"Hope" is never a plan.......but it's worth clinging onto for a better future for our families.

There are two thoughts that keep reoccurring in my mind that almost makes me want to vomit. One is Moo, Azmin and Hadi holding their arms aloft in victory, the other is Ismail, Zahid and Hadi doing similar.

I genuinely doubt I'd want to remain in this country if any of those options were to become reality.

I keep HOPING it won't eventuate this weekend.

bang_miskin, as you say there is definitely an undercurrent in our country towards a far more right wing interpretation of Islam. Perhaps I'm being naive but I don't believe this belief is palatable by the majority of Malays, however those shouting about more Islamic laws shout a lot louder and cause more unrest than the majority of Malays who want a more open minded lifestyle. That is an annoyance to me and one that I regularly talk about with my friends from a Malay background.

I don't know whether it has been luck by meeting the "right type" of Malays but I can honestly say that all the Malays I am friends with are lovely people. All have jobs, a few have their own business..........and more importantly we treat each other with mutual respect and visit each others homes for meals and get togethers, just the way life should be.

I fail to see why anyone of any race can't get along with someone of another race.........except for those who are at the extreme end of the racist spectrum.

This nonsense we are served regularly about Malaysia being a multi race society is crap. Go to the UK, or Australia and see how many more races are in those counties. I was managing a division of a multinational company in Australia for quite some time and those who worked there working in either office roles or the factory floor were from a large group of nations. There were Australians, English, Scottish, Vietnamese, Indian, Sri Lankan, Serbian, Lebanese and Poland.

With that large mix of people to manage, I never once had an issue with race. Think about that......not even once!

Why? Because they were all working there to make money, feel secure in their job and advance in their lives. The one guy whom I mentored to take up a managerial position was an Indian Muslim. Not once was religion ever mentioned, the guy was very impressive and soaked up information like a sponge. He went on to be a manager on another state in Australia and we still keep in regular contact.

So, it's not a dream that we all can't get along. We just need to have similar goals.

bang_miskin, there is no such thing as any Party being "pro market". In the main, the market is dictated by the health of the economy and overall sentiment.

No matter who wins on Saturday, none of them has a magical potion to instantly turn round the economy. There are currently far too many local and global concerns to be addressed before any meaningful change, unfortunately.

Rest assured, if PH were to win and they start to make moves to reduce subsidies they will get slaughtered by the Parties that lost. The very same Parties whose Finance Minister clearly stated midway through this year that the country could no longer afford to retain the subsidies such as fuel and electricity. The same FM who then decided to become a fulltime politician for UMNO and delivered the recent budget.......with subsidies remaining.

I'm not a political beast, in fact I treat them all with varying degrees of contempt, however I dread the thought of this country being rum by either PN/Pas combo or the more likely UMNO/ PAS combo.

I don't know what PH will deliver if they were to win as there are an unknown force, as the last time they held office for 22 months was laced with the Tun M nonsense...... BUT it surely has to be far more palatable than the other two options I've just mention.......as we know what we will get from their tried and tested toxicity.

When politicians sink to this level you can be assured that they are bereft of any policies to improve our country.

Every party should slaughter Moo over this statement, however I doubt there will be many doing that, apart maybe for PH.

This garbage makes me furious and I dread to think how this country will ever evolve if this is allowed to carry on.

A bit of a strange day for Tenaga yesterday. Decent buying of around 1.1 million shares in the closing auction, closing it up 18 cents. No new shorts yesterday.

An optimist could say it might be about to break out above 8.50.
A pessimist could say it's on its way back down to 8.20.

izoklse2022 , what you say you are apparently seeing "on the ground" is very different to what I have experienced in recent weeks, especially the last two weeks. The Malaysians with a Malay background that I either know or who are friends of mine are saying almost the complete opposite of what you are suggesting. Most of my friends of Malay background are either working class or "middle class", although I dislike using those terms. From talking with them, there seems to be an underlying anger about what is going on in the country and as one clearly stated...."I an totally fed up reading almost everyday about new corruption cases, it has to stop".

I understand her anger, as I'm also furious in having to read all the nonsense every day that is going on with the country.

Amongst my wider group of friends from all backgrounds it is very clear to see that they have very similar thoughts.

