BIMB is a good counter, did the right thing by buying back its shares at a good price of about 3.00, considered cheap. However at PE of about 20 now (most banks PE below 16)and rights coming up, its on a high side.
It looks like dropping below 4.50.
I will only take a serious look at it when its below 4.00

You are welcome. Abundance. Though we may disagree on some issues, its always a matter of opinion based on our perception and interpretation of the facts before us. We are here to share knowledge and info before deciding on whether to invest our hard earned money into any counters, immaterial blue or penny.
At the end of the day, we hope to prosper together.

If there is indeed a designed loss of 25 Mil in 2012, I trust the management even less. Its one thing to have poor business due to cycle or product, it can be rectified. But to deliberately manipulate accounts to show losses is clearly CBT.
I will read your post later. TQ.

anbz, you should make less personal attacks. Argue your case with fact and figures. Concentrate on the issue at hand, not the people. By selling VESALIUS alone to regional hospitals can it bring the company to more profit? Revenues are falling. What source of income is expected to push revenue up? Be a good salesman and promote your product, not belittle people.

Hafiz, at least other countries are fighting as a nation. Here we don't need external enemies as we continue to fight among ourselves. Rumahtangga sendiri tak aman, macam mana nak menghadapi cabaran dari luar?

Politics aside, let talk business. A local business or jaguh kampong can only sell to local consumers. What is the market like compared to the rest of the world? Our local automotive industry is a typical example. Japan, Korea is doing well bcoz it can penetrate world market from their brand names like Honda, Samsung etc.
Here we are blessed with natural resources and some companies are of world class standard. But we run them down and try to kill them off? Why? Bcoz they say the cost of doing business is too high? Instead of improve our competitive edge, people like anbz says he is anti govt, arrogant etc.
Wake up, everybody. Our export is dropping monthly very fast. Our ringgit is dropping to record low. So if we don't sell overseas what will happen to our economy. Continue to be over sensitive to constructive criticism, mix politics with business and we will see ringgit back to 1998 exchange of 4 to 1.

That is how a company will end up being 6 sen.

bones, better stick to doing research. The mission is to win the war. Then you need a plan. No plan will say you must kill 100 enemies and stick to that number. If you have 105 enemies, you stop at 100 as you say, the 5 left will kill you. The plan must be flexible for your commanders to execute. In share market context, your target is 2.30, as it goes up, you reevaluate the result and your plan. If there is potential for it to go to 2.50 based on your reevaluation, you readjust your TP and cut loss price. That's flexibility.
From Shirley, Sun Tzu don't like war. You are right, that's why he said prepare for war, sue for peace.
From anbz, Chinese army useless. That is also true. The Art of War was useful for only a certain period, after which it was found to be too rigid and restrictive. Certain parts of The Art of War can still be applied, though not many.
In the market today, I prefer to use the Principles of War, which is 2000 years after The Art of War, and more relevant. Some practical principles besides flexibility are Concentration of force, economy of effort and element of surprise.

My observation. Children learn from role models. Parents are their role models. Don't tell the kids to save, bla bla bla when the parents use plastic cards for purchase, personal loans from 2 banks, change car every 3 years, and everything in the house is hire purchase.

Hahaha. Ya, a bit exaggerated. If taken literally, target sell at 2.30, then sell at 2.31, you lose. Not like that lah. Most important, know yourself and know your enemy.
2013-08-06 18:16 | Report Abuse
kslee you are right. Sun Tsu says win your battle without killing a single enemy. In battle one cannot plan to kill x number of enemies, since we don't know how many are there in the first place. But that's besides the point.

