I hope not but should it drop to RM0.28 again, I would top up a bit to bring down my average cost.

RHB Bank has declared a final dvidend of RM0.25 per share. Out of this amount, investors can only use RM0.05 per share to subscribe for DRP shares at RM4.74 per share. The rest would be paid in cash to investos.

Those who had bought at over RM1.10, thinking that it might go up to RM1.50 or even RM2.00 have now lost over 15% of their investments. Now don't know how long it would take to recover their money.

RHB Bank's average earnings per share over the past 13 years was 58.4 sen but it has paid out less than half as dividends. It has the capacity to declare a one for one bonus issue.

Same with western bank - absolutely 0 bank investor think their shares can become 0 (but thats what happen)
Just b’coz nobody think bank will collapse, u think wont happen meh
Now can see ur unbelievably ridiculous question/analogy mo aiyoyo"
The three Western banks which collapsed recently faced a myriad of problems. The reasons for their failure are readily available on the internet. Banks in Malaysia have non of these problems. Your argument is purely academic. The probability of a commercial airliner crashing down and kill you is likely one in tens of trillions. Based on your argument, this could still happen.

@DayDreamers
"u dont realise how unbelievably ridiculous ur question/analogy meh"
I don't. As the company with the largest market capitalization listed on Bursa and the bluest of blue chips, Maybank's health is equal to the health of Malaysia's economy and will never be allowed to fail. Just use your brain a little bit.
"Fyi 100% western bank shareholder never imagine their bank shares become 0 in 1day aiyoyo"
You can find out on the internet the reasons for the failure of some Western banks recently. Maybank (as well as other local banks) has non of their problems. Rather than worrying about bank failures you should be more concerned about PN's intentions should it win the next GE.

@DayDreamers, tell all your friends that you think Maybank could fail one day and see how many of them agree with you. Don't cry father cry mother if non of them agrees with you.

If local banks were to fail, they would fail immediately after the failures of Silicon Vally Bank, First Republic Bank and Credit Suisse. Now two months have passed and Maybank is still solid as before.
"u wont know bank failure until too late anyway (stock worthless)"
You also won't know when PN would shut down Genting Casino should it win the next GE.

Tenaga has dropped quite badly over the last two months. Discounting the 28 sen dividend, it dropped from a peak of RM10 to below RM8.90 last week or a drop of 11% which is quite bad for a blue chip GLC..

There are people who still think that whatever the outcome in the impending elections in 6 states, investor sentiment would not be affected. It is interesting. As my pseudonymn suggests, I am a prudent investor and would only wait for the results in the elections to gauge the support PN still receives before making a decision.

You are almost as loaded as someone who claimed to have a RM90 million fund size to buy Genting. That doesn't bother me. What bothes me is whether I make money from the stock market or not.

"If you want to use early 2020 to compare stock performance because you bought both mbb n GenB together at the same time, thats your problem."
That is not my problem. You can't choose the time frame to suit yourself. Can I say let's choose early 2018 or early 2013 to compare the peformance of the two counters? Genting was trading at RM9 in early 2018 and Maybank at almost RM10. In early 2013, Genting was trading at around RM9.50 and Maybank at RM9. Remember Maybank has consistently paid more than 50 sen a share in dividends for over a decade.
"A lot of people here bought this stock below or near 3.00. Your experience will be vastly different from other investors' experience."
A lot of people claimed to have bought Genting at below RM3. What about those who had bought at over RM8 years ago?

@红底裤No one compares the relative performance of two counters this way. Genting was trading at around RM5.15 at the beginning of 2020. Maybank still registered a growth of 25% from the beginning of 2020, Genting has registered negative growth.

Soon investors would forget that RHB Bank has just traded ex dividend and would be wondering why a counter with earnings per share of almost 65 sen and dividends of 40 sen a share for the past two years should be accorded such a low valuation. That would be the time it starts to move north again, just like Maybank. Maybank closed at RM8.69 a day before it went ex dividend. Now, it has clawed back to RM8.69 again. RHB Bank should climb back to RM5.75 also in the near future.

Someone here had bragged about his success in investments in Genting, raking in over 25% profit a year when no one can verify his claim. What I wrote about Maybank are all facts readily available on the internet. Let's compare Maybank and Genting's share prices at the beginning of 2020 and see what counter has performed much better.

Several months ago, Maybank reached a high of almost RM8.90 while Genting was hovering at around RM5.10. Maybank is trading at around RM8.70 today. Including the 30 sen a share dividend just received, Maybank's
actual price should be RM9 a share for a gain of 1% over its peak price several months ago. Including the 9 sen a share dividend, Genting's price should be RM4.78 for a decline of about 6%. It is obvious to everyone which counter has performed better.
