Jen Ern Tan, you have to subscribe for the preference shares first before you can think of converting to ordinary shares. To convert, obtain the conversion form from your stockbroker for submission to EG Industries.
PS is tradable also like ordinary EG shares. You can convert (1:1) to ordinary share at any time after listing of PS until and within 5 years. After maturity (5 years later), remaining PS will authomatically converted into ordinary shares. PS holders are lenders to company ( in return for 2% interest p.a) but can become shareholders after maturity or after conversion. Company have option to redeem PS at issue price after third anniversary (have to give 30 days notice)
2% of issue price (0.95) per annum Ex-date is 30 June 1st payment will be period from listing date until 30 June 2018 If you got 1000 eg-pa, interest will be 950 X 2% /365 X no. of days (listing date until 30 June 2018) Period from 1 July 2018 - June 2019 will be 950x 2% = RM19 for 1000 eg-pa <common sense>
Haha made cash already from hibiscus. Painful wait, thankfully analyst 100% return call on tape today. Now waiting for this EG to bloom, still the slowest in my port
EG-PR only traded 40-43c, Rt 95c, total 40+95=135/2=67.5c 43+95=138/2=69c, thus trading 67.5-69c for Eg is considered dirt cheap compared those who bought the share at 80+c? So , sometimes better buy at the end of expiry to get a better offer.
We pay rm950 to get 1 pr 43 cents and 1 original share 70 cents, but don't forget each share has dropped 9 cents on the ex-date, we lose 36 cents from there. Should we just sell our pr since it is already credited in my account? Why do I have to pay rm950 to get a 70 cents share?
