There is no way traditional courier company like GDEX can grow its profit with the emergence of technology driven courier like J&T, Ninja Van and other startup which is heavily funded by big money.
bowman..my brother in law work with Ninja..accidently knew that when i ask him whether he can help me to courier my stuff..he said that they received order from other currior company only. i do not know elsewhere, but here Ninja is only distributing parcel for big gun
Pos Malaysia and GD Express saw higher parcel volumes in April-May 2020. According to GD Express, the parcel volume was 10% to 15% higher than normal levels while Pos saw a 52% quarter-on-quarter increase in average daily parcel volume in May.
While Pos expects the trend to continue throughout 2020, GD Express said it is too early to tell of the higher volumes are sustainable.
Oversea operation is even more challenging (mostly loss making) due to lack of economy of scale. Even though oversea market is huge, don't forget there are many competitors as well. Having oversea operation will drag down the profit even more.
PT Satria Antaran Prima now share price is up 300%. GDEX has a 44.5% stake in that company, 16.5% direct stake, and 28% through wholly owned subsidiaries, GDex SEA Sdn Bhd and GD Valueguard Sdn Bhd. I think this stock will be bullish soon. TP 0.42
