During d last few years of service in an oil palm estate, Bangla harvestors were earnig about rm2000/harvestor. Ther r very hard working n able to harvest tall palms which Indon r good at it.Everything boils down to honesty, caring n committment n dont take commission as a fringe benefit.The Bangla were employed by d estate but harvesting was given to them on piece rated basis,they were asked to make splinter groups. Each group comprising of about 10 were given certain field n paid on tonnage basis. The splinter head group head will pay d harvestors based on cents/bunch determined by d estate.Yield must be good so again how good is your field m'ment.Mgrs prefer to give harvesting to local contractors who dont pay d Bangla well n dont forget mgr commision.... Industry dies!!!!!!

If we r sure of d facts then we shd give maximium criticism here.Directors shd know that now we r in d internet world or living in a glass house, everthing transparent.Everybody shd talk, u cannot shut ppl mouth. We want d yield similar to IOI. If u hv any mgr friends in IOI, talk to them, they go through hell but well compensated.

I think US using d "trump card" n always talk of increasing interest rate but will they increase? Consumer spending is one of d best in d world becoz very cheap.By increasing interest rate may create instability.....fear always there?

Lately, I read in d media they r talking of "mt of oil/ha" instead of "yield/ha", change in phrasing to hoodwink d shareholders who hv no knowlege of oil palm plantation! Right from d day oil palm estates started, estates performance r gaughed by "yield/ha",now playing wt phrases to hide their weakness.If u think, u r getting 25mt, google,copy n paste here.I criticising here becoz,I love my previous employer, flashing their weakness n hoping some positive changes takes place.Tenamaram estate was d first oil palm estate planted by SD in Malaya then, d word tenamaram is d tamil name for coconut tree becoz it looks similar.Inspite of having d highest years of experience why they cannot compete wt IOI?...please talk!........waiting.....

Oh! please if Sime in Peninsular can get 25mt, please flash d source of inputs! I retired from Sime 6 yrs ago.If 25 mt, Sime would be able to pay d 50cts dividend promised b4 d merger of GLCs', please get your facts straight.....tks.

My reply to d author of d above NS posting, GLCs' doing very well, I am too glad to hear that with some corrections.Why SD only getting 20mt in Peninsular while their counterparts r getting much higher. If SD mgrs work hard n achieve similar yield compared to IOI/UP/KLK, PNB would be able to pay a higher dividend. Peninsular estates total 300,000 ha ( not sure on d ha) if d yield can be improved from d current 20 to 23, d difference of 3mt @ 300,000ha = 900,000 fruits @ Rm300/mt/fruit =?....so 24.8 mt is not a good achievement!!!!!!!

Sime group achieved 24.8mt/ha, please do some homework to be more precise.IOI estates in Sabah/Indon... r getting around 25-30 mt (in peninsular 23-25mt). All i know in Peninsular SD getting only 20 mt/ha after replanting is a disaster if based against current price of palm oil hence, I am waiting please confirm d yield in Peninsular.

GoodCompanies: running an oil palm plantation is very easy. Remember I am not a racialistic, it does not matter to me whether its a malay,chinese, indians etc what matters is d yield. Klk/Ioi/Up in Peninsular getting yield of 23-28 mt, why felda only 20mt which is mind boggling.If its a chinese mgr not performing in felda get rid of him n get another chinese who can perform. Even tall palms d yield can still be increased from 20 to 21 mt wt hard work, total committment.We r not asking mgrs to walk 8 hrs in d field, i am asking him to exercise in d field for 8 hrs ( i mean walking)...once d mgr told me feel, he feel dreadful to go to field n goes elsewhere.

Purpose of GLC mergers (AEB/GH/Guthrie) n Sime to lead d m'ment to reduce overhead n to start wt a dividend of 50cts.It is not materialising so d merging synegy is a failure.If all d mgrs output is similar to IOI then S may get a yield of 23-25mt in Peninsular.If S on 100% oil palm will their share price sustain @ 8-10. B4 merging S was Rm5...GH & Aeb 2.50 n Guthrie was running at loss.My suggestion S shd go on 100% oil palm to see actual value of Oil Palm share price to compare wt other plantation Cos'.Why cant they give 100% field s'vision to increase yield n make share price similar to KLK & UP.Is is that difficult to get committed by working hard.....mmmmmm
