Let us see what sona management say today. Since they started blogging on investor site, mother and warrant koyak. Alamak. At these prices deal is dead. In fact, more people will buy and vote no, as the yield is delicious. Let us see what management can come up with. Maybe they have a sugar daddy make last minute entrance.

no need to assume NO or YES. Its not written in stone yet.

the sell down is just about a simple emotion. Fear

thats why so little people succeed at investing in the stock markets. they throw stocks away when they are uncertain and fearful. They are not confident on what they have invested. they are just simply driven by their own emotions. same goes vice versa.

stereotyping about it going to fail is no help either. There is no fact nor inherent guarantee in investing.

However the fear factor now is really high...so this is not helping too. lol

one important lesson to learn. do not stereotype. do not be govern by emotions. if you decide that this is not in your best interest just sell. simple. no need stories. no need condemnation. just be indifferent.

plus i doubt simple retailers like you or me are just interested in so called " yield "

yield is mostly for fix income investors, bonds, debt, insurance, pensions funds investors.

oil price is bouncing back to usd41++

what an excellent time to buy a good price oil field now than later

once oil price bounced back to above usd50, the confident level will come back but then may be too late to have one at such good price or you may think you shud have owned more of the shares, LOL

i can understand why some of investor frustrated , bcoz they trapped at high price (like me). i bought at 0.545 on 15.5.14 (with very2 big lot), then enter again on 0.52, 0.50, 0.49, 0.46, 0.45, 0.43. now average price still at level 0.49. Paper profit still in red colour, but i'm long term investor. I lost immediately if i sell at current price ( plus dividend if i put it in FD x nearly 2 years).

look at Cliq where there were trails of buying by Credit Suize for short term refund n yield above 5%. The same goes to Sona. Hence, I have a strong feeling that these 'gang' ie: Credit Suize and Pacific and all insurance companies will vote NO NO NO to high risk QA. Sell now your WA, as the Value is zero soon. Don't say that we don't advise you...good luck my friends

When oil price is down; US$ is normally up. And vice versa. Sona will be drawing income in US$ when QA is approved...

I think many have the misconception whether credit suise and Pacific are yield investors or otherwise

common sense said that its all depends on the quality of QA, IF is good they will go for long term, if bad, sayonara, short term yield

there is no better time to invest in the low cost oil field than now
Stag field is a good one

I will also go with a YES for SONA! A solid QA and with people who know the business and I hope that the big funds think the same :-)

Posted by Dogwithabone > 2016-03-18 12:31 | Report Abuse

Any rational investor would vote yes. If you vote no, you will have a min of 12 mths wait for your 48c net return. However, looking at the QA, it looks like a real good deal. Already producing 4400 bpd. The cost of production is USD30. Gvn the current oil price of USD40, they stand to make USD10 per barrel. 4400 bpd X 320 days X USD10 = USD14.08 mil. In RM, it is 59.13 mil, thts 5.3 c p shr. At 60c, it is only 12 times PE for an oil and gas stock.

Can someone enlighten me...... can SONA warrant be converted to shares if they voted against the QA tis coming EGM?
thanks

If the QA is not approved, your warrants are worthless. But if the QA is approved, your warrants will be easily worth 15c.

hi dogwithabone,

Why does it take 12 month for Sona to return the money back if investor vote "No"? i thought they need to return it to them prior to completing the QA which means before July 2016. Unless of course the QA will not be approved by the majority of shareholders. Then, they will need to liquidate the assets which takes 1 - 2 years.

If majority of shareholders approved the QA, then Sona will need to pay those who vote "No" before July 16. Correct me if i'm wrong.

Thanks

sad...two scenarios.

dissenting but resolution approved...should get back money very fast.

but if resolution defeated,,,we have to wait until 7/2016 then liquidation process starts.

if CS and Pacific who together controls 20% votes NO.....the resolution sure to be defeated.

intention of CS and Pacific is pure speculation.

but if resolution is defeated they will not be getting their money back so fast.

which could mean they are genuine investors. and vote YES.
