Optimism is denial, so face the facts and move on. It is wise to direct your anger towards problems not people, to focus your energies on answers not excuses.
An expensive lesson for those buying at a high price though!

Folks, Benalec is relying desperately on its land disposal transaction to mitigate the short-fall in marine construction activities. Last 2013 financial year, Benalec had sold 101.1 acres land with a total disposal of RM156.8 million and the group has another 400 acres remaining land available for sale.
In the Q1E for 2014, Benalec reported a loss & has failed to dispose some of its remaining land. Benalec recently reported its has terminated sale and purchase agreements for the disposal of eight pieces of land for RM54.3mil cash. Making matter worse for Q2E, Benalec’s outstanding orderbook remained low as it failed to secure any projects since the second half of 2012.
Latest news it has struck a land sale deal worth RM55,531,011.20 but will this be enough to bring investors positive sentiment back to Benalec? Remember folks, barring unforeseen circumstances, the Land Disposal is expected to be completed by the 2nd quarter of calendar year 2014. What if the land sale fail to materialise again? How?

1. Industry observers cite family interest as the reason for the board dropping the charges against Ah Chye, Tua Choon and Yongene in favour of an out-of-court settlement.
2. “Civil disputes, such as the non-disclosure of related-party transactions (RPTs), are internal issues of conduct, so the board can address them as it sees fit,” says a lawyer turned investor activist.
3. “But if the non-disclosure was material, especially if it resulted in secret profits, then it is quite serious. These issues remain whether or not the accused have resigned from their positions,” she says, adding that “a breach in regulations is something that the regulators ought to pursue even if the company has decided to drop the legal charges”.
4. In a statement to The Edge, Bursa Malaysia says: “We are looking into the matter. If there is any breach with regard to listing requirements, regardless of whether the company is taking action against the directors or they have resigned, we will carry out necessary follow-up action.”

Remember folks, it didn’t elaborate, apart from saying that it plans to come to a settlement in a month’s time.
This development has attracted attention to the company, which is majority-owned and run by the three Leaw brothers — group managing director Datuk Vincent Leaw Seng Hai, Ah Chye and Tua Choon.
Will this trigger the local funds sell further?

To those still holding this counter:
When Maybank Investment Bank Bhd (Maybank IB) ceased stabilising action for AirAsia X Bhd (AAX) on Aug 7, many investors were unhappy with the decision of the investment bank, which acted as stabilising manager, as its inaction had indirectly led to the share price falling below the initial public offering (IPO) level.
The bank still had some 53 million shares available for purchase under the price-stabilising mechanism during the nine days before the 30 days were up, but did not continue to acquire the shares.
Maybank IB ceased stabilisation on Aug 7, the last trading day at the end of the maximum stabilisation period allowed under Securities Commission guidelines.
Instead, Maybank IB exercised the over-allotment option for the remaining 45% and returned proceeds of some RM66.2 mil to share lenders, in this case Orix Airline Holdings Ltd and Menara Malaysia I Ltd. Tan Sri Tony Fernandes is the controlling shareholder of AAX.
Maybank IB would have purchased a total of 118.5 million AAX shares from the price-stabilising action of 65.53 million shares and the exercise of the over-allotment option, fully covering the number of shares that had been over-allocated in the IPO exercise.
The 118.5 million shares represent 15% of the total number of IPO shares over-allotted in the exercise.
All of this raises the question: Why??
