What is the use of this manipulation except for Bursa to earn some fees. South Korea has suspended short selling for some time now. Has the stock market suffered from liquidity issue there? No!

Yup Geek2020, agree. Short selling is good in bull time to keep trading in check and balance, But in bad times it can be over abused to victimize financially weakened market players. The reason for allowing RSS is to create a more dynamic market, but at what expanse? At the expanse of hurting many genuine retailer investors? This will have a very negative longer term consequence. It will drive away many genuine investors due to huge losses suffered by them. It will be quite damaging to our stock market and the general economy. It shows the IBs have gotten over greedy at the expanse of their customers. There is no more respect for fundamentals. its winner takes all, thru bullying and unfair tactics, Its casino gone rogue.
When a counter keeps going up or limit up non stop, Bursa will impose trading limits. But when glove keep being shorted in huge quantities and on daily basis, and price keep dropping non stop everyday, why Bursa did not impose any control? At the very least Bursa could have suspend the Big4 from the RSS list for a specific period like 3-6 months to allow trading normalization. No need to suspend RSS for all stocks, just for the Big4 is good enough, as the amount of daily shorting has become abnormal. So something is very wrong with Bursa's rules to control on RSS trading.

RSS restriction rule also very weak for any stock to recover because daily 3% limit on top of 10% net limit is very-very weak for mega issued share stocks..its like unlimited heaven to continue breakdown stockprice of mega stocks..

RSS is an instrument to stop shares go sky rocketing and move beyond control , to stop manipulation of share price (goreng) . This is a good instrument when the country is booming, have too much of money . RSS works against inflation when country is in bull run

Bursa has control mechanism when prices shoot above the stock fundamentals, but when it go way below fundamentals, there is no control at all. That's why I say at very least Bursa could have suspend RSS for the affected counters, to allow it to normalise. I think that is fair control measure. Bursa must ensure there is no over manipulation either way, up or down, coz uncontrolled over manipulation both ways could lead to serious damage to the market players.

Yup Larn, the same RSS daily volume if hit MBB or PBB, they will also suffer badly. No counter on KLSE can withstand >20mil value RSS on daily basis, which was suffered by TG. With attack on TG, they can suppress all other glove counters thru their school of sharks, creating an overall bad sentiment against glove stocks.

Yup Larn, they control the whole ecosystem, from RSS to warrants, to media, to target prices, to all "licensed analysts", to knowledge of intimate details of all investors portfolios and margin accounts, to even the investment forums thru their hired goons. When there is no control by Bursa, they became too greedy this time, over step the line by unfairly victimizing all the glove retailer who were genuinely investing base on good fundamentals. There will be a longer term backlash against the IBs this time, where many serious investors may start to pull out from investing in share market.
This is casino gone rogue by cheating on their customers.

Bursa should realise that if they don't step in to protect the glove retailers, the share market will lose a big chunk of genuine investors, who will grow disillusioned and suspicious of the system, no more trust that their genuine investment base on good fundamentals can be safeguarded. Thumbs down to Bursa. The very least that can be done to ensure some order is to simply suspend RSS for the Big4 for 6 months. That will ensure a more orderly trading without >RM 20mil daily shorting to create fear and destroy confidence of the retailers.

I will continue to email to TZ and Bossku to highlight the unfair RSS trade imbalance on the Big4 and its potential damage to investors confidence on Bursa in the longer term and to recommend at the very least, RSS suspension on the Big4 for 6 months, since other counters are not affected much by RSS.
