Hopefully, you take this as constructive criticism.
First of all, for both of the company you mentioned, using GROWTH RATE as a measure is RIDICILOUS. The nature of these companies earnings fluctuates, cherry picking the current earnings to make the story is deceiving the less informed crowd. A proper analysis will be showing Cash Generation annually and AVERAGE earnings in a 5-year period. You should not cherry-picked figures to make things look good.
Secondly, you used NTA as a gauge of undervaluation. I have no problem with this but I believe the way you write is purely deceiving. There are 100+ companies in Malaysia alone with NTA that are 2x of their market capitalization, in your words, HUGE DISCOUNT. This obviously does not tell much to those reading your article, if it does, there would be so many easy opportunities to make money, close to a free lunch.
To those reading this kind of articles with a very "light" analysis, I strongly suggest you to take it with a grain of salt if you could easily double check his/her facts in 5minutes. With this article, you obviously can:
1. GROWTH RATE. (malaysiastockbiz)
2. NTA. (Open most recent QR)
These were the 2 "big" takeaways suggested here.
*** it actually just took me 1 minute.
Regarding some follow up take on NTA, it is good that you at least bring up DEBT into the picture. It will be better and straight to the point if the analysis mentioned the NET LIQUID ASSETS, the main worry for NTA way of investing is whether the company can cover their debt. There are obviously more concerns than these simple takes.

Insas generates a good amount of cash too, roughly 30MILLION annually for the past 5 years.

personally think all 7 catalysts that you mentioned will not be impactful, very forceful to mention all of these as catalysts.

To all investors, if you do not know who is the patsy in the stock market, it is most probably you.

my advice to those holding long/ believers: do not sell yourself short once the QR is out, don't give discount entries to those spectating now. took the risk, deserve more rewards.

How do you even tell that it is margin call? If it is, pretty sad for those playing on margin. QR cannot save them.

Normal. Stick to your long term plan. If you are short term player, i have no advice as I despise short term "investing".

ivan, i like your optimism but I just want to warn you that there is no certainty in the market. Only things that are certain are death and taxes. No free lunch.

What has fundamentally changed for Insas when it was at 1.00 compared to now?

This few days can remind people what does losing 10%+ in their portfolio feels like. How you react determines how good was your investment plan initially, all the best to all~

Forever is a strong prediction. Do you believe that you could be wrong?
I am invested in Insas due to in depth research and personal opinion on certain matters that makes this company undervalued. Could I be wrong?
Obviously yes. No one can ensure you a 100% certainty, if they could, no one would be told. Am I then in self denial? Appreciation for the role of luck will keep us humble.

Inari price don't matter to Insas already.Only once Inari drop to the 5B Market Capitalisation then we can have discussion about the margin of safety again.

Anyone can explain to me what is the big deal with BONUS ISSUE? Does it in anyway increase the value for shareholders? (If Nestle did it, I would understand the hype)

Be careful not to see the last price especially to warrant holders, there have been quite a number of days of last-minute pushdown.

today majority of volume at mother is at 1.00, majority of volume at warrant is at 0.315. what a joke for the warrant.

@TheCon , i did a check on the top3, 1 and 3 was reported wrongly...the book value stated was wrong. Number 2 is heavy on NCA. Can't believe Focus will post this kind of article....but then again...star also can post wrongly that Insas has 1B in net cash...downgrading their credibility in my view

"I know why i bought into Insas and i have a firm valuation as to how much Insas is worth. And that's the main reason my frustration lies because the big wide gap is there. "
Your frustration is the reason why the company is worth investing in now. Sorry about saying 2015, it is first half of 2015 and around 2014. By the way, I am not pinpointing the post to you as I don't even know when did u buy Insas or as you mention any decent investors would had known to average down, I am stating that the valuation error caused by the market psychology is something we should exploit rather than be frustrated about.
I will just reiterate this:
"I would say this, if you hold Insas to the same regard as a RED CHIP company, please go ahead and dump this stock, never look at it again.
If you don't, I don't see any reasons why not to invest. It is as simple as that to invest in Insas."
This is my opinion based on my valuation.
2018-01-28 11:19 | Report Abuse
It is not only the BOOK VALUE of Insas that you should look into. There are a lot more than that:
1) Cash generation. ( If book value high but leaking cash then it won't be attractive) Is the cash generation historically proven to be HEALTHY?
2) Hidden assets value (What's the gap now?, is it at a historical high?
3) Current overall market outlook ( Does the interest rate hike benefit money lending business? Is retail business going to grow this year? A hint to you regarding the upcoming quarter would be how did SGX and the US equity market did last year end ?)
Most importantly for Insas specifically is the market psychology:
4) Those who buy at 2015 will be those complaining, those brought at 2016 will be satisfied. The psychology of the investors are affected by what PRICE did they buy in. It is human nature that if as your investment goes down, you have a tendency to think about exiting because you will be more inclined to think that you are wrong. The literal opposite is true too. However, to avoid this mentality, having a firm valuation can help you to overcome this period and an investment philosophy that you hold firmly.
How does the market think affects the share price heavily, sometimes too heavily that we can benefit from it. What does the market think now is up to you to interpret and judge.
2018-01-28 11:02 | Report Abuse
I like to clarify that I did not tell you to dump the stock literally. I obviously stated that if you hold Insas to the same regard as a red chip then only I would advice you to dump the stock. If you feel that advice is wrong and you should invest in a red chip, we can have a constructive discussion regarding that.

@Fabien, Outstanding buying opportunities exists primarily because perception understates reality. I did a check on the gap between insas share price and its equity per share, the biggest gap in my check was 2012, the gap was 274%. One year later, the returns on investment was 130%.
Following years, the gap was 73%,86%,149%. At 2016, it was 197% and one year later the ROI this time was 35%.
Looking at it now, the gap is 151% and very importantly in the year 2017, how many BILLIONS has Inari grown in market cap? What will be the ROI this time as the gap widens beyond? Only time will tell.
Look at the TOP30 Shareholders, Emerging funds increase their investment from 2013 to 2017 rather than exiting. Now the perception of Insas is really bad but this has provided the opportunity for you and me to invest at this price where any sign of optimism has been driven out.

I don’t believe the gap will remain as that in the foreseeable future.

He can be right but for the wrong reason. Someone who uses GROWTH RATE to promote Insas cannot be taken seriously...what a ridiculous idea with no knowledge of the nature of the company. Besides that, using NTA to show big discount is like telling people water is wet.
