its true the Malaysian schools are very lousy..but family influences are far more important...but in lousy schools, some learn the university of life better.

many factors determine a person's character, and chances in life.

of course it is true without debate that nowadays it is more important then ever to be born into good parents than ever before. People of the boomer generation have more opportunities to climb the social ladder even when born into not so good parents.

Dear qqq3,
Please has a heart for our fellow Malaysians who are in B40 which I was one during my childhood time. I am grateful that the national education at that time had uplifted my brother and sister to middle class.

We need to fit our current national education now to include critical thinking, empowerment, humanistic values, future proof graduates and improvising teaching methods. Or else we will produce many misfits and instead of surge ahead together will fall further behind as a fail state.

Thank you

ENGINEERING PHILOSOPHY: NARRATIVE DEPENDENT

A CRITICAL CASE OF CLASHES OF IDEOLOGY : COMMUNISM DICTATORSHIP VS LIBERAL DEMOCRATIC DECENTRALISATION

What do the protesters want?

Motto: "Five demands, not one less!" These are:

1.For the protests not to be characterised as a "riot" (Rioters or the people's voice?)

2.Amnesty for arrested protesters (criminala or heroes?- Gomen or the ppl to decide?)

3.An independent inquiry into alleged police brutality (A must in democratic system)

4.Implementation of complete universal suffrage (The real meaning of democracy)

5. the withdrawal of the extradition bill which allowed for criminal suspects to be extradited to mainland China under certain circumstances. (has already been met)

* During this period, the territory held local council elections that were seen as a barometer of public opinion. The vote saw a landslide victory for the pro-democracy movement , with 17 of the 18 councils now controlled by pro-democracy councillors.

* Conclusions:

1. Live by design, or by default - the hongkongers must choose (NOW OR NEVER?)

2. Democracy can be hijacked or taken away, and the people may have to rise to regain it. ( It may take lots of struggles, courage and sacrifice- WORTH IT OR NOT - the people must only ask themselves?)

Question for qqq3, which side do you support - Xi Jinping or the people? (If you must choose)

Posted by EngineeringProfit > 2020-02-17 06:40 | Report Abuse

Or is there any of their demans that you think is immature, redundant or unreasonable?

Do you think they have been shortsighted to fight for something for themselves selfishly? Or for the betterment of generations to come?

Regressive (ignoble, irresponsible, barbaric thugs) or progressive (noble, strong sense of responsibility, courageous heroes ) struggle?

Hospital Authority Employees Alliance

*Carrie Lam's controversies include the trial and imprisonment of democracy activists, the disqualification of several pro-democracy candidates, as well as the criminalisation of the pro-independence Hong Kong National Party. Her government was also criticised for raising the qualification age for Comprehensive Social Security Assistance and for its handling of the cross-harbour tunnel toll plan, and amendment to the extradition law.

Dear all,
I believe in nonviolent/peaceful protest for your legitimate demand or JUST course. Hence I support Bersih or any peaceful protest.

But when protest become violet, then the organizer should be held responsible and accountable and should control and cool down the situation.

For Hong Kong protest leaders who they may be, it is wrong to escalation the protest into violet clash with police, blockage/occupy/set fire/vandalize MRT, Airport, Bank, Shop lots, University, Legislator Building, Police Station and etc.

The western reporters and government were hypocrites in condemning CPC or Hong Kong government but true to be told how this western government will response if this type of violet protest will to happen in their countries?

Thank you
P/S: It is my hope the voices of reason, sanity, and understanding amid the voices of violence, hatred, and emotion will prevail from both sides.

“World peace through nonviolent means is neither absurd nor unattainable. All other methods have failed. Thus we must begin anew. Nonviolence is a good starting point. Those of us who believe in this method can be voices of reason, sanity, and understanding amid the voices of violence, hatred, and emotion. We can very well set a mood of peace out of which a system of peace can be built. — Martin Luther King Jr.”

Targeting moderate protesters rather than engaging with the underlying cause of their discontent may in fact simply inflame passions and encourage more people to voice that discontent on the streets.

The turmoil is unlikely to end quickly, with the government not showing any signs of meeting the remaining demands of protesters.

Dear EngineeringProfit,
My view on Hong Kong summer of unrest as below:
https://klse.i3investor.com/blogs/Sslee_blog/2019-07-26-story216997-An_inconvenient_truth_on_Hong_Kong_summer_of_unrest.jsp

As of US and Western media:
https://www.counterpunch.org/2020/02/07/curbing-the-coronavirus-while-targeting-china/
Discrediting China is part of a larger geo-political drive that seeks to thwart China’s ascendancy. The aim is to ensure that the present hegemon, the United States of America (USA) remains on top at all costs. A host of measures and moves — some economic, some technological, some related to security and politics, others linked to culture and human rights — have been adopted by those who are hell-bent on perpetuating their hegemonic power. This is why some of the distortions about the current coronavirus threat should be seen in the light of disinformation about the alleged persecution of the Uighurs in China and the so-called suppression of the people of Hong Kong. The name of the game is the same: it is the targeting of China.

Thank you
