If MBSB Management cannot bring value to investor shares, then just sell it. Even at a discount of 20% from the net asset, can still brings above 80sen.
Eps for FY222 is 8.85¢. Giving out 8.5¢ dividend means it is giving almost all it's profit for 2022 as dividend. Dividend payout ratio almost 100%!!!!!!
Congrats to those that have trust in MBSB. Major divi goes to EPF. Did I foresee this historic divi? Giving back to shareholders, mostly all to EPF to increase equity returns for 1st Q of 2023. Also, allow EPF to lower MBSB its stronger fundamentals and clear the available cash before the merger with MIDF. MBSB is 65.87% owned by the Employees Provident Fund (EPF) while MIDF, a development finance institution, is wholly owned by Permodalan Nasional Bhd (PNB).
Yeah, many whinners here condemning MBSB, hopefully, more prudent management comes on board to take advantage of EPF liquidity. Yippy68 Hahaha,I can’t stop laughing . 8.5 sen dividend from a useless bank is unbelieveable
EPF is the one decide to go south or north. When price shoot up, EPF selling you high price and pressing down. End up after dividend you are not actually earn both divident and share price.
TQ MBSB ... today .. holders of mbsb feel its worth the wait la. Just in time to celebrate Ramadhan.. Is it normal for a company to declare dividends almost 1 month AFTER Quaterly results? I think a lot of investors already sold their shares thinking there is no dividend. Judging from this forum history, I feel most of us felt the same way. Also .. why is it an INTERIM dividend? Belum FINAL lagi ke? ... haha ..
MBSB giving more than 2022 profit plus reserve estimate to be RM609.576 mill. out of which RM401 mill goes to EPF in the second quarter. Are they expecting the recession to be around the corner? So return excess liquidity to shareholders? Not mistaken MBSB issued sukuk bonds last year.

@Orson, mbsb already kasi almost all of FY2022 profits as that 8.5sen dividend, there is no more final dividend.
I have to say that I cannot fully agree with those whom said that this dividend of 8.5sen will be the dividend for FY2022, if indeed it is for year 2022 they would have just say it and not name it as interim dividend, would you agree? You may then say 8.5sen already surpassed the full year profit of Y2022, where else comes the money for any more dividend? Don't forget MBSB has a net tangible asset of RM1.25 per shares, I suspect many of those assets are not generating profits and they could have been use for decapitalization, in other words, they could have plan to sell it and return to share investors as a form of dividend. I may be always criticising MBSB management, I am not whining but to remind them of their responsibilities to the investors, I believe some of this criticism in this forum will reached MBSB management and they reacted on those concerned. I am glad they announce this dividend payout to arrest the fall in share price recently, for this I applaud their effort and I hope they will continue to announce more good news in the near term, especially on the merger and acquisition of MIDF.
