The Quarter result is coming soon.. It is predicted to be a good one.. However, the share is keep dropping as the MGM does not impose share buy back mechanism. Thus, EPF is kept dumping with aims of buying back at anytime.

Some broker research mentioned that the results should show between 100-120m profit this qtr as kitchen sinking exercise already don last qtr. Hope it's true.

1. Appearance of long black candle with big volume in the Technical Price Chart today.
2.Moving Average(MA) chart is trending down.
3.MACD line is below the Signal Line on the MACD chart.
4.Stock is now in the bearish zone as shown on the RSI chart.
All these factors collectively support on why the stock price trend downwards by 4.0 cents.
Expect the stock bearishness to continue for quite awhile because there is no positive catalyst to move or cause to move the stock to trend upwards.

Normally,the market can anticipate in advance how will the coming company QR be.It lead and moves ahead of the result announcement.Thepresent movement of the price trend and momentum possibly does not augur well for the company QR?

Thus in the immediate term do not expect the downtrend in price to reverse upwards.Just to share.

I just know observe one thing, when most indicator show bearish, price will up. When show bullish, it will down.

Very true on the technicals & the operator action

As far as I'm trading this stock, my view is the operator is EPF & KWSP with EPF selling using foreign broker code.

There is another player who has been collecting millions of shares at these levels but who do not need to disclose their hand. This is happening for the last couple of months. I believe within 3-6 months (perhaps sooner) we shall see a major rally upwards on some positive developments.

This may be the last leg downwards. Almost every broker has a buy call, the catalyst for the push perhaps is the upcoming quarterly results.

Keep fingers crossed.

The true story is share counters in Malaysia never reflect their actual value. As long as the institutional players are keen in a particular counter, the share price is well kept. Malakoff has lost one third of its listing price price.. What else could we expect? Truely, the company hasn't done much to safeguard the interest of the shareholders. Power generation in Malaysia is sort of a monopolised business- but still Malakoff isnt that rewarding for the shareholders..

To go up, EPF need to stop disposing million millions. Till now, no sign EPF want to stop. EPF still have 11+% from 14+%.

The only way for EPF to stop selling is when thefinish selling another 600m shares or so.
That may take another year or 2.
Even with the dividend yield at about 5-6%, EPF still wants to sell.
If you trace back, the Company has been making money ever since it got listed but its of no consequence to EPF.
God only knows what is their investment cost

The stock price reflects well on how the company is doing. Its profit drops by 30% and hence the share price drops ~30% as well.
The dividend yield is only ~3+% as EPF bought at 1.8, not 1.2.
Who knows if EPF got better yield investment else well.
So, please stop bashing EPF for causing the price to drop.

EPF is a well cash-rich entity. Why should it divert its investment by disposing the existing one at hefty loss? There are many unanswerable practices in Malaysia, even those holding power in government related investment arms are exempted from explaining the big loss incurred..

At the end of the day, EPF still making money and pay for our EPF interest consistently.
Managing huge money is different than retailers like us.

If this is the case, EPF should not invested in Malakoff. As what I said earlier, the government-linked investment arm should deliberate the background and potential of the company which they invest. They cant just withdraw themselves at an unreasonable exit cost. It should be justifiable and pointless to say that there is a better prospect, thus jumping out from the boat. The EPF's role is for long-term investment as they handle people's monies.

On the other hand, the yield could be even higher if EPF manage the fund efficiently. It is pointless to claim that they made no mistakes with a constantly paid 5-6% dividend. Just look at the Temasek Singapore and use it as a yardstick to compare.

epf is doing to malakoff what they did to maybank counter last year, hence the continue low price.
another interesting case, take a look at lafarge. epf disposing non-stop. price of lafarge is at historical low, so any price epf sell now is a guaranty loss. go figure :-)
