Mr. Ooi,
Actually u are at disadvantage as u use your actual name. Those who attack u can do so without any loss of reputation as their identities are hidden. U should try and ignore, the more u respond the more joy they get out of disparaging and attacking u.

Coffee,,
I agree that Hy is both goreng and fundamental stock. As I said its movements are like that of second board stocks of the 90's...I also agree with your statement of cut loss mechanism and missing out etc..I am happy with my approach as I am holding all in cash and can buy down further to average as I believe in its fundamentals and it should revert back to its intrinsic or fair value over mid to long term..
As a goreng stock its volatility allows me to manage my paper losses by selling into rallies and buying in dips. I did profit significantly in its first uptrend and I hope to profit on the next one which I believe will come soon enough.
Some regard it as a red chip stock but I cannot agree with that as its basic demand for refined products is in Malaysia and it cannot have fake goods or fake orders of 3 million shoes...

My primary intention was not to trade...but I am not having to manage my paper losses by selling some into rallies and buying back in dips..

@gator, no disrespect but I doubt your remisier would pay attention at all not to mention probably doesn't understand price and volume relationships besides keying in buy and sell.. LOL
In any event, it's good to sell some into gap ups and watch again.. Good luck

If it is a faĺling knife don't average down, wait for the bottom price then only average down.
-------
Not easy to know when its falling knife, as I am not that sophisticated...So I normally invest 20% first, with balance to buy lower...In this case, if I haven't followed it down, I wouldn't have profited yesterday and lowered my average.. Sometimes I do buy up but I try not to...

My advice is this, Friday was a high volume day signifying possible end to THIS PHASE of the rally.. .. What I'll do is Sell some into gap ups on Monday (usually a trap), watch if gap is filled, if yes, sell into rebound (if volume on rebound is low)... One more chance to sell is when previous congestion support is broken with volume on the downside..If gap not broken, hold and watch for signs below
If it opens lower on low volume, wait and watch the rebound.. If volume is low heading near previous high and then increases significantly within a range but cannot break high, possible distribution.. It will head lower on a higher volume then trade within a congested range on light volume... Next break down (or up) on high volume is the new trend...
This is called anticipation... Anticipate the possibilities and react accordingly so that you are ready to take action...
Note that this is a trader's view.. And I do have a little left which I'm disposing on Monday.. Good luck
-------
Ayoyo,
Excellent advice and plan and very much appreciated. Unfortunately I am clueless on such details..but will discuss with my remisier...Yes I am still using remisier when others are online..sigh...

Gator u average down from 15 to 7? U really need to learn how to trade,
-----
Lizi..
First of all I don't have the time to trade...secondly, my approach has always been to hold for mid to long term but when opportunity arises to take profit on about 20% of my holdings. But I have come to realize that HY is a different beast so if opportunity arises in short term I will sell. Its a different beast so needs a different approach.
2018-04-07 16:36 | Report Abuse
I think Probability lost a lot of credibility as far as I am concern...
I agree with Dreamliner, buy on dips..although someone said never to average down. I have been averaging down from 15 to below 7. I did make a good profit when I sold all at between 15 to 18 during its uptrend last year, although my intent was to hold as investment...the jump in price within such a short period can only lead me to take full profit. I would be silly not to do so...
During the recent downtrend I have been buying in all the way down at different levels...I don't look at charts generally, no time for it. Furthermore, I think there's operator/syndicate in HY so it may not necessarily behave according to charts.
A different beast, like what Ayoyo says... I think Ayoyo is very good from his postings ...
As per my plan I have sold the batch bought at 6.78 ...next batch bought at 8 level will sell when above 9...KYY said he will hold until 18 but if he bought at 6 and it touches 18 in 6 months I believe he will sell all. That is only natural. Do not begrudge him or anyone that.

Can be done. crossed over a large block with agreed terms esp with major shareholder...sometimes major shareholder will do it himself with nominee accounts. but HY market cap of 300m shares require heavy artillery and must have good story...in this case increasing/decreasing EPS, sentiment, 2 cents div etc, pump or short as the case may be...

Marine fuel standards could create sea change in global oil refining market
https://marketintelligence.spglobal.com/our-thinking/news/marine-fuel-...
................................................
Mayes said global fuel oil demand is about 7.8 million barrels per day, with bunker fuel oil demand accounting for 3.4 MMbbl/d.
"The non-bunker component of fuel oil demand has been declining for decades," he said. "It's being driven lower by regulatory and environmental factors. And so there's a problem assigning [bunker fuel] to homeland use."
Mayes said there would be a "significant diversion" of distillate into the marine fuel market as vessel operators sought to comply with the new standard, which the International Energy Agency pegged at 1.8 MMbbl/d.
................................................
"If we see a spike of nearly 2 MMbbl/d, that's almost a four-year demand increase compressed into a few weeks," he said. "It's hard to see how when you have a demand spike on the distillate side of this magnitude, you're not going to have a pretty sharp increase in prices. It all depends how fast this will play out. …Unfortunately, unlike gasoline, demand for distillate is not elastic to price."

https://oilprice.com/Energy/Crude-Oil/Oil-Prices-Poised-To-Rise-As-Cycle-Comes-To-An-End.html
All of the major U.S. hydrocarbon liquids inventories are at historically low levels. The U.S. and all of the OECD countries, whose economies depend heavily on these commodities, should have at least 30 days of supply. EIA reported the following levels of liquid inventories in the U.S. as of March 23, 2018. All of them are lower than the previous week.
• Crude oil: 26.1 days of supply
• Gasoline: 25.6 days of supply
• Jet Fuel: 23.2 days of supply
• Distillates: 32.1 days of supply
• Propane: 24.8 days of supply
Refined products inventories have been low since Hurricane Harvey shut down more than 30 percent of U.S. refining capacity for over two months. The U.S. has struggled to get back to 30 days of supply for most of these critical refined products. The world’s largest economy is heading into the peak period of demand for transportation fuels with very little cushion.
Last year, global demand for products made primarily from oil increased by 2.3 million barrels per day from the first to the second quarter. A similar spike in demand is expected this year. In their March “Oil Market Report”, IEA said that global demand for oil will exceed supply within sixty days.
