Me opine.. Maybank will slowly recover.. once the huge sell-offs & panic sellings cooled down. The QR was not that bad.. even 21% jump in revenue was recorded except the profit was down a bit..

长期来说，股息再投资计划并不会为股东制造富有。
股价升得很慢或不会升（尤其像maybank这种大象股），因为EPS被稀释了。

I think Maybank's 1st Qtr result was quite good.

The operating profit before impairment loss was 2772m against 2498m of last year 1st Qtr, an increase of 11%.

The only problem was the impairment loss of 865m. Will there be more and more impairment loss for the near future? I dont know.

Anyway, Maybank is a company that must not fail, all parties must work hard to ensure that it is profitable.

It weights 20% in ASB porfolio.

May I know y maybank impairment loss is so high? Is it happen for other banks? Is it bcoz the credibility of most of d maybank big customer is not good? Tats y kena keluarkan more allowance for impairment loss?

The culprit is the NPL and we don't yet know the size of NPL going forward.

Mary, if based on ringgit appreciation last friday, stock should recover slowly this week..but possible Fed interest hike in coming days still makes many to be caution (i go with xenos)...
i accumulated/avg down last friday, for long-term and dividend, as the price well below SMA-200days..

so u may decide base on your objective..

Gov't related funds usually will support Maybank. Not sure why this time the price is allowed to go this low eventho the recent QR was not that bad? Maybe they are concentrating the funds towards Airasia n the gang? Haha

Based on my reading @ Investing.com...Investor seems start pricing in for possible Fed interest rate..if that is the case...then current price could be a support lvl after interest rate hike (if happen)..
Any further drop could be a new support level..
