Announcement 29/10/13 | Description: Letter of Intent
Further to the announcement made on 30 August 2013 on the Letter of Intent received from Sarawak Energy Berhad to Trenergy Infrastructure Sdn. Bhd. (“Trenergy”), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Sarawak Cable Berhad (“Sarawak Cable”), the Board of Directors of Sarawak Cable wishes to announce that Trenergy had on 29 October 2013 received a Letter of Award dated 23 October 2013 from Sarawak Energy Berhad on its award to Sinohydro-Trenergy Joint Venture the Mapai to Lachau 500kV Transmission Line Project in Sarawak (“Package B”) for a contract sum of RM352.8 million and a Letter of Award dated 23 October 2013 for the Lachau to Tondong 500kV Transmission Line Project (“Package C”) in Sarawak for a contract sum of RM265.8 million.

The commencement date for both Package B and C shall be 15 November 2013 or such later date as may be notified by Sarawak Energy Berhad, with completion period of 23 months and 26 months for Packages B and C respectively.

Both Package B and Package C are expected to contribute positively to the earnings and net assets of Sarawak Cable Group for the financial years ending 31 December 2014 and 31 December 2015.

The Board is of the opinion that the above Projects (Package B and Package C) are in the best interest of Sarawak Cable and its group of companies.

This announcement is dated 29 October 2013.
