ultra-laggard. anyway, paying divvy, AND making profit (what a NORMAL company is supposed to do - surprise!) so i saw no reason to sell.
that RHB TP of 1.38 - monkeys. seriously.
-thats what you get when you pay ppl RM2500/mth salary

Really like their reliable dividend payouts. I am surprised investors seem to ignore this counter considering low interest rate environment. Unfortunately no sexy story like lush govt contracts or oil and gas or najib's son. hahaha

"Appears that institutional players are out in force to support this counter" - how so?
anyone with a spare 320K can buy 1 Mil shares. does that mean i can be considered an "institution"?
-by the way Mr Mohd Nazifuddin Mohd Najib quoted "according to sources" (my all time favorite newspaper line) - up to you to decipher deep meaning.

financial journalist and newspaper editors also need to 'cari makan'. how to survive on RM4000 per month?
the answer - mention any UMNO politician or their children joining a new company (of course, ensure you buy as many shares the day before). and use the FAMOUS line "according to sources" to PROVE you are a real journalist, worthy of the Star or Edge newspapers!
Cheers!

"but the issue is the "unsual" movement the day"
-the guys had been blogging since 2011 with 400+ articles. probably has some sort of following by now.
-is there some sort of rule book for stock price movements? if you were holding the stock and it went up 20% in one day, would you be be crying and moaning about "unusual" movements?
-what do you mean by syndicate? are you implying the big banks are acting like syndicates in putting up favorable analyst reports and vice versa? or is it ONLY big banks and financial publications that are allowed to be sell-side stock promoters so they can "pump and dump" their own stocks?

you guys sound so 'in the know'. wow. great. i we here to talk about investments? or 'inner circle'???
this stock has risen approx 127% over the last five years (excluding dividends).
i don't care about various conspiracy theories and base speculation about 'takeover', 'inner circle', 'political loans' etc etc.
just continue to give me returns year after year, no headaches. so i don't have to think so much rubbish. just enjoy the ride!

We could extended that line of logic to any composite index member. so why not discuss possible takeovers for Hong Leong, Astro, Sime Darby, even Maybank, since they are all so dirt cheap in USD terms?

whatever you say man. RM77 billion. is small change. good for you.
PE funds don't just walk in and buy major 'composite index' banks of sovereign nations btw.
no political clout - then how come it is a member of composite index, plus major part of EPF, PNB, Amanah Saham etc etc....

Pretty much. Bill Gates, Carlos Slim, maybe China Govt can buy PBBANK. Everyobe else can fly kites. ROTFL
If its anybody doing the "takeover" it will be PBANK.

more info for those taking about "takeovers"
CIMB Mkt. Cap. 60,689,880,400
SIME Mkt. Cap. 58,761,194,979
In other words, PBANK is MORE valuable at RM77,720,409,707.

no one. what kind of ridiculous question is that. its the same as asking - who will take over Sime Darby? or who will take over CIMB?
pretty dumb questions. its a Composite index member. not some small time bank.

if you're dumb enough to buy on the day he releases the report without doing your own analysis, then YOU'RE the fool. don't blame others after you make the decision to push the buy button. only yourself to blame.

your call alex. do your accounting every Q, bi-annual or yearly. Tally up how much you spent on commission, stamp duty etc. (it has nothing to do with 3+1, 7+1, 9+ 1).
The more transactions you make, the greater your gifts to your broker and bursa, via brokerage, stamp duty and fees. this is a fact. the numbers don't lie. you are only fooling yourself if you say otherwise.
i'm just saying in case some newbie thinks DT is a "brilliant" idea. but that said , it is your $$$ and your decision to make.
your call!
Cheers!
oh and btw, when the volume is "counter is being transacted in high volume on that day" you should SELL the stock on that day (if you are holding it), not buy.

Selling Shovels To Prospectors?
-bit.ly/1n6Ih6u
Both historically and currently, the most successful businesses were/are involved in selling shovels to prospectors, literally and metaphorically speaking.
Back in the gold rush days of the mid-1800s the hope for gold riches was running rampant among the masses. Prospectors rushed to California in hopes of striking it rich. In order to make an attempt at these riches they needed gear. Shovels, axes, pans, food, a roof over their heads, and so on.
The business owners (brokers, exchange) who really struck it rich during this time were the ones who didn’t get caught up in the hoopla of gold (stocks). They got caught up in the hoopla of selling the gold-finding-hopefulls (you/me) the tools they needed to make their attempts at winning the gold lottery (stock lottery).

HI KC. I'm good, thanks for asking. You've always been big on sharing an educating investors which is your forte.
Couldn't agree more with regards to your last comment
"However, I think the more important thing is not how much one makes and then goes around shouting how good he is in investing. It is the process which is more important. You can get lucky once a while, but if you don't have a good investing process, and a proper mind set, the good time won't last."
We do seem to be in a extended bull run, that has yet to run its course, and as the saying goes "a rising tide lifts all ships" couldn't be more appropriate to describe whats happening on Bursa right now. i'm definitely NOT complaining.

FA not applicable here. my only guess is someone will be keen to hedge against loss in appeals court. buying Paragon shares makes sense because win will cause the share price to double (long time) in event Paragon gets award favour. RM18 million is lots of money. both parties are going to fight tooth and nail.
