Not really. Government is controlling the price. If they allow price to float, then yes, competition can lower the price.

erm.... ok Government controlling egg price, but I remember majority TS eggs are exported to Singapore...so... what's the fuss?

My search result for singapore egg prices returned zero. Maybe they don't control the price there....

Price appears to be supported. The shorting wolves better run before the bulls charge again and trample them!

It's got to price manipulation by some syndicate wolves - stock market up, one of the best growth stocks in the Bursa down!

Let's just say I have confidence in Teo Seng even if the wolves win a round or two. It's still way better than money in FD. Also SGD is rising against RM, So lots of forex gain besides it being a growth stock! But if Teo Seng robustly support the share price against the wolves it will surely reach its TP fast!

But the wolves will try to bring the price down so that they can collect on the cheap. KLSE is not well-regulated and not liquid enough. So the wolves can make fortunes by raiding good stocks that are rising in value. They are allowed to short (likely illegally) the stock by their brokers. They say shorting is only for a day, but who knows?! Sometimes they are backed by the stocks' insiders, especially if there is not counter intervention by the management. Some of the commentators here may be one of them!

Sometimes, when a stock is too liquid, wolves will come and play the 'pump and dump' strategy. Just like the counters in the Top 10 Active Counters. It's not really good for investors as price will go up and down. It does not generate value. Management should only intervene and initiate shares buy back when the price of share is undervalued. Right now, I think the price is fair. Just my personal opinion.

They choose good under-valued stocks to raid because they know that the price would rise back in value after the sell-down and after they buy back at a lower price. So when they raid and cause a sell-down, hold on to your stock and add position if you can.

bastionne

Ya that is true. I've always heard that these operators or wolves that you call them, try to bring down the price then collect cheaper later. I'm not sure how that can work. Can any taikos here explain?

I know if you buy low n sell high u make money, that is given. But what if they say, sell now, n try to collect back at 1.90. How to know whether market will sell to them?

What if it is a case where 2.20 was the highest point for Teo Seng for now? Then it could be real selling. I think it is believeable a stock operator can control this stock, but how to control Soy & Corn price? If those two commodities does rally it could be huge problem for any poultry operator (i dont follow these commodities. I was just inform it is quite low than average). I'm confuse...

I think upsidedown119 might be referring to the 'stockist'. Have a good read here: http://www.thestar.com.my/Business/Business-News/2014/08/23/Dont-be-fooled-by-the-high-trading-volume/?style=biz
I'm not sure how Bursa can make this LEGAL at all. But don't worry, they usually go for counters priced less than RM1 because they have liquidity.

That is a very interesting article! I never know that. However, with volume not so big on Teoseng, Im not sure it is so easy to do the shorting as mention in the article and buy back later. Unless, some brokers have arrangement to allow short selling more than 1 day?

They also go for high cap stocks too. E.g. Genting Bhd recently. Backed by their syndicates and or brokers. They have the liquidity and can short the stock. The only ways to stop them are that fluctuations is not more than say, 5 sens per day. Their modus operadi is to sell down 10 sens or more in a few minutes to a day to deflate confidence in the stock. Then they buy back slowly when the stock drifts down to their TP and when no one else is interested to buy. They raid good under-valued stocks like Teo Seng especially after they have risen in price and especially after good dividends/bonus issues are announced BUT before ex-date! They know that the price will rise back later because the stock is undervalued.

somebody is happily dumping. who knows how low will it go. the major shareholder have more than 50% shares, which indicate they are safe while felda have 20 percents shares. nobody will ever have the chance to takeover.

Someone/group supporting the price now at 2. If they persist, the wolves will go elsewhere since they can't sell-down the price.

Its on Bursa website. If major shareholder on buy/sell any shares they have to declare, so i dont think there was any from d owner so I assume the same. Recently Felda bought more Teo Seng shares, n now they owned 5.33%

While KLCI is marching upwards, Teo Seng going downwards. What is going on I do wonder? Someone purposely sell to keep the price low? Or someone thinks that the lower egg price in Malaysia will affect Teo Seng? Maybe they forgot Teo Seng export mostly to Singapore....

If 1.8, I will be really happy collecting. But once the buyer syndicate collected enough, the price will rise so they can make. The danger are the shorties who will sell down the price rapidly. But if they cannot sell down > 5 sens in a day, it will be hard for them to make good money.
