OPEC oil output has dropped to the lowest level in February 2019 since March 2015, Trend reports citing S&P Global Platts.
"Saudi Arabia's continued output discipline and Venezuela's struggles under US sanctions led OPEC's crude oil production in February modestly lower to 30.80 million b/d," an S&P Global Platts survey of industry officials, analysts and shipping data found. " The figure is a 60,000 b/d drop from January and is OPEC's lowest output level since March 2015, when Gabon, Equatorial Guinea and Congo had yet to join the organization but Qatar was still a member."
S&P believes that despite the fall, OPEC still has more cutting to do to fully comply with its supply accord that went into force in January.
"The 11 members with quotas under the deal achieved 79 percent of their committed cuts in February, and remain 170,000 b/d above their collective ceiling. This is a slight improvement on January's 76 percent, with Nigeria and Iraq producing far in excess of their cap," according to Platts calculations.
OPEC and non-OPEC producers reached an agreement in December 2016 to curtail oil output jointly and ease a global glut after more than two years of low prices. OPEC agreed to slash the output by 1.2 million barrels per day from January 1.
Non-OPEC oil producers such as Azerbaijan, Bahrain, Brunei, Equatorial Guinea, Kazakhstan, Malaysia, Mexico, Oman, Russia, Sudan, and South Sudan agreed to reduce output by 558,000 barrels per day starting from January 1, 2017.
OPEC and its partners decided to extend its production cuts till the end of 2018 in Vienna on November 30, as the oil cartel and its allies step up their attempt to end a three-year supply glut that has savaged crude prices and the global energy industry.
The 5th OPEC and non-OPEC Ministerial Meeting was held in Vienna, Austria, on December 7, 2018.
The meeting participants decided to adjust the overall production by 1.2 million barrels per day, effective as of January 2019 for an initial period of six months. The contributions from OPEC and the voluntary contributions from non-OPEC participating countries of the 'Declaration of Cooperation' will correspond to 0.8 million barrels per day (2.5 percent), and 0.4 million barrels per day (2 percent), respectively.
Penergy's estimated annualized EPS is 25 cents and its price is currently at 1.20 so with the same PE, the laggard Carimin's price should be at 0.96 now right ???
Could it be quietly accumulate Carimin while retailers throw mega cheap sale on this share..it is everybody guess game, obviously game for Carimin is not over yet & may rocket like Dayang if next Q EPS is increse compare to 2nd Q 2.25 cent
Lower EPS for 2Q is due to lesser high margin offshore activities admist monsoon season. However, Carimin has completed more onshore activities in 2Q but these are low margin cost plus procurements ie allowable expenses + margin. Next Q should see profit back to normal
If true why directors eg MR LIM YEW HOE (a company director), ENCIK WAN HAMDAN BIN WAN EMBONG don't know and disposed?

Trapped, I'm not sure but looking at directors' shareholdings so far only Mr Lim Yew Hoe sold his shares since early this year from total 15,718,300 down to 13,278,000 shares with total 2,440,300 shares transacted through open market. These were the block shares he acquired in 17 off market and continued accumulating through open market until June 18. I supposed he is just locking in some handsome profits now from the investment he made couple years ago. None of other directors including the MD, Mokhtar Bin Hashim (58,873,234 or 25.17%) have sold any shares.
On the other hand, Wan Hamdam is not involved in Carimin's biz in fact he has been reducing his total shareholding since 16 from 28.4 mil shares to 14.5 mil currently (total sold 13.9 mil) in tranches. The other major shareholder, Wong Kong Foo is still holding his 40,710,128 or 17.41% and he has not sold any shares.
if all directors selling at once, sure drop like waterfall la... what really matters, there 2 directors have sold big amount, shows their perception towards existing price level..higher than what it should be.
They running the show, should know better la than KYY. If Carimin will up to $1.00, in short-term that would be 200k.loss for every 1 million sold. ..Directors/major shareholders will look stupid la..huhu
looking at the chart pattern and candlestick pattern, all toward down trend, couple with increase selling volume last Friday. But..in Bursa, many times reverse from expectation.
True but I see Carimin still got potential with anticipate increase in offshore work orders from Petronas and if they can get any other new/additional contracts will be bonus. Petronas has announced more capex 2019 on upstream activities with record profit made. Current share price is still below IPO price of RM1.10. Financial performance should rightfully grow from strength to strength given the bullish industry outlook. Carimin is also in asset light and manageable gearing position.
Carimin diversified into civil construction after Lim Yew Hoe came on board in 2016 from Emas Kiara. It acquired a subsidiary of Emas Kiara, Noblecorp and formed Carimin Bina. This biz segment has never take off and in fact on down hill as shown by lower revenue in 2Q of RM2.2 mil as compared to RM5.5 mil in the previous quarter. Not sure the intention of his disposal maybe for personal reasons?
This book is the result of the author's many years of experience and observation throughout his 26 years in the stockbroking industry. It was written for general public to learn to invest based on facts and not on fantasies or hearsay....
