According to disclosure made on 20-5-20, EPF has been accumulating on a daily basis....KWAP has also been buying.
Khazanah has recently sold TM for 750M, reason being to invest in new investment.....will they also buy like EPF and KWAP ?

Ya, we mostly encourage to react with current information and estimate an foreseeable near term share movement. When good news come in with increasing share price, we buy. Similarly when bad news about company performance with down trend share price we sell. This intelligent movement jump in good news and jump out at bad news can be done by a trained monkey.

So, from the posting, we can differentiate the trained money from the smart investor.
I am a value investor, started buying in early April and will continue to accumulate at different levels, the lower the better.

The bank’s provisions at RM968mil during the first quarter, which was mainly contributed by its Singapore operations, are almost double its net profit.
On a year-on-year comparison, CIMB’s provisions were triple the amount during the corresponding quarter last year at RM300mil.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
They made additional 668M provision verses 1Q19.
The 1Q profit without this additional provision will result a net profit 1.175B, which is commendable.

More O&G provision top-up. The oil & gas loan portfolio, which makes up 2.3% of total lending is set to drag bottom-line (30% of this are impaired and loss coverage is 80%). So far, we gathered 2 accounts here got hit by fraud and seem unsalvageable. Hence, CIMB intends to provide 100% loss for both bad loans (one in 1Q20 and the other likely in 2Q20); from our channel checks, these could amount close to RM1b.

O&G impairments: RM1bn provisions – Management guided two major loans to oil & gas (O&G) trading companies will likely see full provisions totaling ~RM1bn.

Malaysian banks are quite robust with a clear position of strength in facing the bump of the COVID-19 crisis and are seen better placed compared with their regional peers, said S&P Global Ratings.
Among banks under its coverage, S&P Ratings had given A rating with stable outlook for Public Bank and A- with stable outlook for Maybank and CIMB which were on par or higher than sovereign rating of Malaysia which is at A-, and believes that the Government is highly supportive of the banking industry.
“The banks enjoyed 2 to 3 notches of stand-alone credit profile (SACP) protection. Therefore, at this juncture the rating downgrade is very unlikely, given the current scenario,” she noted.

Gtrade, no need to make noise here. If you don’t like just switch broker. Anyway brokerage is Min RM8 per trade only. Wont affect CIMB much.

Mike Mayo, Wells Fargo banking analyst, said there was also positive news for the group, when Warren Buffett’s Berkshire Hathaway disclosed that its holdings continue to be heavily in banks, even though it sold a large chunk of a long-held stake in Goldman Sachs and shed some of its JPMorgan stock.
“Buffett still has basically his biggest investment in history in the banks. That’s quite a statement. He’s not afraid to bail when something’s not going the way it should. The best investor of all time has his biggest investment ever, less 3%, in banks. Maybe he knows something the market is missing,” Mayo told CNBC in an email.
Mayo notes that Buffett’s holdings remain in Bank of America, Bank of New York Mellon, and M&T Bank. Berkshire also built higher stakes in PNC and U.S. Bancorp, Mayo added.

More money has been added to the system in the past eight weeks than was added in the entire year following the collapse of Lehman Brothers, according to Siegel.
Once confidence begins to recover, that liquidity will flow into spending and into the stock market.
“I do think that the March low is definitely going to be the low,” Siegel said, adding that the stock market can make news highs in the next year-and-a-half to two years.
Still, there is risk, according to Siegel.
“The only worse-case scenario is if there’s a huge second wave in October, we don’t have therapeutics, no vaccine is available … and there’s a total shut down again,” he said.
While Siegel said that investors can’t take that possibility off the table, he views it as a low-probability risk.
