yes beaman wait for privatisation...the only way...sure RM2 ....if RM 3...better bro....there's no need to manage it by gov's agency anymore...better live than die...so privatisation is the only one solution for mas...sure got many big guns want to be involved , but must be a consortium because this mas has has a very big capital to own
most company will retrench staff or offer vss to trim staffing cost. this MAS remain high cost even in bad shape. either CEO don't know how to run the show or just take it from granted as free money flow in from taxpayer.
smartly agreed with u.. idris jala also reduced head count during tenure to turnsround mas. political inference to stop the existing ceo to do the right thing may be :)
Former chairman advocates MAS to merge with foreign airlines
March 07, 2014
Former chairman of Malaysian Airline System Berhad (MAS) Tan Sri Dr Munir Majid has suggested that the national carrier considers the option of merging with other international airlines.
“MAS is a medium-sized company in the global aviation industry that is getting more competitive. They should look at mergers to move forward,” he said, responding to a question during the panel discussion held today in conjunction with the National Economic Summit and Dialogue with the Prime Minister.
Munir said three airlines had been identified as possible merger partners but he declined to disclose them.
He said medium-sized companies were reluctant to merge with bigger companies because they were afraid of losing major equity control.
"When small airlines merge with bigger airlines, they will get only 35% of the total company. They have to accept this as that is what it takes (in a merger)," said Munir, who is currently the chairman of Bank Muamalat as well as CIMB Asean Research Institute. – Bernama, March 7, 2014
better Singapore Airlines (SIA) takeover MAS ...temasek and SIA sure got money and can turn around MAS like crazy...i mean from craziness to excellent..hehe....this is better than plastic sovereignty of the country
but many of us malaysian may disagree as they would think disagreeind in this case is a characteristic of patriotisme even when our country's money is being depleted by MAS without any reasonable excuse???
merger between mas and sia...even if it means sia eat mas...will benefit both airlines and both countries...no doubt...this is what we call calculated "patriotisme"...@ calculated privatization !!!!
Nanning? Must be joking, if really landed and assuming all radio and communication equipments spoilt (possible given Malaysia's poor maintenance record), the pilots would have called using his hand phone to report the incident, right?
Chef Wan, don't complain if your nasi lemak served onboard now come wrapped with old newspaper because after this crash MAS will suffer a big exodus of scared passengers and loyalists as it is struggling to even stay afloat
All the senior executives appointed after the management team of Tan Sri Aziz and Saw Lye Huat are robbers and looters. Aided by politicians with vested interests, that is why MAS is in the sorry states now.
this is good news...mas and the passengers will get insurance claim....foreign funds will read this and start a very big punting!!! now mas will be on world radar
This book is the result of the author's many years of experience and observation throughout his 26 years in the stockbroking industry. It was written for general public to learn to invest based on facts and not on fantasies or hearsay....
