Actually, since TS has held his shares since the start... his price is below RM11, once all the dividend of the past decade are factored in.

By the way, I don’t think tan Sri is lowering his average price now. In fact he is averaging up. And the share he purchased does not have any big impact on his average price. He has been holding it since the company was founded. I guess his price is below 50 cents.

It is not really surprising, bagankia. Since December 2020, we have know about the E484K variants that are able to overcome the immunity developed from the original covid variants.
The current first generation of the covid vaccine where developed against the original covid variant had already failed almost from the day they were granted Emergency use authorization. It has just taken that long for the E484K variants to become more wide spread, and for the numbers to be large and the trend obvious.
The only thing 'silly' has been the market's enthusiasm of recovery in the midst of a pandemic. A bit like some guy declaring victory because he managed one punch to his still standing opponent.
I am sure brokerage houses have all been advised by paid epidemiological experts on what will happen in the next few months.

It is silly to see the country producing Pfizer-Biontech mRNA vaccine Germany recorded single daily high of Covid-19 cases.
Italy , the Netherlands also seeing the same trend.

People claim gloves are dead and who knows they might be right... but covid19 is pretty much alive.
So take care everyone. Cases globally are climbing again as the K417N-E484K-N501Y variants which are antibody resistant take over the world.
The new variants are more transmissible, deadly and can reinfect 40-60% of the people with immunity to older variants of covid.
Even if you don't believe in glove, please continue to protect yourself. Wear two layers of mask and goggles to protect your eyes. It will be awhile before we get gen1 of the covid vaccine much less gen2 of the covid vaccine that has not been developed yet.

MCO ended March 4.
3 weeks after that, March 25th, we will start to see cases rise again.
Cases of SARS-Cov2 has to be zero for 3 weeks before we can be sure to have ended the outbreak and be safe to reopen. And we have not done so for economic reasons.
All we are doing now is yo-yo-ing. Cases go up, shops close down. Cases go down, shops open. Then cases go up again.
And each time the virus evolves.

It can only be solved if
1) Topgloves stops manufacturing in malaysia and moves to the US
2) Malaysia joins the US and declares economic war on China.
The US asked Malaysia, will you attack China for us. And Malaysia said No. SIME and FGV (felda) are also banned by CBP.. The US is polarizing the world, either we stop trading with China or we lose the US market and the market or all pro-US nations.

Well one thing for sure, Israel's new daily covid cases has not gone down since Feb 18. Been nearly 3 weeks of 3.5K cases a day.
Number of active cases in Israel has started to go up again.
Also the SA, Brazil and New York variant are now in Israel, not just the UK-Kent (B117) variant.
By the end of the month we should be seeing how well the pfizer vaccine hold up

>Why do you want to promote a down trend counter?? Why are you asking people to go holland still?? Are you trying your hardest to get out of your trap here??
---------------------------
By this stage the only people left in glove sectors are investors. People who try to see the big picture and have long time horizons.
All the traders have left to go to the tech sector. Mr/s Honesty, you should go there too.
Being investors most people here subscribe to the maxim;
Be greedy when people are fearful and fearful when people are greedy.
Buy low sell high.
So we will buy good stock when the market sells and sell when the market buys.
Also... will I don't much about TA and about this market trend stuff, I do remember my epidemiology classes from university. So while the amarket is pricing in a full recovery with the vaccine by FY2021. I am "forward looking" and looking a third wave of antibody resistant covid19 variants, that are more contagious, more virulent and able to reinfect people with immunity to previous covid variants.
Then vaccine production capacity in 2021 is limited. Estimate increased vaccine production capacity would only be sufficient for half the global population. So it will be only 2022 before everyone is vaccinated. Looking forward... the new variants will cause vaccine companies to make additional booster shots to compensate for variants that escaped the first vaccine. Moderna has done so... but that would mean their vaccine is now 3 doses rather than 2... and moderna has production capacity for 600 doses in 2021... so previously with 2 doses, 300 million people could be vaccinated. Now with 3 doses only 200 million people can be vaccinate.
And that is with the assumption that the booster is only 1 dose. What happens if 2 doses are needed? What about the even newer variants detected with 2 escape mutations rather than just one, potentially becoming even more resistant to antibodies against older covid variants. What if we need 4 doses total then Moderna can now only vaccinate 150 million people, rather then 300 million.
This will be repeated for every vaccine company, so rather than having enough vaccine for 1/2 the world population, we now have enough for 1/4. And we cannot leave and neglect the poor... the new variant South African, Brazilian, Kent (UK) and Californian (USA) all originate in regions of with many poor people.
Am I asking people to go holland? Nah... i stop bothering. Everyone should buy bank stock and tech stock. Most Malaysian retail are traders. They buy high and sell higher.
When the third covid19 wave hits in March-April... all economic sectors will be hit and people will panic sell and go buy glove stocks. Then I will sell some glove stock and buy bank stock and the best performing tech stock.

