The source added that Salamander had requested Ophir to submit an offer by Monday.

At this point of time, Sona’s offer looks more compelling than what Ophir had put on the table for Salamander, the source said.

“If the official offer by Ophir is the same as it was stated in itd ststement today, Salamander is more than likely to decline,” the source said yesterday.

Another source noted that the key roadblock for Ophir to submit a firm offer is the support from Ophir’s and Salamander’s institutional shareholders.

Meanwhile, under the Ophir offer, Salamander shareholders would be entitled to 0.5719 Ophir shares for each Salamander share they hold, the companies said in a joint statement yesterday.

I know la pisangkuat, what i trying to highlight is some source said that if the Ophir offer is same with the joint announcement sala and ophir, then most probably they will reject..I dont know whether Ophir's official offer are same with the joint announcement or not, any sifu can advise?

Actually the deal is off but it doesn't mean this is the end of sona. Sona was get SC approved, they still have another 1.5 years to look for another QA. Since crude oil will estimated drop to usd50, sona should save their money to look for cheaper and profitable assets.

Just curious, now with Salamander BOD approved the acquisition, does this means that they do not need to get other share holder approval through EGM to finalized the acquisition? It seen to be fast for Ophir to bought over Salamander and not too sure whether is this a normal practice? Will the deal call off if Salamander share holder does not accept the share exchange?

Try to make a wise decision, if currently you are facing huge paper loss, why don't you just hold it for confirmation later? even if the deal is cancelled, still got more than a year for them, and of course, they might have backup plans, who knows? But most importantly, sona is hotter than sauna, sharks like these stocks, definitely they will goreng. Stock market is about psychology, control your emotion and make decision wisely. Instead of realizing huge loss, why not try to wait for further results? Cheers.
