s.steel at least 2.30 look at mpi... last time losing money and down to 4.80. After that make money back and outlook reverse to positive, share price move to 13.00 and still continue to move up with better outlook. You only sell your stock when the industry outlook is negative and not selling when just started to turnaround.
Agree with ks5s....It is not often to have the opportunity to invest in turnaround stories. Especially if it is industrial wide and with a high certainty of fruition. My internal value for ssteel is RM3, base on an annualised EPS of 30sen at PE10. However, this personal value will change with market conditions and as we progress along with each quarterly earnings report. These steel plays are to me a defensive group of shares in the event of an unforeseen market crash and, its share price will be well supported by profits and dividends, unlike most stocks being touted currently in the market with flimsy M&A deals, contracts or whatsoever. Cheers
unless the co is willing to pay div or else it will come to naught . U see what has happened to Latitude , no div n so the share dropped rock bottom . Another one is Keck Seng , poor div but reserved in Billion n the share plummeted to below 5. So do not expect garand div when the management is too stingy to share the fruits of success.
leslieroycarter, you can check the history of ssteel and the other hong leong group related counters and you will realise the distribution of dividends
Tan Sri Quek has substantial shareholding in Ecoworld International and Guocoland. Especially Ecoworld which have thousand acre land to be developed at Penang. Can I expect that all their properties project will secure their steel from SSTEEL?
This Ssteel is a long term play. The bigger players are not too interested in the short term current price valuation. Instead for the moment, they are more interested in pushing down the price so that they can buy at much lower price to earn the same 3 sen dividend. Why buy high when you can get it at much lower price. Those who wanna sell should sell much earlier and not at immediate pre-ex-date. After the ex-date, the price should be recovering gradually.

News has been confirmed this was unscheduled break down. They are facing some technical glitches of blast furnace. Their blast furnace supplier from China "Tangshan" was reluctant to provide any technical support to them as they is a court case on going. As such, manufacturer is looking for technical expertise from overseas. Thing has become more complex now as they have wasted almost three weeks and still unable to resolve the issue. As such, they will take this chance to proceed with major overhaul. Hope management can resolve the issue asap.
Annjoo have huge inventories to clear during this period, it won't impact too much if the down time is shorter. Anyway, it is good news to SSTEEL & hopefully SSTEEL's tool can operate smoothly.
annjoo blast furnace down is not a good news at all to ssteel, as annjoo still can operate the electric arc furnace with 100%scrap metal like what ssteel is operating.
The main purpose of having hybrid production is to take advantage of the situation. With low prices of coal, Anjoo can't stand a good chance by using blast furnace for producing products at lower costs. Is it not good to Ssteel.......unless the information supplied by Solaris is fictitious. lol
This book is the result of the author's many years of experience and observation throughout his 26 years in the stockbroking industry. It was written for general public to learn to invest based on facts and not on fantasies or hearsay....