I REALLY hope this is a sign that more people have the same feelings and want this country to change.

If it doesn't, I really fear the consequences for the future of Malaysia. I want a vibrant and inclusive Malaysia and it seems there is only one way for that to happen. If it doesn't, then I genuinely believe we will continue down the ever increasing slippery slope that we are now definitely on.

Our kids not only need a future, they need a future with hope and equal opportunities.

If BN and PAS jointly have the required numbers then we know what we are in for.

Just to follow up from my previous post, this recent spike started from a closing price of 88 cents to a high closing point of 1.16.
The Fib retracement point of 38.2% came in at 1.053, coinciding with the intraday low of 1.05 on Tuesday

AmInvest came out with a technical update on PTrans this morning, stating....."the near-term resistance level is seen at RM1.20, followed by RM1.30".

I took a look at the technicals and used my faithful Fib calcs to see what I could come up with, results below.

Scenario 1: TP1 1.22, followed by TP2 1.34.
Scenario 2: TP1 1.23 followed by TP 1.30.
Scenario 3: TP1 1.24, followed by TP 1.32.

Summarised at TP1 between 1.22 and 1.24.
TP2 between 1.30 and 1.34.

For any of this to happen, we'd need to see a break of 1.13 and 1.16.......with support holding at 1.05.

Just my technical charting thoughts.

I'd say your option 4 is possibly closer to the mark as this could release extra value with certain synergies between PTrans and KIP REIT being developed over time.

With the Bidor Terminal Project currently under construction, I will be keeping an eye out for any developments in regards to new tenancies and in particular the types of tenants they may attract. It's very early days in this possible new collaboration but worth watching and keeping an ear close to the ground for any upcoming news.

I also have the feeling that cross docking logistics is something they will be very keen to develop further with the sites they own and also the ones they currently manage or will be managing in the future. That initiative could become very lucrative.

I actually hope it can start delivering profits, as it baffles me how a company that has the highest sales by volume globally can't turn a profit for their products.

They are struggling to even turn a profit, as input costs have risen so much over the past 2 years. There might be an eventual recovery for them but to say they will be delivering highest ever profits is way over the top.
Let's see what they can deliver over the next 3, 6 and 12 months to see if they are able to get out of this loss making position.

I was thinking last night about what plans Karex could be coming up with to nove the price up, as we have seen recently. The obvious one that came to mind was to increase the price of condoms they manufacture for the major companies like Durex, although they haven't done that during the rising input prices over the last 2 years.

The other option was something they suggested about a year or so ago, where they start producing and marketing their own brand of condoms for the global market.

Apart from that, I've got nothing..........unless it's merely what they mentioned a few weeks ago about their Thailand glove manufacturing plant getting closer to coming online.

I missed the boat, so I'll sit this one out for now.

EPS down to 6.2 cents.

It's beyond me how this is still trading above Rm6.

It's nice to see yesterday's rise consolidating today with a mild rise on lightish volume, at least so far (midday break). No indications yet that sellers are willing to drop their stock down to the bidders.

From the technicals I'd anticipated this current rise to play out last month, around mid September, but when the overall market weakened at the same time it obviously didn't eventuate. Now that we have a slightly more buoyant market it seems to be on the move.

As I mentioned about a month or more ago, 92.5 cents was a Fib point that needed to be broken with the next important break point around 97.5. Obviously it sailed through 92.5 yesterday, so let's see it it has enough gas in the tank to take on and break 97.5.

My current Fib. points are:
92.5
97.5
1.01................and if a turbocharger is installed, then 1.12.
That turbo price may require a very, very solid quarterly, in around 4 weeks time :)

Downside points if it breaks below 92.5 are:
89.5
87.5
82.5.

Just my technical thoughts, don't shoot the messenger.

stkoay, I'm more than a bit dubious about the prediction of the KLCI hitting 1,571 by Election day. A 120 point rise in around 4 weeks are things dreams are made of...lol.....but stranger things have happened :)

As for RHB, it still remains frustrating to watch it float around at current levels, particularly as I'd expected it to be over Rm6 this year. Once the dividend payout and DRP are over and done with by November 7 I'm expecting a bit more interest in this stock.

Let's hope so, anyway.