Reason to go up?
New and improved E484K antibody resistant variants. Spreads faster, kills younger and 50% of people with antibodies to covid are not immune to it(ie South African variant, Brazilian variant and Bristol variant.) Q677P and L452R variants are also quite resistant to covid antibodies.
And we do have new hybrids that have multiple antibody escape mutations. ie Nigerian variant which has both E484K and Q677P. And the US hybrid that has both E484K and L452R
End of snow storm, people start going out again.
Global vaccine production is sufficient for only half the global population at 2 doses per person. And this assumes that all company production estimates are true. And all vaccines produced are viable. And all
Vaccine shortages made more severe as production capacity is reallocated to make vaccine against the E484K variants in additional to the original vaccine.
Reason to go up is always SARS-Cov2.
Reason to go down: Sentiment. Chart trends.
Use your head and the facts speak of a pause that we should exploit to the maximum to get an international global response to covid.
Instead we have nations like India and US which will not share their vaccine until they have their own population is fully vaccinated rather then send the vaccine to hot spots. Or companies like Moderna and Pfizer which will not share their patent, or even license their mRNA vaccine to others and are selling for profit.
Also look at India... the case numbers have already started to turn in Mumbai.

Oh and effective for how long against the older variants is still unknown... but I guess that is a moot point now given the new variants. Probably catch the new variant before immunity to the old variant wears off.

Vaccine is effective... against the older variants of Covid19. Not very effective against newer E484K variants of covid (ie B1351, P1 and B117-E484K subvariant and maybe the Californian variants.
Only about 50% effective against B1351. So guesstimate, about 50% of the people vaccinate will be reinfected by the new variants. And the herd immunity threshold for the new more contagious variants is ~80%. Meaning these variants can still spread through a community immunized with current vaccines.
Humanity has managed to hit the pandemic with vaccine... but pandemic is readying its counter punch vaccine resistant virus. Expect counter punch in US and EU once snow storms end and people are able to go out.

When dividends are paid by Top Glove, shorts sellers have to pay that dividend to their lender.
For example
A has 1000 shares. B borrows 1000 shares and sells them to C. So now the registered owner of the shares is C. When dividend is declared, TG will give the dividend money to C.
However, by rules of SBL, A also has right to the dividend of his lent out shares...so B has to pay A that amount from his own pocket.
B has now borrowed 256 million shares. .. and TG will declaring dividend on March 9 with a payment date usually 2 weeks after.
Assuming TG profit did not increase, TG will pay ~20sen per share (70% PAT). This translates to short selling having to pay RM51 million out of pocket to their lender.
And we know TG profit has been increasing...

Of the 7, TG warrants expiring on 26/2. 6 expires out of the money with no pay off to warrant holders. Only one warrant expires in the money, TG-C78.
100 million warrants were issued for TGC78, however by Jan29, only 20million warrants remain in the hands retailers.
Excision ratio is 6.7. So this is equal to about 2.98 million shares, distributed over 5 days, so about 590,000 shares sold a day.
In contrast , short sellers are selling 3 to 8 million shares a day.
Warrants are no longer a significant issue now. Short selling is.

I would add, the sinovac vaccine also performed poorly in Brazil 50.4% efficacy (where the P1 Brazilian variant has its home). Sinovac vaccine did much better in UAE 86% .
There is data from Pfizer and Moderna... antibodies raised from their vaccine have >10 fold lower binding affinity to covid spike protein containing all the mutations found within the Spike protein of the S.African variant. How much of a reduction in protection this translates too is unknown but at a guess it is significant.
The problem with 50% efficacy... is that the virus will not be stoped by the vaccine alone. Additional measure must be taken.

Please wear 2 layers of mask when going out (as recommended by Dr Fauci) and please were GOGGLES too (any kind, even swimming goggles is okay) or a face shield to protect your eyes. Your eyes are also a route of entry for the virus as the eyes are connected to your throat via ducts,
If you are living with many individuals in a household, consider wearing face mask indoors too. Bathe the moment you return home. Wipe door knobs that your touch with soapy water. The good thing is this virus is weak to basic household cleaners like soap/detergent and bleach.

We retailers just need to keep calm. Don't panic and buy on the dips.
You see short sellers sold their shares at an average price of RM5.70, yup that low. To be profitable, they need to buy 242 million TG shares at below RM5.70
We are already winning. We just need to stand together so that the short sellers cannot cause a panic sell.

KWASP sell .. also good. TG share price falls to RM2 also okay. I will buy, all in.
Unlike Gamestop, TG shares are actually valuable. The company is making a lot of money and paying very high devidends every QUARTER. This is why KWAP will not sell TG, it will sell other things first... hell I would not be surprised if KWAP had followed EPF to also SBL (lend out) their TG shares to the short sellers, to collapse the share price and buy these share cheap.

