Yes! then they can form a sort of a watch group. a watchdog group if you will. What should they call it? the minority shareholders watchdog group? Oops that name is already taken https://www.mswg.org.my/

@UnclePho, VT only sold 70mil, not 140mil. There are 2 disclosures because 1 disclosure is as a director, and 1 is as a sub shareholder.

if you buy the loan stock BJCORP-LD (currently only trading half a sen more exp than the mother share) you'll get a 2.5 sen interest payment in March (another 2.5sen in Oct) trnaslating to an annual yield of 17%... AND it'll convert to the mother share upon maturity to think about that.

if you truly truly believe that BAT can reach that kind of valuation in a tobacco market that is declining not just due to illicit cigarettes but due to better awareness of the dangers of smoking
https://ourworldindata.org/smoking#smoking-rates-are-falling-in-almost-all-countries
then i hope you max out your margin finance and bet your house on BAT because you're going to be a rich, rich person.
I will check back on this in a year's time 31/12/2021 and lets see how correct you are ok?

oops sorry, typo earlier. Loan Stock is not redeemable - auto convert into Mother Share. but the rest of my underlying points remain.
2020-12-18 09:32 | Report Abuse
Aiya, if you want to own BCorp exposure, better to buy up the loan stock (LD) instead.
Trading at a 4 sen premium (23sen) to Mother Share (19sen) but paying 2.5 sen dividend per loan stock in April and October'21 thereafter it will be converted into mother shares of BCorp (because BCorp won't have enough cash to retire RM700mil in loan stock).
And you know it won't default because VT himself owns 30% of the outstanding loan stock (check the most recent Annual Report)

public bank always has a hardon for this stock - 18x P/E valuation! for such a thinly traded counter!!
lets take their TP with a pinch of salt la, RM2.80 (their valuation in 2019) also considered quite good already

based on current EPS of 2.93 per share (annualized 11.7 per share), 15x P/E = RM1.76; 20x P/E = RM2.34. Now that Kenny Rogers Roasters is no longer bleeding so badly, possible for BJFOOD to repeat its 1Q21 performance for the rest of the year. Stronger ringgit also helps its bottom line as coffee beans (main COGS and imported in USD) are now cheaper.

public bank is not fully taking into account the impact of the arbitration award so their RM0.41 price target is laughable.
the only way EA can meet the claim sum is via issuance of new shares which will dilute the existing shareholders like hell.

oil price moves don't make much of a difference to Armada. It is an asset owner - what it earns per FPSO (80% of its biz) is fixed based on the charter contract. The only area which should be sensitive to crude oil prices is the OSV charters (remaining 20% of biz). Most OSV charters are on spot or short term basis where rates will rise and fall with crude oil biz.
For FPSO biz you should only be concerned about the credit risk impact i.e. if oil prices are too low such that the FPSO charterers are losing money and may affect their ability to pay fixed the charter rates.

its commodity price-driven. When caustic soda prices are as weak as they've been for the past 2 years, whatever management also cannot do miracles. Caustic soda prices were trading at USD500/MT back in 2017, now only USD230/MT. Don't lose money already considered fantastic.
At the end of the day, this is still a PNB-owned stock. So you know you're money's safe, and you will get a dividend lo.
