@8888_ Maybe because Virgin airlines already close shop! way too risky to buy airline stocks now, even if they lift MCO, there will still be travel restrictions imposed by governments

you will need balls of steel to see this through but lets have some perspective, the last time there was a shake up, it lasted 2 years and the companies that managed to ride the storm came back stronger. This time around, it is a tripple whammy, Saudi-Russia piss off, Covid-19 reducing demand + no storage place so traders are getting cut down to pieces. If you are in production, its not as simple as witching off a switch(apparently it gets tricky to re-start it once its shut down) while the refineries is a lot easier to cut production.
It will take a while for demand to build up again but it will once the lock downs are lifted and a vaccine is found, with will be around 12 months or so...

looking at all the other counters, looks like not much impact on share price... will only suffer if people are forced to stay at home i guess

yup, june is still above USD 20, guess they are betting that Trump will open up the economy by mid May... its just supply and demand, if no demand, they got no where to put the oil... i dont understand why they dont just cut or reduce production, anyone got insights on this?

From an internal Saudi perspective, lower oil prices are manageable for the next decade. According to Aramco CEO Amin Nasser, "In a nutshell, Saudi Aramco can sustain the very low price and can sustain it for a long time." Saudi oil is the cheapest to produce (gross taxes, capital spending, production and transportation costs) in the world at $8.98 per barrel, according to the Aramco IPO prospectus of last year.
In comparison, US shale oil costs $23.35 per barrel (and $20.99 for non-shale), while Russian production costs average $19.21 per barrel, according to the Energy Information Administration.
In fact, with new drilling technologies, Saudi production costs have decreased even further at some fields, such as at the world's largest offshore oil field, Shaybah.

@khatulistiwa1234, false...
Dow futures fell 5%, hitting the "limit down" maximum allowable limit and halting futures from falling further within minutes after futures trading began Sunday.
Dow (INDU) futures dropped 954 points. S&P 500 (SPX) and Nasdaq (COMP) futures also fell around 5%.
The sharp drop in stock futures points to another volatile week for Wall Street as coronavirus continues to take a toll on public health and the economy in the United States and elsewhere.
The decline came shortly before a key procedural Senate vote on a massive stimulus package to help Americans handle the crisis failed Sunday evening, pushing out the timeline for relief.
Central banks and governments around the world last week announced a wave of stimulus measures aimed at bolstering economies and calming harried financial markets.
But the virus has continued to spread rapidly around the world — there are now more than 325,000 cases worldwide — forcing further travel restrictions, shut downs and disruptions for businesses, and threatening the global economy.

guys, you just need to be prepared for low oil prices... USD 20-25, the question is how long will this last... last time it was 1.5 years.. who knows how long this round will last... at this stage, every counter you have will lose money if you did not get out in time..

get back license also no point tbh, they did not proceed with the purchase of FMU 5, think the total loss was close to 25 mill in writeback.. their main problem was that they never had a good source of raw materials as factory was only running at 40% capacity, with FMU5 gone, no idea how they going to solve that issue