As a result, short sellers will eventually have to buy back 242 million TG shares at a lost.

Short sellers need to buy back 239 million shares. Their break even price is around RM5.69.
It means shorties are already in pain.... they have been shorting the last few days in the hope to bring down the price... but the lowest it went was RM6.14... settling mostly on RM6.20
Now we are back to RM6.6x.
All we need is to hold. Don't sell cheap. And short seller will have to start buying 239 million TG shares to cover their position... and they will be desperate to buy to limit their losses which can be unlimited. And they cannot hold forever, as they are paying interest on the shares they borrowed.
While TG will be paying dividends every quarter (4 times a year) and 70% of their profit... which has been rising every quarter...
Finally TS.Lim will not be selling because he need the shares to control him company.
And EPF, and KWAP won't be selling much because they need their shares for dividend payments (because realistically no other sector is paying much in dividend no matter what their share prices say)
So really... short sellers only have us to buy their share from to cover their short position.
So stay on target and hold the line.

GameStop is experiencing a short squeeze...
A situation where short sellers called it wrong... and share prices when up instead of down and short sellers are thus forced into a desperate race to buyback shares that they borrowed at ever increasing prices.
Back in Malaysia short sellers have shorted nearly 239 million TG share at an average cost price of RM5.67. So to break even they have to buy back 239 million TG shares at RM5.67
If we retailers refused to sell TG shares cheap... short seller will be force to buy our TG shares at a high price. They have cover their short position. And the longer they hold their short position the more money they have to pay as interest to the institutions they borrowed their shares from.

Okay. However pfizer has already informed the world that vaccine delivery will be delayed several weeks to a month.
And vaccine from pfizer is sufficient for only 500,000 people.
It will be a while before the pandemic ends in Malaysia. Also verified that S.African variant can escape immunity from previous covid variants. .
A mask and goggles will better protect you.
We are at the end of the line in the queue to obtain a vaccine.

Received on 11th morning. If you have not received, it means you are very likely on a nominee CDS account. (ie money goes to the broker first before it goes to you.) You should contact your broker and ask them.

RSS combines both short selling and buying to cover.
What is happening is that short sellers are bypassing the open market. Allowing them to buy nearly 11 million TG shares in the past two days without massive changes to share price.
I believe they are buying directly from institutions... notice the large cross trading these last two days.

A study by South African scientists into the new coronavirus variant driving a resurgence of new cases in the country raises concern about the efficacy of vaccines and a new class of therapies.
Half the blood samples taken from a group of people to have recovered from Covid-19 didn’t have the antibodies needed to protect against the 501Y.V2 strain identified last month, according to the paper by South Africa’s National Institute for Communicable Diseases. In the other half, antibody levels were reduced and the risk of re-infection couldn’t be determined, according to the institute.

Okay. Sounds good. If gloves tank to RM 3.50 in Feb, I will go all in.
Reason... while the vaccine may arrive in Malaysia in Feb2021... is is enough only for 500K people. Most of pfizer vaccine will arrive late 2021, and that is only enough for 6 million Malaysia. 20% of the population. There is no schedule for when the rest of Malaysia will be vaccinated.
Even Canada, the nation with the most vaccine doses per person in the world (Canada has ordered 6 vaccine doses per citizen) only expects to have its population fully vaccinated in September 2021.
And we haven't even touched on concerns that new variants are emerging that could escape the vaccine. If we are super unlucky... and such a variant become widespread... the western nations will need to vaccinate their people a second time.. leaving us waiting even longer for a vaccine.
TG crash to Rm3.5 buy it. Will pay back for itself in 2-3 years. Then free dividend forever.
PS: Nurse and doctors will wear gloves.. Any manager that tells them no, will have a walkout on his hands.

Just making a point. The pfizer vaccine is effective against the older variants of covid and the UK-Kent variant. It has significantly reduced efficacy against the newer K417N-E484K-N501Y variants (ie Brazilian P1, S.Africa variant, UK-Bristol variant). On average 3-4 fold less efficient and for 50% of people >10 fold less efficient.
It is estimated about 40-60% people who are vaccinated with fall ill to these newer variants.
So do be careful even if you one of the few malaysians who are vaccinated.

Disposed during the retail fueled rally with small gains. In hindsight, it was probably best. TG is fundamentally strong, however, with HK listing which will inevitably cause more dilution, the upside seems limited. ESG issues are still unresolved, despite TG mentioning last year that the issue with US Customs will be resolved end of last year. Director buyback does not mean that the share price will go up. They amass in millions and have millions of shares to start with, so they're merely averaging up. Just earning dividends will be good. With more and more vaccines coming on the market, and with Pfizer vaccine proving to be effective even with a single dose, it is unlikely TG will stage another rally in the near future. The waning daily trade volume is another indicator. Decision to hold or sell ultimately is yours.
