much more discount once excise duty is announced. remember the govt is now hard-up for cash.

but their problems in china have not been addressed. all their cash would be gone if this trend continues.

if they keep on registering these kind of numbers, they wouldn't be worth buying even at 2.50.

foreign outflow, tapering, rising bond yields, anticipated rate hike and poor sentiments on property industry. sell or keep long term.

this company has been bailed out by the govt to the tune of RM19Bil. Billion with a capital B! Ask yourself, whose money is that?

results due anytime now. bonus? sharesplit? special div? fingers-crossed, lol.
2013-11-25 09:56 | Report Abuse
the divvies are paid quarterly la! each quarter about 2c and full year divvy about 8c. At the current price level divvy is about 6.5%.

I dont understand why HLeb is rated 5-star, unless the rater is biased.
Its 0.1% brokerage is for cash upfront, which is not unusual. Its foreign trading fees are higher than most. the foreign trading platform is not real-time unless you pay more, and its platform rather unstable.
there is no service/upadates from the dealer, in fact my dealer refused to provide her mobile number, insisting i call her office line (even when i am abroad, lol)

beware of averaging down lousy stock. its better to buy other promising stocks and watch them grow to cover your loss.

EPS dropped so much, yet declaring higher DPS. With debts approaching 60% who wants to touch it now? Changing to quarterly distrubution to create interests?
2013-11-22 09:49 | Report Abuse
the trouble with counters like this is once they go down, they can be held down for ages. not saying it will happen now, but its indeed worrying.

i believe MBL has a great business but would have to agree that more could be done on the corporate governance side, ie divvy policy, directors remuneration, transparency, etc. Otherwise they could easily fall into the fishy, sneaky, chinaman-type category of companies.
2013-11-22 09:22 | Report Abuse
financial results are as expected. nothing interesting, and no catalysts for the near future. rising bond yields and tapering could pressure the price. either stay out or keep for long term.
2013-11-22 09:14 | Report Abuse
with such a high staff turnover, it wouldnt be surprising to see a few disgruntled ex-employees bitching and moaning here.

do you speak foochow? if not, stay away from this counter. and jtiasa.

lol, you're not alone. Anyone holding property counters now is suffering.
2013-11-21 17:32 | Report Abuse
this counter has been languishing around 1.00 for ages. it only started spiking with the 'asset injection' nonsense. sure - more land, more properties now but all these come with more debts.
2013-11-21 15:52 | Report Abuse
i like MBL but a little worried about their high divvy. too high for a small company like this, will it be sustainable? and the land they bought in Kelantan - just too small to provide meaningful profits. they should spend more on expanding rather than keeping their divvy high.

this news have been recycled year after year. usually surfaces when oil palm prices are depressed. many biodiesel plants in lahad datu had even closed shop.

in their 15 year history they only paid one divvy of a meagre 1.3 sen last year. good luck.

just a few days ago ben said QE could go on indefinitely, now he's taper-talking again. Hard to see no hidden agenda in all this.
2013-11-21 09:23 | Report Abuse
unfortunately taper talk has poured cold water on this news.

yup..the only way it will crack below 2 is if EPF starts dumping big, or some big macro-economic event took place.
2013-11-21 09:17 | Report Abuse
never pay attention to EPF. their huge funds are managed by different managers, so some may sell and some buy at the same time. they also claim to 'mask' their investing strategy by doing so.

if that was true then it shows desperation - meaning demand is seriously bad there.

long term potential is fantastic for titi. but short term will be hard to tell. well at least they are not exposed to soon-to-be ghost town iskandar.

property counters hammered again today... will little titi buck the trend?
2013-11-20 14:43 | Report Abuse
even if earnings and price recover, what are the chances of a company like this doing well year after year? they can change CEO all the time but the entitlement culture and parasitic mentality among the management and staff will stick on.

i have been using Mcca securities. Must say, i like their trading platform as it is easy to use and with lots of research info. Fees are cheap too. Only regret is they dont have foreign trading.
2013-11-20 08:57 | Report Abuse
the only ones selling are EPF and the weak holders. even if the price gets volatile, its worth to keep for the divvy. and EPF can acquire back at any time. looking forward to accumulate.
2013-11-19 15:04 | Report Abuse
you might want to keep this for the divvy of 6% and hopefully more in the future. can you name another property counter with a 36% margin, 17% ROE and quick ratio of 5X? shorter term however is difficult to predict, as property counters are being battered.
