Question is how will you value it 6 months down the road. By then, it may be a different animal altogether. Will it outperform SMRT and MEGB?

When Calvin talks a lot we know something is bothering him and he can't sleep soundly at night. Admit it, sell all and keep cash in USD.

Hong kong is pegged to USD. There may be fear of it being unpegged. The reaction may be opposite to Swiss Franc when unpegged from Euro.

Commodities have crashed and will take years to recover. Also with worldwide deflation on the cards, it will be unwise to invest in commodities. It will be a good idea to look up on the effects of deflation and plan your investments accordingly. Deflation can be considered a once in a lifetime experience. Think of 1929 and its effects. However, this time around, the USD will be the currency of choice - sorry Leno.

Isn't the usual remedy for inflation is to raise interest rates? Another reason for raising interest rates is when the RM is threatened. China, Japan and Thailand have reduced interest rates is because of the fear of deflation. Should there is an exodus of foreign funds, Malaysia will have no choice but to protect the RM and you'll see the interest rates shooting sky high - no matter who runs the government of the day. If that happens, we may have to experience capital controls again.

With inflation up, BNM will increase interest rate, which will be a double whammy for mortgage loan holders. Mortgage loans make up more than 50% of personal debts.

Whatever the analysists say, play safe and be prepared should there be a hard landing in 2015. Maybe the are trying to pacify you as they make their exit, especially if there are billions or trillions at stake. The question is where will you be at the point of exit when it happens.

johnny cash, I have to admit that I'm pessimistic of the future. Short term gains is not worth the risk. I don't have the time and inclination to be glued to the computer screen for hours on end. Not now, later maybe, when the time is ripe. To me, at the moment, the least risky investment is as suggested by sosfinance, is in USD.

Sorry, don't quite agree that US shares will tank. I believe it will move up from 20k to 40k region, depending on how severe the worldwide financial crisis is. Funds will park their money in USD because it is the world's reserve currency and part of it will filter to the share market.

2015 is going to be tough for investors/specualtors. You can be cash rich now but can still lose it all because of wrong calls. For those who are fully invested now can also lose it all if prices suddenly take a high dive and not coming up for air for a long long time. So how?

This time around it will be the soverign debt crisis. Last time, government baled out the banks. This time, who is going to bale out the government? IMF or World Bank will be helpless as it is a world wide contagion and it is going to happen in 2015.

Leno can be quite graphic but he makes sense. He is brave enough to put himself on a limb and invite derision. I'm sure he has saved quite a number of investors/speculators. SKPETRO with their billions in contracts and recently announced attractive dividend continue to be sold down. After reading Leno's explaination on the current oil crisis it makes sense. Dont understimate Leno's intelligence and research.

Calvin, sad to say, I think that you are the one afflicted with tunnel vision. You can only see the trees but not the forest. Think global. The Asian Financial Crisis started when foreign funds pulled out from Asian countries to invest in the Euro. The new currency was then touted to surpass the Dollar. Asia countries with high Dollar debts were badly exposed. Are we better off now? Can we weather another financial storm when our national and personal debts are much higher this time around? EU is imploding and Japan is in recession. How are we going to protect our assets?
