We might see a big party next week in the lead up to the ex dividend date. Clearly the stock has been suppressed to scare off hesitant investors, and they actually succeeded. If the stock sky rockets next week, those who hesitated/sold would look like fools.
This is the cheapest Bank and is well below its NTA of RM4.30 and a very tempting target for the next consolidation. I will hold for long term since they have issued a policy statement that they will distribute 50% of profit as dividends i.e. the 15sen which is going to be distributed soon. Share prices get adjusted by the dividend on ex date and in a weak market prices may weaken a bit more which based on the fundamentals of AFFIN should be a good opportunity to buy and hold.....also think whether 15sen dividend is good enough. I heard rumours that MBB may be watching AFFIN for it next takeover ....but do your own research.
EPF is a short term player, do not happy when they buy. You can see the record EPF is buy sell buy sell the counter, just wonder if this a manipulate behavior? someone can tell?
In statement released on 26th Feb, there is a paragraph sound:
" The Group reported a lower net profit for the year under review mainly due to the unbudgeted allowance for losses on one major impaired loan account"
Who is the One major impaired loan account? Hope not 1MDB.. :(
KUALA LUMPUR: Japanese's Daiwa Securities Group Inc is keen to buy a minority stake in Malaysia's Affin Hwang Investment Bank Bhd, parent Affin Holdings Bhd said on Wednesday.
Affin, Malaysia's smallest lender by market value, said on Wednesday the central bank had no objection in principle to it starting negotiations with Daiwa Securities.
"Upon concluding negotiations, Daiwa and Affin would be required to obtain the prior approval of Bank Negara Malaysia pursuant to the Financial Services Act 2013, before entering into any agreement to effect the proposal," Affin said in a local stock exchange filing. -- REUTERS
