davidkkw79... MAS was a clear sign of 'on paper' financial lost before. TM not. The only thing that before was the price for MAS share was so tempting low that people jump in buying... Maybe some did contra gain... but lost control at the end

if you work in ISP field then you will know TM won't die... at least not in upcoming 10 years...

cannot compare with MAS.. if MAS die we still have air asia.. but telco is different story... no other telcos in malaysia have extensive infra like TM and they are not willing to invest billions for building new infra nationwide.. that's why i said gobind can only kill TM in his dream because in the end other telcos also need TM

do you know if TM die Maxis also die? LOL

Shinnzaii... foreign companies that show interest only targeting business in mobile sector.. i don't think they are coming to lay fiber especially in rural areas... even TNB also not willing to invest in rural area... they have fiber but not meant for HSBB

Yes...rural area seem to be costly when laying fiber due to low demand but tnb said cheaper cost to lay, so it might be a game changer...

fiber to rural area requires big capex outlay not also to forget the recurring maintenance cost. So not that simple even on paper. Just look at existing major players maxis, digi, celcom. They all ady have licenses to lay fiber everywhere they want to, including rural areas. Why do you think they refuse to do so? Tnb fiber is limited. What they have are not design for home use.

Tnb use their fiber for normal people is the best. Later damaged or hacked then no electricity and no internet. Very good.

I cut Telekom bcos line too slow to do updates on mac apps. Google related websites also very slow. Only youtube is ok. Sometimes youtube also cannot load. Suspect using a lots of port sharing to cut cost.

I am considering to cut TM line and opt for Maxis home fibre instead. I am afraid after upgrading fr Streamyx to Unifi, the speed gets slower n slower.

base on minister proposal, internet price will reduce 30% and speed increase 50%. if earning remain same at 3billion and np for coming q should in -ve .which is bad for TM.
