If I set my benchmark for reasonability at FY2014 dividend yield of 6.5%, excluding special dividend, price is RM2.12. Currently KSL is already providing a 7% dividend yield and worth considering. Any thoughts?

We do not know how long the bear going to dominate
If every 3 months we are going to get some money
who is going to bother the bear
Better the price drops more so that we can buy more to get more dividend

Collected a little bit at around 6.5% fy2014 dividend yield during the selloff, luckily showing some stability now in early morning.

Note: The first two dividend payments for FY2015 are only 30% of net profit, which is below the 40% policy. Also, the 2nd interim dividend ex-date has not yet passed. So you will be getting 2nd interim dividend, and also 3rd & 4th which will be higher in order to meet the 40% policy. Good deal.

We are income investors
We invest for income
We never dreamt to make 100%, 200%...
We pray, for a period of 5 years , we can get a bonus
capital gain average around 20% per year
We do not bother how the price move from day to day
We concern more whether the company has good
balance sheet, growth and good cash flow to
pay us dividend every quarter or not. Datuk Lee is a smart businessman
so far he never fail to deliver good result, never fail to pay us more and more dividend

Investing is that simple

It is that simple for the past 30 years I am never a lose though no the biggest winner

pisanggoreng, if I had went in during the first week of August due to 'reasonableness' after seeing the first wave of sell off, I would be down by more than 15% right now. And just by waiting a few more days, I saved 5% compared to RM2.23 last week. You don't like discounts?

And one more thing, in this market, the dividend yield of 6.5% I am getting is worthless if sentiment continues to fade and the price declines more. Therefore I see it as just another 6.5% buffer in case it declines further, rather than yield.

ggg123, I like discount, but not every time we can get the best discount . that's why I never hesitate to top up position if the price is reasonable and I have cash at the time

in fact, we are different category of investors, we do not have a common point to communicate well , except the company "matrix concept " we both had agreed is worthy to invest in at the current price.

I don't bother so much the paper gain , as you do, as long as the company is still worthwhile for me to put my money in to generate more cash in return. neither do I work hard to get the best profit or best deal which is near impossible for most of the people here.

as I had said before:" I never dream to make a 100%, 200%... capital gain, I only pray, in a long run, that say, for a period of 5 years , I can get a bonus capital gain average around 20% per year " which is possible for a company we have chosen like matrix concept, if not I would not have been holding it till now.

Infact I have been waiting long for further 10% down from 2.30 to collect more. It seems like u-turn train has kicked off and thus my greed to buy cheap has failed this round. Therefore going forward I can only rely on on-hand quantity to deliver me div and profit.

Div credited so nobody really want to sell cheap already. Now major shareholders think no one want to sell cheap after getting div....so they start pushing up. My 2 cents theory....ha2

why price starts to move? look at all stocks around the world now. HK, China, US, Japan, and Malaysia, all up. Why? Because after the recent falling, they look cheap, therefore some funds in and buy. For Malaysia, RM so weak, those with higher risk appetite started buying to bet for both low valuation on stock price and also rebound of RM. As for property stocks, quite a few of them (inclusive Matrix) are now at expected dividend yield of 6%-7% and attractive RNAV discount, it's a good bargain for those who do not fear that much of Malaysia overall economy condition in near future that could cause property market to dead.

Dividend won't change much of a stock price. Speculators started accumulating normally a months ago before the ex date. And they will slowly sell after ex date. This won't change that much since they do it slowly. The key is still the fundamental. Many people buy for dividend hoping short term gain failed to gain profit because share price drops far lower to cover by the dividend received after ex date.
