Petra Energy (PENB MK) Technical BUY with +29.1% potential return Last price : RM2.30 Target Price: RM2.60, RM2.97 Support : RM2.14 Stop-loss: RM2.11 BUY with a target price of RM2.97 with a stop loss placed below RM2.11. PENB’s share price made a new high at RM2.60 on 18 Jul 13 before retracing lower and found support around the RM2.00 region. PENB has traded within RM2.12 and RM2.20 in the last 30 days as well as within the “cloud”, indicating a long period of consolidation. However, yesterday’s 10-sen surge on the back of a higher trading volume of 1.0m shares (vs 20-day average of 0.1m) suggests a genuine breakout. PENB not only breached the “consolidation” range but pulled off a breakout above the “cloud” as well. Given rising momentum and a bullish crossover in MACD, we expect upside bias hereafter with the share price likely to retest the previous high of RM2.60 in the near term which, if breached, would likely trigger fresh buying interest and pave the way toward our projected target ofRM2.97 in the medium term.
PETALING JAYA (Jan 14, 2014): Petroliam Nasional (Petronas) has started its first oil production from the Kapal, Banang & Meranti Cluster (KBM) fields, offshore Peninsular Malaysia on Dec 16, 2013.
The KBM Cluster, operated by Coastal Energy KBM Sdn Bhd, has been developed with JV partner Petra Energy under a Risk Service Contract (RSC) since June 2012. This is the third RSC that has successfully achieved oil production, after the Balai Cluster and Berantai Fields.
The KBM Cluster is an eight-year development project with Kapal being in its first development and production phase. The Kapal field facilities consist of one mobile offshore production unit (MOPU), one storage tanker with about 600,000 barrels capacity, one drilling rig with an attached well bay module and two flexible flow lines.
Through this mobile offshore production concept, Petronas plans to continue determining the potential production from the three KBM fields. The initial production rates from the cluster were over 10,000 barrels/day, with peak production reaching 13,000 barrels/day.
To date, Petronas has awarded 10 fields in four clusters under the RSC arrangement. Four fields have commenced production with a total of over 30,000 barrels of oil equivalent (boe) per day.
I am adequately impressed with Public Invest's Aug 22nd write up on Penergy. Just to add further that Penergy has achieved 8m plus PAT for the 2nd quarter .Taking this forward, one can expect some 30+m annually but this does not take into account profits from the risk sharing KBM cluster field. Already producing some 16000 bpd from KB. Question-- how much can this contribute towards Penergy's bottom line in 2015/2016 and onwards. One would not be too far wrong to assume that given a 20% IRR and that capex is touted to be US320m or some RM 900m , profits from the KBM cluster should be appx at least RM 180/200m annually.translating to Penergy 30% portion to some 60m. Moving forward, one can expect Penergy 's profit once KBM contributes would be some 90+m annually.giving an EPS of appx 30 sen or more . .Based on PE of 16/17 times a forward looking price is in the RM5 range. This is only based on existing contract orders and its investment in the KBM cluster. Strong growth trend in earnings is in placed.
Why did Petra Energy not announce the recent oil production find of 6000 bpd at Banang field as announced by Petronas more than a week earlier. Banang is part of the Kapal, Banang Meranti cluster field (KBM) RSC development. Combined with Kapal production which was announced earlier in the year, the production from KBM cluster is now 16000 bpd, a material development.
Investors, please take note that the recent sale of 3.15 million Penergy shares by Tabung Haji on Oct 10 was priced at RM2.80 per share. Interesting.Who is buying ?
Oops!!!, Tabung Haji, a substantial shareholder, on the Oct 16th bought back the 3.15 million Penergy shares they previously sold on Oct 10th. Only difference is that they paid RM2.805 for the shares. Why so odd Tabung Haji? Are you simply been silly or ?????
