maybe the only hope for Insas is a deep pocket share activist come in and take over Insas.

My sincere thanks to all the shareholders who attended the AGM and keep pressure on BOD for a better dividend.

Will see what will be the next dividend amount?

We expect FY2024 to be another tough and challenging year due to numerous global and domestic negative factors such as inflation risk, rising borrowing costs, rising costs of living, the on-going Russian-Ukraine war and the Israel-Palestine conflict. The prudent and conservative approach of the management and the Board in maintaining sufficient cash reserves to meet the funding requirements of key business unit such as moneylending and investment divisions, and also provide flexibility for the Group to invest in good investment opportunities that may come along.

The Board, after careful consideration, has proposed to maintain a stable 2.5 sen cash dividend per ordinary share which will provide a reasonable dividend yield of 2.8% at current market price, and to preserve and reinvest the retained earnings for the long-term growth of the Company, for prudent and cautious financial management practices and to safeguard against the global economic uncertainties

As stated in Question 10, the Board will review and evaluate the financial performance, the availability of free cash and funding commitments of the Group & the Company and the global economic outlooks for the next 1 year before deciding any additional dividend that may be proposed and declared by the Company

15-Dec-2023 RESIGNATION Director ENCIK AHMAD AL FAROUK BIN AHMAD KAMAL View Detail

When a company is on the brink of insolvency, directors ought to consider different stakeholders such as shareholders, creditors, and employees during the exercise of interest balancing. The Companies Act 2016 (“CA 2016”) codifies a general duty on directors’ conduct of trading in a company close to the point of insolvency and any potential liabilities on that account. In broad terms, ‘insolvent trading’ may also be referred to as ‘wrongful trading’ and ‘fraudulent trading’.

Wrongful Trading
In the CA 2016, an offence of wrongful trading is captured in section 539(3) that:

“…an officer of the company who knowingly was a party to the contracting of a debt had, at the time the debt was contracted, no reasonable or probable ground of expectation, after taking into consideration the other liabilities, if any, of the company at the time, of the company being able to pay the debt, commits an offence…”

Fraudulent Trading
Whereas section 540(1) of the CA 2016 stipulates an offence of fraudulent trading as below:

“If it appears…that any business of the company has been carried on with intent to defraud the creditors of the company or creditors of any other person or for any fraudulent purpose, the Court may declare that any person who was knowingly a party to the carrying on of the business in that manner shall be personally responsible…”

If an offence under section 539(3) has been made out, offenders may be punishable with a maximum imprisonment of 5 years or a maximum fine of RM500,000, or both. Reading together with section 540 of the CA 2016, it is added that the offender may even bear personal liabilities for the payment of the whole or any part of the company’s debt without any limitation of liability upon a court’s declaration
