Good dividends that follow good results are much better!

Investors of Malaysia Airports Holdings have received dividends which amounted to 13.91 sen since the beginning of 2020 but Maybank investors have already received RM2.07 during the same period.

Just buy Maybank and RHB Bank without hesitation. Won't lose money in the long run.

As long as the PN doesn't gain further grounds in the state elections in Penang, Selangor and N Sembilan, I am more than willing to buy Genting at around RM4 a share. RM2 a share would be a dream.

Keck Seng has make much more money from the depreciating Ringgit and interests from fixed deposits so far this year than from its business operations.

If RHB Bank's earnings improve each quarter until the final quarter, just like last year, its full year earnings could be quite impressive at over 75 sen a share.

Local funds have been buying over the past few days. Trading at a PE of less than 10 now and a dividend yield of over 5%.

Added a bit at RM5.45 and RM5,46 too. You can't find more than five counters listed on Bursa with RHB Bank's low PE and high dividend yield.

An impressive earnings per share of 17.93 sen in the first quarter is still unable to excite investors. People prefer to speculate rather than to invest for long term. Best luck.

Improvement in financial results but no corresponding improvement in share price. Many on this forum who have been hoping for a quick share price recovery over the past few months must be bitterly disappointed.

Last year's dividend payout rate was 84.3%. If Maybank earns 75 sen a share this year and maintains its pay out rate, then dividend this year should be around 62 sen a share. Let's hope it can materialise.

There are 4 companies listed on NYSE that have a market capitalization exceeding $1 trillion each. Ringgit is dropping against the US$ almost everyday.

Earnings of most plantation companies in the first quarter have plunged by over 60%. Earnings of CannonTan's favorite plantation company TSH Resources have dropped by 70%. So the much talked about special dividend from TSH this year is just a pipe dream. Earnings of his next favorite plantation stock Boustead Plantation have dropped by over 95%. He will hide somewhere for sure.

Just like Maybank, I believe RHB Bank's first quarter earnings should also improve over its October to December quarter.

Maybank's earnings for financial year 2023 should rise to at least 75 sen a share. At RM8.57 , its prospective PE is just 11.41. Have faith in Maybank.

Compared to Public Bank, CIMB Bank, RHB Bank and KLCI, Maybank has performed well since the beginning of the year. Including dividend, Maybank has gained 20 sen or +2.3%, RHB Bank has gained 8 sen or +1.4%, Public Bank lost 32 sen or -7.5%, CIMB Bank lost 56 sen or -9.8% and KLCI lost 62.65 points or -4.24%.

I suppose we still have to pay brokerage and other charges when we trade in odd lots. Won't be selling my odd lots. Just keep them to get dividends.

Ringgit falls, stock market falls. This is double whammy.

Fast to bounce back. Has already recovered 45% of yesterday's loss. First quarter earnings should be reasonably good.

I know the three big Singapore banks are trading at PEs of around 10 and dividend yields of about 5 but I don't have the resources to increase my investments. Maybank's PE is higher than the three Singapore banks but its dividend yield is also higher at 6.7% and RHB Bank is trading at a PE of 8.6 and a dividend yield of over 7.2%.

Malaysia Ringgit has now dropped to RM3.383 to $1, lowest on record. So sad.

Has gone up from RM8.84 to RM9.82 or 11% in just 14 trading days. Coupled with today's poor market sentiment, most investors would just take profit first and see what happens next.

Keep if you have the holding power. Bank counters now make up over 50% of my total investments in the stock market and 100% consist of RHB Bank and Maybank shares. Haven't sold any the last few months. Don't blame me if CIMB drops further. hahaha

Among Bank counters, Maybank is the worst performer today, falling by over 2%. CIMB and AmBank are still slightly up today. What is happening to the darling of investors?

When it rises, it rises slowly. When it falls, it falls heavily. Three days gains wiped out in just two hours.

Trending lower and lower. Still, would only consider whether to buy this counter or not after August this year.

I would prefer not to have DRP. Just look at Maybank, its eps has remained stagnant for over 10 years due to DRP issues.

Maybank's total earnings this year is forecast to reach RM9.734 billion or 78 sen a share. Applying a PE of 13, it should be worth RM10.14 a share.

Hopefully RHB Bank' share price would move out of this narrow trading band once its first quarter financial results are released later this month. Its earnings should be comparable to the final quarter of last year rather than the first quarter.

MR mana ada CB?

I haven't been monitoring Hap Seng for several years now and thought it was still trading at above RM8 a share until a few days ago. Surprised to find out that it has already dropped to below RM4.50 a share. Would monitor its price movement for a few months before making a decision whether to invest in this counter.

Judging from Genting's performance in the past two+ weeks, one can conclude that it has not done well in the first quarter.

RHB Bank's share price has been stuck within a narrow band of RM5.45 to RM5.55 for the past one month. It is getting very boring. Big investors have been accumulating the counter.

The big boys only need a couple of hundred million to push TG to RM1.50 and certainly well less than one billion to push it to RM2. They have the resources. I just sit back and watch.
