Calvin, iskandar will overtook kl soon. Now the real factor is how to attract or promote people around malaysia to migrate to Johor. Maybe also Johor state Goverment can allow foreign to migrate to Johor. Iskandar need population growth at highest level so that all property will develop n up graded to higher value. Johor independent will be the short cut.

Malaysia (2015)=30,572466. Selangor (2015)= 5.874m. Johor(2015) =3.554m. KL(2014)=1.67m (44.2%malay, 43.2% Chinese) data from internet. With Johor in progressive growth n development, population will increase rapidly?

Now the population in Singapore is 5.5 millions. Plus Johor's 3.5 millions there is already a 9 million strong population called "Greater Singapore"

Nearby Bangsar was just full of rubber trees.

Selangor was once far away Selangor. Very far away from KL before the FEDERAL HIGHWAY was built in the 1960s. Traveling from KL to even nearby PJ was a torture through the meandering Klang River. Puchong was a god forsaken rubber estates (only monkeys lived there). Balakong was a swampy village. It takes 2 hours to travel from Serdang to Cheras through Balakong then.
