For the record the Pfizer vaccine is also the first Covid-19 vaccine to be certified by the World Health Organization (WHO) for emergency use. Khairy also advised the people not to hesitate and worry about the level of safety of the vaccines that have been purchased because they have been certified free from any animal-related substances.

On Feb 4 Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin said the government would start the National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme from the end of this month, with the government targeting 80% of the country's population or 26.5 million individuals receiving the vaccines which are to be given free in three phases.The first phase from February to April is for a total of 500,000 frontline personnel directly involved in the fight against the pandemic. The second phase from April to August is for high-risk groups of senior citizens, aged 60 and above, and vulnerable groups with morbidity problems such as heart disease, obesity, diabetes and high blood pressure, as well as the disabled.The third phase is for adults, aged 18 and above, from this May to February next year.

Malaysia high court has ordered budget long-haul airline AirAsia X Bhd (AAX) to convene separate meetings with its different groups of creditors within 180 days from the date of order.The meetings are for the purpose of "considering and, if thought fit, approving with or without modification the Proposed Debt Restructuring to be proposed by AAX and the creditors.
Kuala Lumpur High Court ruled that aircraft lessors and planemaker Airbus SE were to be treated as unsecured creditors, but that Airbus would be placed in a separate class from other unsecured creditors. The ruling was made last Friday. The airline has been looking to restructure RM64.15 billion of debt.

After marathon submissions from lawyers of AirAsia X Bhd (AAX) and 14 creditors since Dec 21, the High Court has set Feb 19 for a decision on whether the creditors can intervene in a proposed court-supervised restructuring of the budget airline.Judicial Commissioner Ong Chee Kwan set the date today after hearing submissions from lawyers representing all parties involved.

court documents filed this month show that most of AAX’s lessors support a restructuring plan, and the airline has received interest from potential investors for fundraising after reorganization, Reuters reported.Planemaker Airbus SE filed an affidavit last month saying it could lose more than US$5 billion worth of aircraft orders if AAX proceeded with the plan.Fifteen out of 20 aircraft lessors were not in favour of AAX liquidating, while Rolls-Royce Group and interveners — Airbus, and BNP Paribas — were "not objecting" to the restructuring plan.

Lessors in favour of a restructuring include Macquarie Aircraft Leasing Services and Aircastle, according to the documents.AAX is seeking to restructure RM64.15 billion of debt. Its accrued debt amounts to RM2.24 billion, without taking into consideration contingent debts such as its large aircraft order book with Airbus.
