Last year the highest ASP is USD38 sen/watt, and now the market rate is between 20 to 25 sen/watt. I estimate TS solar product cost is about USD30 sen/watt.
HI Patrick13 , i have feeling 2nd Quarter's result will better than 1st Quarter. Thats why the price in August will higher than the current price. BUY!
Bursa QR comparison is this quarter vs same quarter last year, not this quarter vs immediate previous quarter. Do you think Q2FY17 result will be better than Q2FY16?
Thanks Patrick. of cos i need to compare the preceding quarter also. There is no point to compare only the same quarter last year which the price is above RM1.0. As long as the solar has improvemet and the bottom line is positive. Then the price will adjusted and will higher than current price. Perhaps up to RM0.70 who know.
I have sent my queries to TS and one director, Loh Eng Chun replied as below:
Q. Understand that current market solar selling price still low, would like to know how you re-allocate cost structure to cut cost? A. We do always operating on cost-efficient scale and we are always seeking ways to be more efficient. The world market now is having a low demand thus suppressing the selling price. We are now looking at producing higher efficiency solar products by utilizing our resources.
Q. Meanwhile, any plan to further boost revenue stream for the rest of FY2017? A. Yes we are now in the planning stage to finalise a few items for us to have additional ways to improve our financial earnings.
Q. based on published 1QF72017 result, does the Group still stick with dividend policy with minimum 30% payout? A. Tek Seng is still a company which promises dividend payout, however it is not the end of the financial yet. For the 1st quarter, there will not be a dividend payout.
definitely solar energy is great of potential in the future. But looking the TS position, they have sufficient machine capacity, but does it correctly match with the market demand? Although TS is at the right business direction currently, but I think they also need to assess again what the market wants now. The solar energy provider is not only TS.
solar panel industry has become a tech industry like PC and mobile phone. It is constantly evolving to become smaller, lighter, more efficient, more energy produces with smaller size and less heat. Hence, if a company has the company has solar manufacturing capability but is not producing panel at its maximum capacity, it will eventually lose out. There will not able to recover the ROI. When newer solar product introduces, the older product will need to be sold as grade 2 product and at a discount.
It rose because Trump proposed for a solar wall along the border with Mexico. But Trump is saying to use made in America products. How it will benefit China?
Interesting. Chin Hin to buy 45% stakes in 3 solar power firms. This solar energy industry is going to become more and more intense competition. Wondering TS still able to survive for long-term sustainability.
Solar energy is here to stay. Future in solar business looks promising. Since most nations are worried about climate change, this looks the best alternative to avoid calamity consequence. Clean and renewable. Ponder over that option.
Totally agree that solar energy has a bright future. But, don't think it belongs to TekSeng. How do you think the big players/businessmen make money, especially in bolehland?
Solar energy good prospects is for energy producing companies which using solar panels because its getting cheaper and cheaper, therefore its bad for solar cells panel manufacturers like TS actually, wanna invest in an industry, need to differentiate every segment of the industry, my 2c

Seems like you are influenced by the crowd. Why did you buy this stock in the beginning? What changed? Why? What is your next move? Imagine you are the owner of this company, what would you do to boost stakeholders confidence? If all fails to satisfy, dump it!
