In May 2022, DNeX and Foxconn inked a memorandum of understanding to set up a joint venture (JV) company to build and operate a new 12in wafer fabrication plant in Malaysia that is capable of producing up to 40,000 wafers per month in the 28nm and 40nm technology segment.
A month or two ago, DNeX resubmitted its proposal to build a US$1.5 billion wafer fabrication plant in Negeri Sembilan with Foxconn and Ajlan of Saudi Arabia. Syed Zainal says that the plan is to manufacture components for the EV industry.
Both Foxconn and Ajlan have EV aspirations.
“The project [building of a wafer fabrication plant] is very much being pursued. We have resubmitted our new proposal to the government. It will be focused on electric vehicles. Foxconn wants to position itself as a global electric vehicle component supplier, so, they (Foxconn) have already made a number of agreements with many companies, so to do that they need to secure the supply of microchip wafers. That’s where we come in. Saudi (Arabia) have also said they want to produce their own electric vehicles, so having access to semiconductor supply becomes very important.
“So we are investing with them (Foxconn and Ajlan) in Malaysia in a wafer foundry, on a specific technology meant for electric vehicles … this is what we have resubmitted to the government, in the last one or two months,” Syed Zainal says.
Wages and salaries increased by 1.1% over that same three-month period, while benefit costs also increased by 1.1%. The data adds to ongoing concerns that persistently high wages.
MOU bring no obligation to any parties at all lol, like langkawi signing MOU to have so called LRT around which sounds WOW but everyone know it is rubbish as there is no ROI meaning at all........
Look at YTL Power, why it is flying? because it is not MOU but real contract signed which means real investment, real action in place......not just talking only like MOU.......
Last year the MOU with BiH (new fab) was extended until 16 May 2024 when it was about to expire lets see if there will be an update in the next couple of weeks.
The placement price is set at 0.36 so to get the 133 Mill rm there will be issued additional 370,000,000 Shares..Now just need to see who will buy the full lot and how long they need to hold them before they can sell
On behalf of the Board, UOBKH wishes to announce that the Board had on 6 May 2024 resolved to fix the issue price for the Private Placement at RM0.36 per Placement Share.
The issue price of RM0.36 per Placement Share represents a discount of 10.00% to the 5-day volume weighted average market price of DNeX Shares up to and including 3 May 2024, being the last traded day of DNeX Shares immediately preceding the price-fixing date, of RM0.400 per DNeX Share.
So, this is the reason for the movement, it is just for this placement that DNEX need to be above 0.36, attractive to 10% discount which after done the subscription, will dash down back most probably if there is nothing substantial to backup the uptrend........
Is the 0.36 extra share issued already? as i believe this why the price been defend above 0.40 right now else who will go and subscribe if the price crash down below that..........
Then we will see whether the price still be above 0.40 once this whole placement over, most probably will crash down especially if the next coming qtr below expectation again........

How much is DNEX worth once confirm Foxconn Ajlan DNEX JV new wafer fab plant?
Given PMX's direction and ambitions, and DNEX's very Malaysian presence, any reason at all for Govt not to support this project?
