bowman Small company contributing to life saving. Whether or not Covid, ventilators are very important part of hospitals. It is part of any emergency ward and the ICU. Maybe the stock is worth watching.
"This life saving machine was in huge demand globally as they are needed for the treatment of Covid-19!19 patients in the hospitals, the company said. To date, over four million people are confirmed infected with the extremely contagious virus worldwide. Key ASIC designs and markets chips to customers in Asia, US and Europe." 12/05/2020 5:26 PM
---------------------------- Agreed, Passive devices like med gloves, sterilizer, PPE equipment can be produced in massive vol by any med counters. But active devices like breathing ventilator, defibrillators, nebulizer, other machines, etc. are intrinsic, complex devices which not all med counters can manufacture.
PETALING JAYA: Key Asic Bhdsaid it is seeing a significant demand surge for its chips that go into making ventilators.
Ventilators are in huge demand globally as they are needed for the treatment of Covid-19 patients in the hospitals.
“We have started the design platform of the next generation of ventilators that is powered by the latest Internet of Medical Things (IoMT) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies as they can provide significantly better therapeutic effect to patients and enables frontline healthcare professionals to control the ventilators and monitor the patients from a distance or remotely, ” said chairman of Key Asic Eg Kah Yee.(pic)
“A total new generation of intelligent equipment in the hospitals based on IoMT and AI technologies is needed to deal with the extremely contagious and increasingly complex diseases, ” he added.
Key Asic is a technology company that designs and markets chips to customers in Asia, US and Europe.
Ventilators are largely computerized machines with multiple chips and display monitors.
The company said that its next generation of ventilators will have to be designed with the IoMT and AI technologies to meet new requirements due to the ongoing pandemic.
“Since the outbreak of the pandemic, we experienced orders soaring by multiple times for the chips that are used in the ventilators. With the number of infections still climbing in many countries and some are sharper than others, we foresee the demand continues to be strong for the rest of the year and perhaps next year as well, ” said the CEO of RAiO International, a Taiwan technology company and Key Asic’s client CT Su.
“Based on the models, experts are predicting a second wave of infection can recur once the lockdowns are relaxed in several countries, ” he added.
In addition to RAiO, there are two other Key Asic’s customers that have chips used in the ventilators.
“The fabrication capacity is limited due to movement control order but we have reprioritized and stepped up our production now, ” said Silterra CEO Firdaus Abdullah.
(Kuala Lumpur, 13th) Coronavirus disease has swept the world, and the demand for ventilator has soared, stimulating the demand for ventilator chips for Keyasic (KEYASIC, 0143, motherboard technology group).
Jiayi Wu, chairman of Keyasic, said in a statement that in order to treat patients with coronary disease, the global demand for ventilators has greatly increased, driving the demand for ventilator-related chips to rise significantly.
"The ventilator is a large computer instrument equipped with multiple chips and displays, but the next-generation ventilator needs to be designed based on the Medical Internet of Things (IoMT) and artificial intelligence technology to meet the new requirements brought about by the outbreak."
He revealed that the group has begun to design a new generation of ventilator using medical Internet of Things and artificial intelligence technology, so that the new ventilator can provide more significant treatment effects for patients, while ensuring that frontline medical staff can operate the ventilator from a long distance or remotely, thus Significantly reduce the risk of infection.
"In order to deal with extremely infectious and increasingly complex diseases, a new generation of smart devices with medical Internet of Things and artificial intelligence technology is absolutely necessary."
Medical experts pointed out that it still takes 18 to 24 months for the coronary disease vaccine to be available on the market. In addition, the economic activity may increase the number of infected people after reopening, and the epidemic may be difficult to dissipate in a short period of time. Affected by the epidemic, the global ventilator market is expected to grow significantly from less than US $ 4 billion last year to RM26.66 billion in 2027.
Currently, Keyasic provides chip design and sales to customers in Asia, the United States and Europe. The company also designs Internet of Things, artificial intelligence chips and development platforms for medical devices and instruments.
TECHNOLOGY Index gained a whooping 2.8% to 39.71 pts on Bursa Malaysia just behind CONSUMER PRODUCTS Index which gained 2.87%.
I noticed KEYASIC lagging behind. I posted below some Exerpts on KEYASIC
KEYASIC has been trading above its upward sloping 20-Day Moving Average which is a good sign, Furthermore, the next resistance level is quite far at 0.130.
