It's not just Palette.. FBMKLCI and most stocks across the board are in a sea of red.
2017-11-16 11:01 | Report Abuse
@gamion FYI, the companies in FBMKLCI are determined based on the top 30 companies in Bursa based on market capitalisation, not "exciting or news driven" companies. No matter how exciting a stock is, if it's a small penny stock with low market cap, it will never enter the FBMKLCI. Hope this knowledge benefits you.

@Jeremiah Bizz Retailers throwing, fund/big shots collecting.
2017-11-15 10:34 | Report Abuse
@Joshk I wasn't caught at RM0.50 and collected at RM0.395. Still feeling a bit of pinch though now that it is RM0.36. To answer your question above, I think many are full-time traders who have to survive with daily/weekly profit from the stock market. People who are doing passive investment and adopting value investing will have no crippling fear as we have no urgency to sell and have the time to hold. I'm also on your side on believing that earnings is ultimately what determines the share price. At this juncture of EPS RM0.095 for the latest quarter (I am assuming it can maintain its EPS for future quarters), price below RM0.40 is palatable for me. Also, commenters here seem to prefer to read and buy in baseless comments like "RUNNNNN" or "BUYY ATTACK SAPU ALL" which are baseless and without reasoning whatsoever. Hope everyone can turn on their thinking hat, filter out comments without reasoning and only absorb the ones with facts, figures, and reasonable logic. Happy investing!

Collected at RM0.395. I'm buying the business, not buying TS Wong...
2017-11-13 16:56 | Report Abuse
@Joshk Precisely what I said. Seems like most people are buying TS Wong, not buying Palette. HAHAHA!
2017-11-13 16:40 | Report Abuse
Other than the announcement made by TS Wong, did any other thing change? Business nature? Fundamentals? Operating activities? Profitability? Future prospect? Nothing...
You have to ask yourself if you're buying the announcement or buying the company business and prospects. For me, I solely look at the business. With fundamentals remain unchanged, I view this as a 15% discount for me :)

Seems like there are people who confuse between PN17 and Paragraph 8.03A.
PN17
"The financial condition of a listed issuer on a consolidated basis must, in the opinion of the
Exchange, warrant continued trading or listing on the Official List. "
In layman term, it means that a company who has suffered huge financial losses for a long period of time may be issued PN17 whereby the company will be required to submit a plan to Bursa explaining how it plans to turn the company around to profit again.
Paragraph 8.03A (The one impacting Hua-An)
"A listed issuer must maintain an adequate level of operations to warrant continued trading or
listing on the Official List."
Hua-An was issued with paragraph 8.03A because it leased out its oven in 2016, making it inactive (No operating activity). In order to satisfy paragraph 8.03A and lift this up, the only simple requirement is to have operation activity.
Think for yourself if there is any chance that Hua-An's application will be rejected....

Next catalyst would be Bursa's approval of Huaan's regularisation plan. Wait for that...

Looking at the graph in the link shared by @Invest1188, seems like raw material price (Butadiene) has peaked and resuming to its previous level.
2017-11-13 09:19 | Report Abuse
@Invest1188 Thanks for sharing. Good news for Superlon when butadiene price falls
Asia butadiene (BD) spot prices may continue to fall further in the near term as supply outstrips demand. Surplus stocks unloaded by Chinese petrochemical major Sinopec had weighed on the spot market, forcing sellers with regional or deep-sea cargoes-in-hand to drop their prices this week. Spot prices plummeted to $1,100/tonne CFR NE Asia on 27 October, down by $125/tonne from the previous week, ICIS data showed.

All the positive news are here:
1. Coke price uptrend
2. Coking coal price sustainable
3. Turnaround story (Loss making due to inactivity --> Profit making)
4. Respectable profitability (EPS 1.96/c for Q2 and 3.04/c for Q3)
5. Good valuation. With that kind of EPS, price below rm0.30 means a PE below 10 which is very attractive.
6. Company just submitted application to uplift it's status of being classified as an affected listed issuer pursuant with 99.9% approval (Because Hua An is now profitable)
7. Good prospect as company declared that it is environmental compliant and even the management is optimistic of outlook
Daily fluctuation of 0.5 cents, 1 cents is normal for this stock because it's just rm0.28 per share. As such, 3%-5% daily is also normal. If want to make big money, dumb dumb hold.

RM0.50 wet wet water based on company's prospect and optimism:
Chinese economy has continued to beat expectations with the growth rate coming in
slightly ahead of analysts’ forecasts. From 6.9% growth in the first six months of the year,
China’s Central Bank governor, Mr Zhu Xiaochuan, forecasts that the economy could
grow at a rate of 7.0% for the second half of the year. Such economic growth are
envisaged to be achieved through continued robust public and private sector
infrastructure projects as well as real estate development pursuits particularly in the third
tiered cities, all of which will provide an impetus to the steel and coke industry. According
to a steel industry consensus, the domestic steel demand is expected to continue to be
robust and sustainable through the rolling out of several socio-economic initiatives, more
notably the expected RMB2 trillion steel consumption required to realise China’s highspeed
rail project from 2017 to 2030 as well as the spin-off effects of the massive OneBelt-One-Road
(OBOR) initiative which will be spearheaded by China. All these may be
seen as a catalyst to provide a compelling case on the prospect of the steel and coke
industry, moving forward.
In view of the above, the Group remains optimistic with the recovery seen in the steel
industry and will continue to be vigilant to relevant consequential circumstances that may
have perceivable effect on the metallurgical coke business, to which necessary action
steps will be taken to face those challenges as and when they arise.