Hahaha, I am just stating the facts. Don't get your hopes too high and wait for the next Q report and AGM or whatever just to see if there is any future in NOVA.
2013-08-06 09:05 | Report Abuse
If takeover with capital injection, its good, classical example was Harvest, a door making company thought to be takeover by Raymond Chan. Price jump from 10 sen to 2.10, then drop like stone.
So is anyone interested in buying over Nova? That's the Million dollar Question.
2013-08-06 08:55 | Report Abuse
anbz, quite improbable. So far capital repayments are made when company sells off their subsidiaries, have plenty of cash left and distributes that cash as capital repayment. Buy a loss making company is usually CAPITAL INJECTION and reverse takeover, or commonly known as backdoor listing.
2013-08-06 08:46 | Report Abuse
Companies that closes shop will sell their assets, pay their loan and creditors and whatever remains will be returned to shareholders, in that particular order. Nova NTA is 5 sen last Q, will probably be lower this Q, so how much can they give the shareholders as CAPITAL REPAYMENT?
Even MEAMODE shareholders with NTA of more than rm1 might not get a single sen after selling their assets to pay off their loans and creditors.

Don't forget those promoting high price are those holding Iris, hoping to sell to you the moon.

Abundance, that's not surprising. A good investor will study companies by sector. He must have picked mbsb with best chance to succeed in the finance sector and dumped his money there.
However will he tell anyone when to sell or will he inform after clearing his position? If he starts to favour another finance counter, that's the hint he has moved out of mbsb.

LOL, its not my choice. bsngpg chose cimb as his investment for his son. Zhulian for his daughter.

Right Issues not announced yet. Just the IBs looking at mbsb books and opines that the only way to go is rights issue to beef up its paid up capital. They are looking at end of year where rights will be carried out.
2013-08-04 23:35 | Report Abuse
bsngpg, its your right to buy any counter you wish. Personally I prefer Zhulian. I know you bought it at lower price and therefore reluctant to purchase more at higher price even though the counter is good long term investment.
My advice is try to buy best of class, meaning MLMs, Zhulian, finance, CIMB, maybe look into consumer or O&G counters rather than another MLM counter.

Of course the sweetener will be there. Free warrants.
Benefit shareholders? Depends. You need to read the letter to shareholders carefully. Many factors to consider, will discuss only if it materialise.
Personally, I will not subscribe to rights if mbsb remains above 2.50.
2013-08-04 22:45 | Report Abuse
Forget about the 1.7 B shares, its just a company figure.
Lets say rights 1 for 1 at rm1 per right.
Price of mbsb at rights 3.00.
So its 3 + 1 divide 2, giving the Xrights price as 2.00
My guess is the rights will be at least 2.00, making the Xrights at 2.50.

That's the price expected after rights. But it was not mentioned the rights price and ratio. Stick to the original figure (3.60) so not to confuse yourself.

Abundance, you may be interested to look at mbsb call warrants. There is a big gap between buy and sell. Buyer asking for huge discount, and IB wont even up the buy price. The mbsb cm is 10 sen difference, that's a 30 sen gap. Shows the IB has no confidence the present price will sustain.

Zhulian and Amway are good examples of MLM direct sales companies that sells quality products rather than dependant on membership fees. As this is the HAIO discussion, I did not want to drag other companies in, but just to highlight what HAIO's recruitment strategy is.
Though I study financial statements of companies, its just a history, and not necessary of what things to come. I prefer the feeling on the ground, talking to people directly involved or affected and have some idea where the product or company is heading to.
Today's analysts (banks and IBs) just sits in front of their computer and after keying some numbers, comes out with their magical target price. There is a particular counter which is terribly affected by the recent BNM ruling, yet many analysts are TP ing at 25 to 30% above its present price. I shudder to think of the consequences should it drop by 30% in 6 months time. The analyst will just downgrade the counter as price drops, leaving the poor investor who followed their recommended TP to hold the baby. But in this case, its the investor who is crying.

I am telling from my experience with friends and survey.
Zhulian is direct sales, not MLM like HAIO where you need to deposit 33K to be a member and given 20 water dispensers.
That was what the downlines were getting. In order to recoup, they have to recruit new members and be reimburse 6K per member. Need I say more.
Suggest you all go down to the ground and mix with 'normal' people to know the truth.

Hafiz, I just looked at it last report. Revenue 5.1M, 2.5M loss. With such poor result, am surprised SC allowed them to issue free warrants. They issue themselves bonus warrants, sell everything away knowing the company will collapse into PN 17 soon. I wont be surprised 20 sen also they will sell.
Minority shareholders kena kencing.
