Bottom fishing done in last few days. Just caught up with latest news of total 13.2 mil contract win for the upgrading of train cargo terminal, and not only 7.2 mil as reported in this forum earlier. So, there was in fact another contract value of 6 mil for same project secured last year, making a total of 13.2 mil. This latest announcement on contract value seem to hv taken me by surprise. Guess this year is Metal theme play, given the highly volatile commodity price last year.

As expected, the Fed rate hike is on, representing its 4th jump in 2018. Now that this is out of the picture, let the market calm down and digest. Given the lower ceiling rate and 2 rate hikes in 2019, it may turn out to be not as bad as it seems.

It is purely bad market sentiment. Now that Fed rate hike is over, the market will need time to settle down first.

While coke prices were stable and strong, the reported average selling prices for this qtr was way below the market. I wonder whether they are selling below market or it is becoz of time lag? Either way, it seem quite difficult to even make a forecast. So, even if the coke prices get higher this qtr, we are not sure whether their margin will be good or not come next qtr result.

If so, then there is no better time to pick up some.

Let's hope with the extension, HBG will now have 2 qtrs to show strong and sustained financial results to convince Bursa.

Stock price has been battered and bruised, but coke price continues to stay strong and resilient. There is still hope for this stock. I recall Guan Chong, when its cocoa commodity price was trading at its low while its stock price battered down to 0.9x a few years ago, but it has now recovered to 2.2x. Have faith!

Coke prices seemed to have rebounded in mid Oct after its price have weakened towards end of Sept. If Coke prices can again move to re-test the historical high achieved between early Aug and early Sept, then we can expect a good run of strong margins next year.

Almost down to the bottom pit already, the only way is up. Hopefully there is an announcement soon.

Let's hope there is good show later today, if not then tomorrow.

Although Coal prices hv no doubt risen faster than Coke prices, the latter seemed to catch up too and has remained resilient. My take is that this qrt results should be better in terms of margin.

Seemed that an ascending triangle pattern is slowly forming. Last few days price have been consolidating around EMA20 line and if it continues to stay above the line, there is another potential breakout on the horizon soon, otherwise, it may retrace further downwards.

Good article abt China plan to increase domestic spending on railway, which in turn boost demand for steel.
