dun understand why people want sell at 0935.? media last time 3 ringgit i assume at least can go back to 1.50. this is the minimum expectation of me my tg is 1.80 and I really think media at now fair should be 1.50 until 1.60 2ringgit too much 1.50 until 1.60 should worth now
The day will come. Because MS and EPF buying since April 2017 from 5% and now 6++% already. Not buying from off market but buying from open market. When they collect enough and will GoGoGo UpUpUp
Could be a number of reasons why Morgan Stanley sell. Maybe they want to free up capital when to invest in other places. Near term should be from upcoming SEA games. They could also be selling due to this or maybe to scare retailers like us to sell even cheaper.
Reason they drop is because of decline of traditional media. However, they are diversifying into digital space. At least next quarter should be decent since they completed acquisition of Rev Asia.
How low will it goes? God knows. Just look at the history of MAS. A poorly managed company in unfavavorable business enviroment can be in a bottomless pit unless bitter drastic management decision taken.
Media has the old platform and been years of experiences and contacts with respective clients. I believed they need to switch to social media or online to boost back the sales.
05-Jul-2017 Insider EMPLOYEES PROVIDENT FUND BOARD (a substantial shareholder) acquired 575,600 shares on 23-Jun-2017. 05-Jul-2017 Insider MORGAN STANLEY & CO. LLC (a substantial shareholder) acquired 129,300 shares on 03-Jul-2017. https://klse.i3investor.com/servlets/forum/800000694.jsp
Just dependent on some funds buying as the reason to buy is not that convincing that the company will regain its glory. Fundamentals are still very challenging with structural change for the worst. Management needs to do MORE to address the falling revenue and increasing cost.
Hope it wont follow the same path and ends up the same fate as our national airlines MAS.
I think mgmnt knows that, thats y they acquire rev asia to become the biggest digital adv company in msia in order to turnard the company..but market didnt like it plus bad qtr result making the shares going south..prob most investors afraid the co wont be able to pay high div after the acquisition..it seems only morgan stanley and epf are confident abt the acquisition n future of this company..hence they are accumulating..
KENANGA is right in predicting its share price will drop to its last financial crisis price of 85 sens achieved in 2009. We are getting nearer everyday.
gradual selldown. Slowly but surely due to lack of confidence in print media and governance. Cut loss first, re-enter later when bottom is found. Sea games not going to spark a huge earning anyways.
Rev Asia business isn't worth even half that value that's why it's obvious some shareholders are going to exit.
It's rubbish that they are buying. Most people havent even heard of half of the domain names they are inheriting and if it was so valuable why dispose their core business.
Media doesn't need this crappy deal. They have monopoly in Malaysia for almost everything else. Just need better management to boost back profitability.
Curious2, all the research houses have been recommending sell with TP as low as 67 cents. It's available on i3 forum else I can link it for you later.
BTW it's not Morgan Stanley buying but someone using their nominee services to 'shield' identity of actual purchaser.
In a market place there are always people with conflicting views so that's why u have buyers and sellers at almost any price ( if the market is efficient)
Shareholders have sent clear signals to management to work hard and make comprehensive overhaul to its business in view of structural change in this new era.
Change its Chairman is first step in the right direction.
Capability of the chairman and his team 'members' will be put under microscope.
Time and change is of utmost essence for its survival.
God bless the 'new' team if any more change coming.
Technology had killed Parkson as it did not adapt fast enough. Technology also work against traditional media. Make swift and concrete bitter change to save the company.
I think Media is good potential buy but i wont buy at this level. Let the market absorb all the negative news first and i always believe not to 'catch a falling knife'
Rev is a bad deal. Hopefully those idiots dont accept Media offer then i think price will recover.
With the Rev deal out of the way, i think its a reasonable buy at current level. Look at the dividends, if they can maintain this.
Rev will sell. The good thing about digital media is they can always come up with a few sites to replace OHbulan, viramcham, rojaklah. Media prima after taking over, if they are not nimble and operate like a government body then no way can make much profit also. The purchase will be in vain.
This book is the result of the author's many years of experience and observation throughout his 26 years in the stockbroking industry. It was written for general public to learn to invest based on facts and not on fantasies or hearsay....

Small piece of land(Jalan Riong, Bangsar as example) is easier to develop compare to big piece of land.
