I believe the recent climb has to do with foreign investors rotating funds, don't be overly optimistic about the QR. AFAIK the irish co. acquisition deal is not finalised yet?
The worst may not be over but investors could start looking at tech stocks again AFTER two years of a superbull run, Bursa Malaysia-listed semiconductor and semiconductor-related companies have seen their market capitalisation crumble since the beginning of the year, much like their counterparts in the US and other parts of the world.
On average, share prices of The Big Four outsourced semiconductor assembly and test (OSAT) players — Inari Amertron Bhd, Malaysian Pacific Industries Bhd, Unisem (M) Bhd and Globetronics Technology Bhd — as well as the Big Four automated test equipment (ATE) manufacturers — ViTrox Corp Bhd, Pentamaster Corp Bhd, Mi Technovation Bhd and Greatech Technology Bhd — had declined a significant 40% year to date (YTD) and 5% over the past one month.
Greatec got more than RM500mil new orders in current quarter (RM888m+156m-507m). Very impressive! Order book now last until first half 2024. If you read First Solar's announcement, there is another new plant worth US1.1B in North Alabama, to be operational in 2025, this will certainly enhance the order book for Greatec. Bright prospect!
@YourQuirkyWays29. Hey there... no I took some profit @RM4.2X Did not anticipate that it will continue to climb this much...oh well... :P I have minimal holding in tech stocks. At least MPI is doing quite well...
