That’s why. Genm is monopoly in Malaysia. Now they go fight with 40casinos in Macau. Are they able to stay competitive? How long is needed to see profit for the new resort. Big big question mark. Plus genm is full of debts in high interest rate environment. Better stay away or reduce your holdings.

nothing to worry about the spending as long as it is profitable, and Genting has been doing the casino biz for decades, so why do you need to doubt on their capabilities???
take a look at GenS, is it profitable or not when fighting with other big fishes

Bear in mind Singapore only got 1 competitor. Malaysia got no competitor. In Macau there’s 40 competitors.

I am quite surprise nobody realise that Genting Malaysia new gaming outlet in Newburgh Mall, Hudson Valley, New York has been completed and due to be open very soon! I mean, this is Genting Malaysia latest cash cow for sure!

Nothing to be alarmed about. 20+ cents off from 3 in line with KLCI plunged below 1500 and world market correction. Covid-19 normalizing and post impact expected. However this gonna be a different story if 20% off from 3 and the stock itself down without specific reason. If you do not have any position, get some if this is a good bargain hunting. Aiming for 15-20% return as immediate target from your entry price. Be resilient. Bursa value is no where to be seen yet. MYR is taking a breather. Let's wait for the few key indicators like Bursa value 2B above, MYR strengthening, oil price normalizing and of course pre and post election sentiment. Not forget to mention China opening up their economy in full force. We shall only see the actual investment result and price direction.

The Macau casino players will continue to bleed until 2023.
Macau, the world's biggest gaming hub raked in $36 B. in gambling revenues in 2019 - six times the Las Vegas Strip, before COVID decimated it to $10.8 billion in 2021.

Currently Macau issued 6 licences with many satellite casinos using same licence. Many satellite casinos already shut down or ask to within 3 yrs in new law.
Also, new gaming law do not allow more 5% crossholdings between concessionaires. The Ho siblings own and run MGM China, Melco and SJM.

If GMM gets licence, it will start to build an integrated resort in 2023 that will add more revenues starting in 2024 or 2025. Genting's biggest draw is the fact that the Genting runs Asia’s two largest theme parks. It's a sensible growth plan for the next 5 years.
GENM is a GEM!

It is possible GMM may partner an existing operator, or rent an existing site to operate
May not need to construct from grounds up
Not much is known this moment
All these questions are probably inconsequential compared to end of zero covid

KERAJAAN Perikatan Nasional (PN) perlu menyusun kerangka ke arah menamatkan sepenuhnya aktiviti berteraskan perjudian dari terus beroperasi di dalam negara ini. Ianya dapat dilaksanakan dengan tidak lagi diberi sambungan untuk melanjutkan perlesenan setelah tamat tempohnya yang akan datang.

Untuk merealisasikannya kerajaan mesti memiliki iltizam politik untuk tidak menjadikan cukai dari sektor tersebut sebagai perolehan hasil kewangan negara. Biarpun memberi nilai sangat besar berbilion ringgit, hakikatnya ia tidak harus menjadi sumber pendapatan apatah lagi sebagai kebergantungan.

Jangan kerana ‘pulangan lumayan’, kerajaan bersikap ‘menutup mulut’ atau ragu-ragu dari kebenaran bahawa perjudian sama ada berlesen atau tidak, ianya tetap haram di sisi Islam. Malah yakinlah, ketegasan ini akan mendapat sokongan moral rakyat, sekali gus membersihkan kantung negara.

Setiap tahun cukai sektor perjudian semakin bertambah, tidak termasuk dari perjudian tanpa lesen yang bererti terlalu besar sebenarnya jika ia dapat dicukaikan. Namun, kerajaan tidak seharusnya untuk merasa ‘kehilangan dan kekesalan’ kerana tidak memperolehinya.

Wang perjudian tidak lain memberikan kos melepas kepada tanggungjawab yang diabaikan atau pembayaran tidak dilunaskan. Bahkan tidak mustahil menjadi pemicu munculnya jenayah oleh mereka yang terdesak. Hitungkan semua kitaran ini, berapa ramai yang menjadi mangsa?

Kerajaan jangan dilihat sebaris tauke atau syarikat perjudian ‘berdiri sama tinggi, duduk sama rendah’ atau atau ‘cubit paha kanan, paha kiri terasa’. Kerajaan wajib melindungi dan menyelamatkan rakyat, bukan membina kekayaan seperti tauke atau syarikat perjudian atas merananya rakyat.
